  1. Hang in there Batman fans - Mr Bedrock is weakening.
  2. This and Spellbound #3 are my favorite Heath covers [everyone else's too, probably!]
  3. It's beautiful work. The fact he kept it must have made things so much easier for IDW. Many of their art editions have to collate OA from a wide range of sources/owners. Someone on a different forum collated what we have of Heath's work so far, so I thought I'd share: - Flesh and Steel - the Joe Kubert Enemy Ace Artist Edition - the Best of DC War Artist Edition - the Mad Artist Edition (the Plastic Sam story) - and of course in Russ Heath Yellow Heat Artist Edition Portfolio
  4. One can dream. Flesh and Steel is ten years old and long OOP, so let's hope the stars eventually align for an AE.
  5. The first printing comprised 6,000 numbered copies and was termed the 'Famous First Edition', so the second print run will not be numbered. Frankly, I couldn't care less!
  6. Some exciting news for lovers of DC Gold and Silver Age this week! Batman: The Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 10 Superman: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 1 Wonder Woman: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2
  7. Yeah - to be clear, that's from the book I posted. Whoever owns that piece has my undying envy. I was just thinking, if only IDW could do an artist edition of his OA! Although they did print a portfolio of Yellow Heat [which I don't own]. https://aeindex.org/reviews/russ-heaths-yellow-heat-artists-edition-portfolio/
  8. Taschen will be doing a second printing at the end of April, so it will be widely available again then.
  9. Flesh & Steel: The Art of Russ Heath is also the name of the exhibition that was held on 24 January 2013 at Casal Solleric gallery in Palma, Spain. It chronicles Heath's entire 50 year career from the time when he was freelancing for comics in high school. The artworks include many previously unseen personal works.
  10. IDW published a great monograph of Heath's work in 2014.
  11. I would sell Straw Man's soul not to see Mr Bedrock dance.
  12. BTW, The Big Book of Wood really is big - over 500 pages, and 15" tall. There's a copy for sale on Abebooks for a measly $2.5k for the book lover who has everything else! [Too rich for my blood unfortunately.]
  13. I have a couple of their Wood books. They've done quite a few. [A Western themed volume is forthcoming this year.] http://www.vanguardpublishing.com/wally_wood/index.html
  14. Gaaaahhhh! Don't remind me. I know someone who has one, but he'll never sell it.
  15. Sky Masters was an interesting collaboration between Wood and Kirby - an artistic match made in Heaven if there ever was one.
