  1. Pete is truly a pleasure to work with. Trustworthy, great communication, and a really good guy. He made selling a solid five-figure book as easy as possible. If only more buyers were like Pete...! Thanks, brother. I know the book is going to a good home. I'm looking forward to working with you again.
  2. Thank you very much for sharing the results of your research. It was very thorough and the synopses at the end is an added bonus. I'm sure this is a sticky somewhere on the boards, but if it's not, it certainly needs to be!
  3. 5.0. It's a very nice book. I have a solid 4.5 and this looks better (with the exception of the chips). I agree to send it to CCS for eval.
  4. I've actually asked myself the same thing lately. It is on my want list. Congrats for owning one. For selfish reasons, I hope it's still relatively affordable when I'm finally able to buy one. For Marvel silver keys, I'd say my favorites list is as follows: AF15, Hulk 1, JIM 83, TOS 39, FF 1, X-Men 1, ASM 1, DD 1. I only have 2 out of the 8 so I have a long way to go.
  5. Bought a stack of Hulks from Jared. He's a top-notch seller and a really nice guy!
  6. Boardies, Amazing Spider-Man #25 1:1000 Remastered CGC 9.8 - NOW $2,395 Shipped to continental US. Price is FIRM! PayPal, Check, or Money Order. No returns on graded books. No no-no people. The only TRADES I'd consider are ASM 129 or Hulk 181 CGC 9.2 OW/W or better for this book plus cash or my my ASM 129 or Hulk 181 CGC 8.5. I'd also consider a trade for any ASM from 2-14 (v1). Thanks for looking. J
  7. It's been a while since I've been back on this thread. I sold my last AF15 and picked up one that I'm happier with. I really like the recent discussions here. Thanks.
  8. It's great to see this! Congrats. I have quite a bit left to complete 1-700. I admit that with all the variants, I had to call it quits at 700. Good on you for keeping it going.
  9. I don't know Chris... you do kind of look a little like him too.
  10. Yes. Been there with the exact price of $7500 about a year ago. The seller sent messages stating he couldn't make it to the post office. After he got his/her money out, he went silent. Probably not the same seller. I got my money back, of course, but I'd guess the seller doesn't care about PayPal (off eBay transaction) taking him/her to court.
  11. Me neither, Brannon. If by "tablets" you're referring to glasses of bourbon... done and done.
  12. I'm inexperienced in the hobby/business compared to some, but it seems that this auction, alone, has drawn a lot of rightful speculation about the reasons for such bidding. It could be a die-hard fan, hobbiest or non-hobbiest investor, or market manipulation. I've read a lot about "ground breaking" sales in the past that many thought absurd, but later turned out to be wise. Still, has the hobby ever seen anything like this?
  13. Mijael is an A+ boardie! Everything was done by the book. He's great to work with, maintained constant communication to ensure the book arrived safely, packed very well, and his grading is spot on!
  14. I hereby announce the grand opening of C6: the Collectibles by Baker, CVA Certified Certification Company for CGC.
  15. I love it. Thank you for showing how it may have looked if published as the cover almost 50 years earlier. I like it better. I've always admired the way Ditko portrayed realism in his comic art, right down to the burgler's left pant leg falling down from his shoe. I love Kirby's cover, but Ditko gave Spidey a better hold on the burgler.
