Everything you could possibly want to know about the Harlan Ellison Collection.
Okay, so last year I went a "little" nuts and bought the heart of Harlan Ellison's comic collection, about 800 books (so far). This was by far my largest comic purchase, ever.
And...since members have been asking for more info, I thought I'd do the journal thing and share the backstory of the collection, the present, and hopeful future acquisitions.

Frank Miller DDs in 9.9 - collect them all!
The Frank Miller Daredevil run is my favorite run of all time and currently there are twelve issues in 9.9, most in WP's -
    161, 173, 175, 177, 181, 182, 184, 186, 188, 189, 190, 191.
I have three (173, 181, 184). Just recently bought the single copy of 173, but I've been searching for 161, which seems impossible to find since there's only one copy in the registry.
The boardie who sold me the 173 also sold the 161 five years ago to PlatinumComix on eBay, who sold it to DesireableItems (also eBay), who sold it at SDCC...to someone...
    *Sigh*
    The search continues.
In related news, I have a few extra 9.8s and a PGX 9.9 that I'm going to break out, press, and go for a CGC 9.9. Nuts, I know. But what's a guy to do?
Here's the 173. The cut's a little wonky as were a lot of the Miller books of that era.

Comics from the collection of Harlan Ellison
In 2011 I bought the heart of Harlan's Silver Age collection--nearly 800 books with complete runs of all the major Marvels (with a few moderns, Golden Age books, and underground comics thrown in for good measure).
These were Harlan's books, and well, Harlan was (and still is) a reader first, so many of these comics are "well loved" so not many 9.8s in the mix, BUT there are still some high-grade beauties.
I'll be posting books every week. Hope you like them as much as I do.
