What's the story with I, Lusiphur? I recognize Drew Hayes from Poison Elves fame but have never seen or heard of this mag.

Or Mark Jewlers. Or better yet MJ/Mennen and MJ/Bose double variants!

I probably jumped the gun in assuming he was bringing it to sell but this was the conversation. For context, someone offered him $10k for it at Heroes but not in cash. He brought it on Sunday but didn’t take the offer.

All of this discussion turned out to be irrelevant. The guy showed up to the show with the book in hand, showed it to me, I put 10 grand on the table and then he got cold feet. No sale.

Little more info : I have never owned a copy. This would be a medium-long term hold.

I have this being offered to me at $10k cash. I have the money available and it won’t hinder me financially but that doesn’t mean I want to be reckless. I know GPA shows the last sale at $15k but one ended on eBay 6/26 for $11,950. It was on GPA for a few days but has since been removed as I don’t think the sale went through. I don’t think it has been pressed, but also don’t know that getting one would really help. I’ve asked a few guys I trust but their opinions vary from “risky” to “Absolutely!”. Thoughts?

I see the 94 much more often that I see the other issues in the 90s. Found that Spectre for $3 at Heroes. The rest are ghosts for me.

Seems like the perfect book for my first CPV slab.

I doubled my space for the first time in 5 or 6 years and it paid off big time! My Friday sales were more than I had done at any of the previous 5 years shows for the entire weekend (coincidence...I think not). All of that without selling a single book over $375 (X-Men 94 CGC 3.0). There were pile builders galore in my $1 boxes (there seemed to be a severe lack of them this year) and $3 boxes. Found some incredible cheap flips in the $5 and under boxes. AND got a full color/full figure Scrooge. He hasn't done these in years so it came from the Team Cul de Sac Michael J Fox Foundation booth. Friday Saturday Sunday

At least he still had his clothes on. I've been to WAY too many Summer shows when he didn't during setup!

Or are they saying that just the cover is a 9.0 but the other flaws bring it down to an 8.0?

I’m always seen the grade to be the better of the covers, no matter the discrepancy. There is a 5.5/8.5 Cap 155 that gets an 8.5 on eBay now as an example. Then today I see this? Any insight?

It's been hot since last year when he was announced for a toy in the Dr Strange line.

Short version is that I was a vendor (and the last one he made it to). Thankfully the room was full of cheapskates and/or didn't have cash on them to buy it. I almost doubled his best previous offer but still paid a ridiculously low price for the book. One dealer had the balls to offer him $1800 (that clearly wasn't the best one he received).

So now is everyone with a PLOD Mile High screaming for a re-grade and a blue label?
