  1. Bottom row, far right works for me..... GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u I had the same thought.
  2. I just got a DCU Animaniacs #1 that I bought online. The seller threw in a freebie Animaniacs #6, which was also the DCU!
  3. When I was looking for my copy centering was a top criterion for me. I wanted to see the entire A in Amazing and the full 12 cent circle on the spine. Yours looks great, nice pickup!
  4. Too funny, thanks for sharing. IMO, that comic, a 9.2 no less, is ruined. Yep, another Pristine Comics masterpiece. He really needs to add "Ruins" to the front of his store name.
  5. JSC draws the same face with dirt on the nose over and over and seems to do ok with them. And Gil Kane did just fine with all those nostrils . . . So true.

  7. Cool books Frisco ! I like your taste. It seems like I see more of the Pricing Variant on the 76 than the regular edition. The census does not distinguish between the two so it's difficult to say. I feel like I see more of the variant too. Since it is on the label CGC ought to be able to add a slot for the variant in the pre-hero JIM set. I think it's time to make a request... I did request a separate slot in the registry for the pricing variant, and Gemma came through! She said it would take about a week for the registry to update with the splitting of #76 into variant and non-variant, and then she can add the slot. So now we will get to see the ratio in the books that are graded.
  8. I know comic fans are rabid, but I just can't see people paying over $100,000 for a figure cover even in this day and age of speculation.
  9. Wow. Just saw the news. You are right. Ever since she first appeared on Attack of the Show, she's had a special place in my heart You mean....OLIVIA MUNN??? Yessir (thumbs u
  10. ...it's not just you......3 and 4 are tough......4 maybe the toughest. Now that #1, I still can't, for the life of me, figure out why a couple grand can still snag a VF on that book....... GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Agreed, both #3 and #4 are difficult. I'd like to upgrade from my 6.0 and 6.5, respectively, but you just never see them. #6 is no picnic either. Meanwhile, #2 is almost common above Fine (relatively speaking, of course). I love this run, as well as AAF.
  11. It's even got the regional staples, whatever those are.

  13. I don't see how a single release of 13 hours of programming is any more "shooting the load" than the release of a film. Both have a build up of anticipation that is released when you get to see the product, but the TV show has a much more significant payoff, IMHO. 13 episodes = much greater level of character development to build greater anticipation and fan base. I really think that TV, even when released in a batch like Netflix does, has the potential to drive demand more than films do.
  14. It didn't happen then, because that poop stain of a movie ruined Daredevil for years. Just like the Green Lantern movie sent prices tumbling for GL keys. When movies are done well, (or series), then the books take off. This also applies to speculative fever before the product is released. (See Flash, Avengers, Iron man etc.) I'm talking about the run-up before the series came out. Why did everyone think first Purple Man was a good buy when details were still sparse? From what I've heard Purple Man will appear in the Jessica Jones series, not DD.
  15. Hmm...it's just that I could've swore it said "graded' when I woke up Saturday morning, but then later in the day it changed to 'Shipped/Safe'. Oh well, no biggie. Mike They work many Saturdays to get caught up, but they don't consider that as a business day for calculating TATs.
  16. Thanks guys! I'm still a bit bummed about the resto, but yeah, a glue repair does bother me less than a trim would have. At the end of the day I was expecting a purple label, and at least this is a more desirable note to get.
  17. This was part of my latest sub to CGC, courtesy of Tomorrow's Treasures before I knew better. Based on the cover edges I have actually long suspected it was trimmed, but I subbed it because I really wanted to know one way or the other. Turns out it wasn't trimmed, but apparently the spine did get a glue repair at some point. Either way, it's still a pretty copy. My scanner isn't hooked up, so you get an iPhone photo.
  18. My copies are rags to your riches Ditto. I think if you added the grades for my RK #22 and TGK #107 together you might get close to a 7.5. Great books that definitely belong in this thread!
  19. Nice books! I'm not sure it would be worth it to slab them, but it depends on what your collecting goals are. Value-wise I don't think the DCUs have a high enough visibility at this point to make them significantly more valuable than the non-variant issues for most books. The few that are, like the Death of Superman books, are sought after because they tend to be later prints that tend to be lower grade & lower print run. But even those tend to be most sought after by a relatively small number of variant completists. If you're putting a Knightsend/Quest registry set, and you'd like to add an extra bit of coolness to your set, then I would slab them. If you're looking for value or resale then you'd probably do just as well raw after you account for the additional time and fees of slabbing.
  20. My money would be on Colossus, and TOS #14 already commands a bit of a premium because of his first appearance.
  21. Thanks for the heads up, order placed.
  22. This. +1 At these prices I've given some thought to downgrading from my yellow 9.8 (Michelinie) to a blue 9.6. If it weren't my OO bought off the rack it'd be easier to pull that trigger.
  23. There are always plenty of slabbed Flash #92s on eBay. I can't recall seeing any others.
  24. I don't know enough to speculate on price but it does look like it has been Costanzed. It is absolutely impossible to determine whether or not any of those "defects" were caused by pressing. 7.5's don't come around for auction very often and the last 8.0 that was on comic connect a few months ago (also rumored to have been pressed) set a new GPA high anyway. I suspect this one will do quite well especially with the Marvel movie buzz swirling around now. -J. Not disagreeing with you man. Just saying it looks fugly on the open edge. The shrinkage, if that's what it is, isn't as bad as many copies. I don't disagree that it is undesirable though. Any time you can see the page edges at the lower right corner that is a turnoff for me. That said, it is very nicely centered otherwise so that may offset the right edge some.
