  1. Great transaction and books, I would happily do business with Revat again!
  2. Still better then the last Tobey Maguire Spiderman movie. Not at the box office it didn't. S3 did nearly $200 MILLION MORE with a smaller budget. And critically, they'd be at about a dead heat. Rotten tomatoes tabulated S3 a 6.2/10 and ASM2 a 5.9/10 out of 200+ critic reviews. ASM2 had a very slight edge in audience reviews: a 3.7/5 from only (200,000 voters) vs S3's 3.3/5 from 2,000,000+ voters) The last Tobey Maguire Spiderman movie was worst then the Batman movies in the 1990s . Oh wonder why people got turned off with Spidey movies! Just remember these scenes. These just remind me that Bryce Dallas Howard played Gwen in SM3, which scores that film a ton of points over ASM2. She was just about that film's lone bright spot, but it was a very bright spot indeed.
  3. I would like to know how they choose the order things go at CGC, I sent 2 invoices in one box (Both marked received by CGC 10/22/2014), I received (in my hands) 1 of the invoices on the 14th of last month, While the other still sits at graded. Others submissions received after mine are being shipped, It makes no sense. #FIFO!
  4. Spider-Man unmasking himself to the public was a major part of Civil War. I'd argue it's the only real reason you'd even need him in the movie. When do Marvel heroes actually keep their masks on in movies?
  5. Maybe the prospect of getting a milkshake with a lunch during your retirement. Depending on the nerdette you may have brightened your prospects in other areas that would more than offset that loss.
  6. Looks like Animaniacs #1 has a DCU variant. This shot is of a sealed pack, but you can make out the logo through the plastic behind the WB symbol at lower left.
  7. This makes perfect sense. I don't have the bullet books memorized (nor any of these, really, other than broad ranges) but the pattern does seem to be that the bullets immediate precede the DCUs.
  8. I've been curious about that too, same with Steel #10 & 17. Those are odd gaps around long runs. During some downtime I occasionally search eBay to see if any of these issues pop up with DCUs, but of course these are very rarely sold individually. I do really appreciate you having started and keeping up this list!
  9. Thanks for that! I just hadn't seen many of the Justice League variants until yesterday so I never paid that much attention. On a list of this size with a lot of moving parts it is very easy to make an error. So do we know if any Justice League Europe books have DCU variants?
  10. In going through my haul from the weekend I found a few variants that aren't on the list, and I also got to wondering if the Justice League books are listed correctly. I'm pretty sure that the books listed under Justice League (International) may in fact be mislabeled Justice League of America. The #69 4th print Doomsday book is a JLA, not a JLI as listed in the DCU list, and if all of those are actually JLAs then my additions are moot. I also found JLI books that are not on the list. Edit: If the Justice League (Europe) books are also mislabeled and should be JLI, then my discoveries below are also moot and would fit right into the known books. Does anyone have any Justice League Europe DCUs they could confirm on and/or scan? My discoveries are as follows, some with scans but I can scan all of them if desired. New DC Logo (Bullet) book Justice League of America #83 New DC Universe books Steel #2
  11. I've never had so many people ask prices on a book at a show as much as we've had on our copies of this. Lots of interest, I just wish it had translated into more sales (we only sold one of our three copies, and we were only asking $70 for really nice books).
  12. Picked up a stack of around 50 of these this weekend. I'll hopefully process them tonight and will update any that are new to the list. (It was such a fun box diving session!)
  13. Wasn't that done in the first series already? Yeah, I think Brandy got her own armor for at least a while. I can't recall the details.
  14. I agree that the general market is going to look at the label, and take comfort in that. Why should they not? The odd thing is when the label changes, and now you have more than one book floating around stating '1st appearance of XXX' like my beloved Hellboy. Now we have John Byrne's Next Men #21 and San Diego Comic-Con Comic #2 floating around stating they are the 1st appearance (older Next Men #21's, newer SDCC #2's). You'll see sellers than listing each based on what those labels state. And there will be buyers that pay a premium for Next Men #21 based on what the label states. Again - knowledge is your safety blanket. That, and having a source you can ask questions of so as to get an education of such changes. Can't disagree with anything you said. It makes me wonder if having separate threads with titles like "X-men Annual #14 is the first appearance of Gambit" would make that sort of information from these forums more easily discoverable through searches. I know that Google will sometimes find individual posts in a longer thread like this, but not always. The more accurate information out there the better.
  15. Maybe. All it confirms is Marvel released these books out of sequence, without my thought to the flow of the story. It still doesn't dismiss this being done mistakenly (nobody was saying someone mailed out the wrong box of books). But could it be time for an experiment to feel out the market reaction? And this does stay on point with the thread topic, so folks should not get excited. If someone lists an X-Men Annual #14 starting at $.99, insert something in the title to clarify this is the 1st appearance of Gambit, and include those catalog photos with some explanation. It would be interesting to see where it would end up on a 10-day listing. Anyone have a CGC 9.6 or 9.8 you are willing to list, and try it out? And remember - 'score big bucks' could be yours. I don't see anything in those catalog photos that would demonstrate that they were published out of order to someone not already versed in this debate. For the uninitiated, I can't see any level of convincing one could do in an eBay listing to get someone to pay up for a 9.8 that doesn't have the notation on the label. That goes to #266. And while I'd agree that the label notation doesn't change the contents or their significance, to someone who isn't up on the details the label provides comfort that they're buying what they're looking for, even if it isn't the actual first appearance.
  16. Looks as though there are two different versions of the Superman Wedding Album with DCU variants, with the deluxe having the UPC box on the back cover. I'll see if I can get a pic.
  17. That lower book is actually a MOS #35 if I'm reading the cover correctly. The triangle number is the reading order for Superman titles.
  18. It'll get back on the rails eventually. I'm more irritated that someone resurrected the damned apostrophe.
  19. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that "not going down anytime soon" and "good investment" may not be the same thing. I'm glad I have copies, but I'm a seller at $70, not a buyer looking for a return. This time will be different. -J.

  21. A TAT is not a policy, it's (ideally) a reflection of how long the process takes. So if they change their TATs that should give you an idea of how long the books they recently completed took them. This may or may not be how long your book takes.
  22. Graded 1/30 - that was a nice surprise My last value sat at "graded" for damn near two calendar months before shipping from what I recall. Hopefully you won't have a similar fate... Honestly at that point make a phone call. I would never have waited even 25% of that time after my books were graded. Of course I called, and was told they were in line for encapsulation. Looking back I did exaggerate a little, it was more like 45 calendar days, but still a damn long time for graded books to wait to be encapsulated even if they are in the slowest tier they offer. If they choose to take that long to encapsulate, and we choose to keep sending them books anyway, that is what we will get.
  23. I didn't realize it was the same copy I posted about a few weeks ago. Definitely a great looking .5. With this new expansion of the DC cinematic universe, I expect it to continue to trend upward. Thank goodness there are movies to help keep Batman relevant...! I was just thinking the same thing.
  24. We've been getting $20-25 for New 52 Suicide Squad #1s steadily at shows. This past weekend we got $19 for a 9.0-9.2 copy. It's tough to keep them. #7 used to be a stronger seller, but lately the #1s are more sought after and #7s have cooled a bit, at least for us.
