  2. Here are the Marvel Bullpen greats in their prime (no reserve). These pages are all large ,silver age art and rare and someone is going to be the new owners after tonight's Comic Link auction . The Kirby Journey Into Mystery page features Thor and Jane Foster while the Pre-hero Ditko recreates a little Cold War vibe as the US confronts an alien craft. When was the last time you saw a large art John Buscema Avengers page offered?( Answer: You haven't ) and a beautifully inked Gene Colan page rounds out the offerings. Needless to say , I hate parting with these masterpieces but I'm hoping that they go to a good home. If you think you would like to own one of these before the dealers grab them and double the prices get more info and bid at: https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/preview.asp?code=2023feb&itemtype=1

  4. Thanks grapeape, it's the least I can do for her putting up with me and what she calls my "Comic Coma" all these years.
  5. BTW This is inked with publisher quality ink and brush, NOT marker !

  7. Here's a chance to get that great Kirby/Lee/ Ayers classic at a reasonable price. (see pics) Like just about everybody here I am not a pro grader but if I was I would guess that it would rate it CBG 1,8 -2,0. Issue is complete with some tape on the spine and some marvel chipping with the staples still attached, but having said all of that ,this is great ,well loved "reader" that will take you back to those 60's classics. $350 OBO ,free shipping ,paypal or check .If claimed please message me here and please complete purchase in 24 hrs.
  8. I really don't see the problem here . If Mike offers a page on the show, with full transparency and you had a chance to buy it and didn't,then let whoever buys it have it (dealer or not). You didn't want it any way!
  9. There hasn’t been much talk about this ,mostly because of Covid and the fact that it’s in Ohio ,but renowned cartoonist Patrick McDonnell (Mutts) has been exhibiting his fine arts paintings for the first time at the University of Ohio in Columbus and the show is spectacular. We all know that there is a fine line between fine art and illustration and the same goes for sequential art and fine art. It is exciting to see this artists’ handling of color and space on a large scale. ( most are over four feet) especially since he has made a career of working in black and white in 4 inch rectangles. In this exhibition his talents burst onto the large canvases with energy and the same ironic humor (some times macabre) that has made “Mutts” a great read. It’s not up much longer(ends Oct 3) so if you are in the area ,Check it out ,great stuff and you won’t be disappointed! Heres the info : https://uas.osu.edu/events/side-effects-paintings-patrick-mcdonnell-2016-2021 Here’s a sample : 1.”Tweets” 36”x 60 “, 2.”It Boogles the Uni-mind” 48”x 72” 3 .”Keep an Eye on Me , Iggy” 48” x 48”
  10. There was a time when I thought I wanted to be a comic book illustrator ,maybe do some covers etc . With that in mind I created a portfolio and started bringing it around. It did get me some work as a colorist for Jim Shooters Defiant Comics (remember them?) and a teaching position at the Kubert School but that was about it so I went back to a career in Fine Arts. I’m making available this splash from that portfolio featuring old school Batman and Robin above a burning Gotham City. (11.5” x 17” acrylic on illustration board). $300 includes shipping, OBO. Paypal/US Buyers Only Message me here if interested. You can check out more of my art at charlesdavidviera.com or at Anthony’s Comic Art : https://www.anthonyscomicbookart.com/ArtistGalleryRoom.asp?ArtistId=3674&Ti=Charles_Viera
  11. How about 1/2 Price ? $200 takes these two beauties ! Free shipping !
  12. Romitaman just sold a Kamandi Splash page (with a tiny Kamandi) for $4000 inked by Berry. Kamandi is an earlier Kirby (most consider his later work like DD his lesser work) . Having said that ,it is Kirby and Royer (one of his best inkers) and it does have the title character and the prices on art seem to be going up weekly.I'm guessing that Garry is about right though I would think closer to the $6000 number. Offer it for $5000 and it should sell .
  13. "Elegant" That's the word that keeps coming to me when I look at these Don Flowers published cartoons from the 60's.These are from his "Glamour Girls " syndicated series that ran nationwide and show his talents for composition ,line quality and skill with beautiful, tasteful renditions of women. If I was setting up an apartment (or"Pad") and looking for a retro look I would want a couple of these on the walls. Don Flowers, was a noted cartoonist since the early 1930s. This is drawn on Strathmore board, and it's in very nice, clean shape. The art area is aprox. 8" x 8+1/2" Again, look at that line $400 for both + $10 shipping / Paypal or Check or CC "Takers" should please make payment in 24 hrs. (message me here also) US BUYERS ONLY

  16. Here's one more (and the last) price drop on this great page. Take another $50 off and now it's $435 (WOW!) If this doesn't find a new home this weekend then I'm offering it to one of my dealer friends in a trade and the next time you see it it will be $750......Come on true believers !
  17. So I guess my love for this page had me misjudge it's value a bit. Board members are a pretty sophisticated bunch when it comes to art values and you know when something is too much and when something is a good deal ,so with that knowledge here's a good deal . How about $485? Take a good look at the page..... That's FF's Reed and Sue in panel one ,Reed in panel six ,great John B. pencils ,(not lay outs, PENCILS !!) up and coming in value Sal B. on the inks ,cool sketches on back .$485 includes priority shipping .Let's do this !
  18. Here is a beautifully detailed page by the great John Buscema from Marvel’s flag ship book Fantastic Four #298. These are pure pencils (not layouts) by JB with inks by brother Sal Buscema. Spaceships ,monstrous villain, and Reed and Sue appearing in two panels ,what could be better ? I’ll tell you whats better …..How about some John Buscema pencil sketches on the back. (Looks like Pirates “Did ya say gold?”) There’s a guy on ebay asking $699 for a page from the same book and this one is better and over $100 cheaper. I don’t have to tell you guys that Big John’s artwork has been sky rocketing so consider this page for your collections before I change my mind. Fantastic Four #298 pg.6 (John Buscema pencils ,S.Buscema inks ) ($575 includes shipping) (NOW $485).... !!! NOW $435 !!!!! PayPal ,CC, US Buyers Only “Takers/Buyers” must complete payment in 24 Hrs Please message me if interested…..
  19. The legendary Gene Colan remains as one of the last of the original Marvel bullpen that is relatively still affordable but I don’t expect that to last much longer .Here is a great example of his artwork at the peak of his career on arguably his signature title “Tomb of Dracula”. His pencils are embellished by the equally talented Tom Palmer ,who many consider his best inker ,to create this lush masterpiece in story telling. If you are looking for super hero action then this page is not for you but if you want studied perfection in every panel by two artists at the top of their game then grab this before I change my mind. Tomb of Dracula #34 pg 27 ,1975 (Colan Pencils,Palmer inks ,10.5 “x 16”) $395 includes shipping,Paypal ,CC.US Buyers Only Please message me if interested.Takers/Buyers must complete purchase in 24 hrs
