  1. That is not Orange. It is red. Barcode shows it is the 9th printing. Both 9th and 10th printings have the same barcode. There are several other variants out there, such as Newsstand editions and a Book of the Month Club edition. For awhile, CGC also had two listings for the 14th print, 1 was labeled as 14th printing and 1 was labeled as Direct Edition. They have since corrected that mistake and label them all as 14th printing now. 2. Seems to be a lot of erroneous information in this thread. see below posts to help clear it up for you and read this thread here. Lots of info on the various printings. @Browns81
  3. I always forget about this event. Maybe next time I'll remember.
  4. I hate FedEx. They have screwed up delivery on a few packages of mine. 1 of them was my Board Secret Santa gift a few years back, which was mis-deliverd. They were absolutely not interested in helping locate the package. They made half investigation and said the driver said I signed for it. I was home all day. working in the garage and Fed Ex never even came down my street. So F them.
  5. Iron Man #77, First comic I bought with my own money back in 1975. Before that, my parents would buy books like Richie Rich, Casper, etc. I bought it for $1 from a friend and it probably is still worth $1, but, I still have it.
  6. If he paid the seller with a check, he'll get the cashed check back (or can request a copy) and can see where the check was deposited and into what account. I doubt the seller would take the check to one of those check cashing places, so, he probably put into his bank. Also possible, if he cashed it at the bank the check was drawn on, they would have verified ID and have surveillance of the transaction..
  7. Opened my gift a little bit ago. @Dr. Balls sent the complete run of King Conan 1 -19 (before the changed it to Conan the King). I had a couple of these issues, but, now I have all of them. And the ones I did have are definite upgrades.
  8. Got my gift in the mail a couple of days ago. The wrapping was coming off, so, I took it off to take a pic of it. I am guessing it is a Dr. Balls work of art and looks amazing. Might have to frame it, actually, yes I do. The gift is still sealed inside of a box, so, nothing spoiled. And, oh yeah, got my gift mailed off today, so, my recipient should have it very soon.
  9. I just went off the latest GPA sale. It can be a volatile market and GPA may not have recorded the sale you speak of. Like I said it was not a bad deal and has potential to turn into a great deal.
  10. Based on last sale on GPA ff 4 - 4.5 - $5100 IM 55 - 7.5 - $655 FF 52 - 4.5 - $1100 ASM 129 - 9.0 - $4050 + $1200 Total of $7005 in trade plus cash. Knowing that dealers won't give you full value for your trades, and his book was a bit over priced, I would say you didn't do too bad. Not a great deal, but, we've all overpaid for a book at some point. If he shows up in a movie, it could give the book a nice bump and could turn out to be a great deal for you.
  11. My grades Hit Comics #5 - 5.0 - 5.0 - Bullseye Four Color #348 - 8.5 - 9.0 +1 GI Combat #68 - 6.5 - 4.0 +5 Incredible Hulk #181 - 7.0 - 6.5 +1 Spawn #1 - 9.6 - 9.4 +1 Another +8 for me
  12. Also, look at the black line running up the spine. Looks like it got moved towards the center a bit.
  13. I'm glad it came back as a 9.0. You are correct, pics on a website don't always show the whole "picture". Congrats! Those Mr. Miracles look really nice and look real good in that frame. Nicely done. Did you frame them yourself or have it done?
  14. A few years ago, I had my Christmas raffle prize go missing. Showed as delivered and signed for. Called FedEx and was told that the driver said it was delivered and signed for by a man. No possible way. No one was home to sign for it. When I told them I wanted them to check the GPS on where it was delivered they told me they weren't going to do that since the driver said it was delivered and signed for. I will never use FedEx if I can possibly avoid it.
  15. FedEx = Most Reliable???????? They have screwed me on more deliveries than UPS and USPS combined.
