Welcome! I have a similar story - read books as a kid, stopped collecting for a while, then picked it back up as I started taking my oldest child to the comics store. Thanks Waylander, I will watch out for moisture build-up. Even with lids on there are still a few small holes in the containers so there will be some air circulation. I also plan to run an air conditioner in that room during the humid summer months.

Thanks, Ghost Town. I have seen that thread before but didn't realize it was up to 791 pages! I saw Drawer Boxes on there but those are not sturdy enough for my taste. Will keep looking through that thread for other options to consider, thanks!

So what storage options has everyone tried? We all have long and short boxes; plain low-end white cardboard or acid free E Gerber boxes. Some people us filing cabinets, some use binders, some put books on walls. At cons I started seeing some dealers put their higher end books in hard plastic legal size containers and I started checking things out. I wanted to stack some containers after having some cardboard short boxes fail and water damage soaked up from the floor, so I am trying out some hard plastic containers called Really Useful Boxes. They are from a company in the UK (with a US plant as well) and I just picked up some new "short box" replacement containers. They stack super strong, stronger than traditional plastic containers due to their honeycomb structure. I measured about a dozen different sizes and initially found that the 19L is basically the right size for comics with a little room on the sides for slide, but I realized a ** 19L XL ** is the right height so my divider tabs don't bend with the lid on. So far I am really thrilled with these boxes. Great for both sedentary storage and transporting. Anything larger would be too heavy to carry. I have some pics but can't figure out how to upload them. Thoughts on storage cases?
