  1. That's right at my sweet spot - lower grade technically but looks great! I'm still kicking myself for not trying to pick this one up ten years ago, but at that time, I thought the prices were too high. How naive I was...
  2. Good point - I upped the brightness on the scans a bit. Thanks!
  3. Standard rules apply. No HOS or Pros. I've been buying big books here for years but haven't sold yet; references include cbcnow, top city comics, and ankurj. For Sale is an Amazing Fantasy 15 CGC 2.5 C-OW. It does have moderate restoration (C-3). Details noted on the label are "color touch, pieces added, tear seals, reinforced, staples replaced". Scans were just made last night, but I can take other pictures if desired. I'll accept Paypal, money order, and checks (will wait at least 2-3 weeks for it to clear before shipping). USPS priority mail shipping is included in the price within the US. No international shipping for now (although if interested, PM me). No returns. Price: $10,000 shipped (or make an offer!) Let me know if I forgot anything! Even more pictures!
  4. Sure, but what about the rate of increase? Are both going up by, e.g., 10% a year or are plods going up more slowly?
  5. Are restored AF15s increasing similarly to blue labels? In addition to my 1.0 blue, I have a 2.5 C3 (no trimming at least). I've held on to it for a few years, but I wonder if it's better to sell and roll the money into blue label books?
  6. Wow, my 4.0 (that I paid a hefty $75 for in the mid 90s) is looking MUCH better than I thought!
  7. Finally joining the club thanks to cbcnow.
  8. And another 0.5 purple label with a (non-story) page missing to boot went for $1136.
  9. Yeah, I was watching that too. It has white pages and a nice cover, which no doubt helped. I feel like my hopes of getting an FF5 for under a grand are slipping away...
  10. And yet every low-grade copy I've seen in the last year that doesn't have a MAJOR defect goes for well over those numbers...
  11. I was trying to get this 1.0 last night for under $5k, but I gave up right before the bid got to that point: https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-incredible-hulk-1-marvel-1962-cgc-fr-10-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/121747-13450.s That seems pretty strong to me?
  12. Yeah, and in a complete brain fart, I forgot to bid until a couple hours after it ended. The person that got it is on the boards here - lucky pickup! I will continue looking for a copy under $5k...
  13. And my search for a decent looking low grade Hulk 1 continues...great deal for both!
  14. And I remembered two hours too late that I wanted to bid on this. Went for a great price imo.
  15. Does anyone have a guess as to what happened with this Hulk 1 on comicconnect? http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=709673 It was up a few months ago and ended up going for $7-8k, if I recall properly. Now it's back up with no indication that there was a previous sale. I thought it was a really strong price, but maybe the buyer backed out?
  16. Considering 2000-2009 (or so) is considered a secular bear market, I think if comics fall in value, it will be for numerous other reasons.
  17. That's difficult to answer. Seems to be all over the place. In many of the lower grades (4.0 3.5 2.5 2.0) prices spiked last Summer and then took a serious nose dive (3.5 went for $6800 in Aug). Maybe $2500-$3500 a point (although 1.0s are going for $4500) That 3.5 sale in August seems to be an anomaly though. I can't find it to see there was any obvious flaw bringing down the sale price. Other grades have not taken a nose dive at all that I see.
  18. Bought this on the boards three years ago: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=259895&Number=5728468 Finally got myself a CGC account and submitted it.
  19. My AF15 retirement fund: I settled for the restored one, thinking it was the best looking AF15 I would find at an acceptable price right before the blue label one came up. I figured it should be pretty easy to move if I want, so what's the harm in having two?
  20. Awesome book at a great price! Thanks!
