  1. Are we talking about the CBCS Pep 22 with extensive resto? Is this an IGB book? This is an not a IGB. old school resto because of the re gloss... very old shoool resto 1990's style. It was probbaly a 1.5 2.0 prior. No major pieces added or grafted. If it was IGB it would be a 9.6 ? You can see that there is a pencil mark ok the i of comics Also the spine wear is still evident and IGB wouldnt. An honest old school resto job. Well done. Definetly not An IGB Also this is not a common hulk 1 made into a 9.6 but the rarest top ten golden age book of Archie that kid named chick Only 12 unrestored cgc and 11 resto. A total of 23 books!! compared to the 66 copies of action comics 1!!! A pep 9.0 extensive sold for 30k with a logo from a a pep 30. This is on has upgrade potential via Matt nelson at ccs most likely. So a strong 7.0. An extensive 5.5 just sold for 21 250$.. This 7.0 can be upgraded since it has dirt ,pencil mark on cover and color breaking creases. Also the CW archie series should help give a good boost to previous sales. Well the Pep #22 CBCS copy sold for $20,250. Last year this same copy sold at CC for a little more than $23k.. Just goes to show that movies, tv shows, etc have no impact on GA keys, only SA and newer IMO. I think All Star 8 was seriously affected by the announcement of WW being in the Superman/Batman movie. Its gone crazy and now there are a boat load on the market. I think wonder woman was impacted by all the hoarders of all star 8, Wonder Woman 1 and sensation 1. Big dealers and smart high end collectors have cornered the market on those books and you gotta pay up to play. Can't be done with silver or later but GA is ripe for hoarders with decent bankrolls. Yup... Super cheap. Most likely the IGB stigma. The seller most likely didnt know about this since he could have just gotten CGC. The buyer must be super happy and most likely will get it regraded by CGC. Well Archie 1 is seeing a boost. Pep 22 to me is a whole lot more special. So rare and the first apperance. I agree. big dealers when they start buying books and hoarding them thats when books start going up.

  4. With the 3.5 moderate archie at 15k pep 22 is worth twice as much than an archie 1 still 8.1k last minute biddind or someone will score a deal;)
  5. Not really all the action comics 1 superman pages are brittle.... if its a page thats brittle. it doesnt matter since its protected in the case! someone nabbed a deal. a 7-8k page 4.3k is a steal
  6. The holy grail for archie collectors: http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=677629 sitting at a ridiculously low 8.1k with a 1.5 unrestore selling for 38k This 7.0 voldy with superb resto as comicconnect notes will garner 30k plus it so rare!! The rarest of the top ten of golden age grails!!
  7. I think so. A 1.8 blue sold at auction at comicconect in april 2016 for 25,500$ The CW Archie series That starts will certainly garner more following and interest for this Archie 1 presents alot higher since the cover is detached would have gotten a 5.0 with cover Im thinking 35k to 40k for this cgc blue 3.0 blue label wouldnt be surprised that it goes 45k. super rare book and iconic. 75th anniversary also anything under 25k is a major steal. 30k a bargain So, what did it sell for? sold for a nice bargain 29388$ 30k since the cw series will bring archie back on the map! As i predicted
  8. Hard to believe that that price is considered low, but you are probably right! Indeed... should be double that at 8k.... The best page to hit the open market! who knows when another superman will be availble for sale. Will be fun to see the result of this holy grail page?
  9. my tracking bid was the 10700 (under bidder)...I was coaching a bball game and couldn't big "live"... c'est la vie well said. we are healthy and someone got a bargain since we werent able to bid. we made a fellow comic collector a merry xmas bid
  10. Action comics 1 superman page ending tonite with splash panel of action comics 7 http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=678525 sitting low at 4k
  11. 11k for the 5.5.... couldnt bid? food poising last nite... should have taken up comicconnect phine bid option would have went 12-13k maybe even 15k in the heat of the moment...

Im thinking 35k to 40k for this cgc blue 3.0 blue label wouldnt be surprised that it goes 45k. super rare book and iconic. 75th anniversary also anything under 25k is a major steal. 30k a bargain
  13. If you dont bid... it might go under and fall into my hands? but yeah most likely over 10k 2.5 5k at last heritage so makes sense over 5 figures.
  14. Thanks for the heads up! Im really liking the Lasry copy and maybe the Mid december ending will help me snag the 5.5. Havent seen the 2.5. no images up yet. will have to see how it presents. So the 2.5 ended at 4900$ at heritage.... the 5.5 comicconnect still low with 4 days to go at 5.5k hopefully stays low so i can snag it?
  15. Pep 22 with only 23 cgc copies would be the rarest if it were to be in the top 10. All Star 8, sens 1, Ww1 were cold as ice before talk about her movie apperance and movie. People were even saying shes a woman so doesnt really count as a super hero. I could find these in my my old posts. Pep 22 and Archie 1 has always been in demand by serious collector's The Dentist has both Church Mile High cooies and paid a pretty penny for them. Thats why the Pep 22 didnt sell in the last ha.com auction. I suspect with the new Archie TV series on The CW january 26th will air. These books will rise in value due to renew demand and scarcity comapared to other top 10 books.

  17. Also less wear on spine and perfect centering! Lasry wind hands down in my book!!
  18. quote=Sqeggs] Maybe I should have auctioned my cookeville 5.5 copy that finally sold at sdcc. similar looking 5.5?? This one if I'm not mistaken Marc Lasry copy Both nice copies although I'd prefer the Lasry copy. Me. too. Seems much brighter, unless that's an artifact of the scans. Yes. Me too the Lasry copy has no grease pen and centering and color pops more.
  19. Tec 71 OT but I think CC makes a mistake having their last auction of the year end so late in December. (I say this from sad experience as a consignor.) I realize that they try to avoid overlapping with other auctions, but I think better that than ending on December 13. i like tec 71 but i loooooove tec 69?☁️

I realize that they try to avoid overlapping with other auctions, but I think better that than ending on December 13. We saw results from last year's auction and reached that conclusion. Too late in the year with Christmas a few days away. I'll have finished my X-mas shopping in November. Thankd for not bidding The comicconnect 5.5
  21. Maybe I should have auctioned my cookeville 5.5 copy that finally sold at sdcc. What did it sell for at the SDCC? similar looking 5.5??
  22. The 1.8 with tape on cover and interior with off white to white pages just sold on clink for 3515$ I was the underbidder but then saw that there is the 5.5 On comicicconnect from the Marc Lasry collection so held back. The 1.8 presented very nicely but this 5.5 is ure sweet and will fit my budget.
  23. Was a very nice looking 4.0 In my opinion, no shortage in demand that's for sure. Pretty sure a 1.8 sold for 1000 not too long ago. just Found this. I was the underbidde at 3169 for a top notch 4.0 on clink last year. Now the 1.8 is at 2188$ with almost two weeks left. hope its stays where is at.
