  1. CGC has not added mine but I have others listed I have stated before that in the mid 80's I bought several comics from Mile High Comics that came in a special Mylar sleeve w/certificate claiming a Mile High 2 collection/find. I just sent my third MH2 book in for grading this time without the certificate because the two previous times it was just returned with the graded comic and notification of a MH2 pedigree not on the label. I assumed from the return and lack of notation that MH2 was not an approved pedigree. Wasn't I surprised when on a recent hunt of CGC comics on Ebay that I saw a MH2 notice on the label of a Rawhide Kid comic that was graded in August of 2003. Did something change in pedigree status since 2003? Is there an added fee that I am unaware of? I know that the certificate will not be encapsulated but since I have 15 more books from this collection/find of the mid 80's if it could be noted on the label I sure would like to see that To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. 2. My extra #2 was really an extra #3 I had written before about my TMNT set that I am grading and that I had a score on a second #2 that was a second printing. I didn't recall having 2 #2's but thats what was graded and that's what was sent back to me. Well I got a call from CGC asking if I had the #2 which I did and some how there was a mix up and the #3 I had sent was replaced by the #2, they said my #3 was there and after I sent back the #2 I could get my #3. I just got my #3 today -9.6 - and I'm not terribly concerned that there was a mix up since it was corrected quickly, but I have made a mental note to make sure that I am postive of what I send and when I see something different on my order status, which I'm sure won't happen again, I will make the call before anything gets shipped out. Anything like this happen to anyone else or was this just a one time mistake? To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  3. Kawabunga Dude!! I had bought the Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles when they first came out. I remind my kids that they were created by the same stuff that created Daredevil and DD & Frank Miller were the hottest things going at that time. Well my #1 was a second printing -found that out before I shipped, never thought to look inside the front cover - it graded 9.2. I sent two #2's one 1st print that was 9.6 and a 9.8 second print. Don't recall how I came about getting 2 copies but glad I did now. I bought the first 10 or so and I think I can start sending the others in see where they might come in. This might be a set I can enter at some future date for the contest that they have going on because these are all ones I bought on the stand and seem to be able to grade up kinda high. Thanks
  4. Here's the image I promised Well I got the images sent to me today and the comics are on the way. This is my second submission and both I paid the extra for images and since the don't give both sides for the $3 fee it might be the last. I mean they give us a spot to download both on our set registry so its odd that when you pay you only get the front. Well thats not going to take away how cool the #33 Amazing Spider-man looks. 5. It was worth the wait I knew if I posted a message the comic elves would find a way to see some of my submissions to the top of the pile and they did. I could not be more happy to see that one of my early Spidey's got a 9.8 I'm from Denver and about 25 years ago Mile High Comics was selling what they called the Mile High 2 collection, the books came in a Mylar with a certificate stating as such and as I recall the charged slightly more for them. Well I picked up ones that I needed for both my Avengers and Spider-man sets and have started to send them in to get graded. CGC doesn't note the collection on label but they did send back the certificate from the first one I sent, I had no idea the story about the collection continued of the other side of the cert., I had never taken one out of the Mylar. I will post the image once it comes to me. Thanks for reading. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  6. How to cope with the wait. My second, third and now fourth submissions have all been verfied and I continue to wait. My first coupon submission went very smooth and turnaround time was right on. But these are a different story. I had hoped that as I sent another in the ones there would be on the way back not so. I try to read other journals to see how others cope but coming home from work - checking my member portal and still seeing verified is a downer.I know that paitence is a virture, but this is almost painful To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here.
