  1. Two nice higher grade books (including a pedigree) from Terry. Quick and easy transaction, slabs were well-protected in packaging. THANKS!
  2. A matter of perspective.Term insurance gave me peace of mind. A death payout is a very low likelihood, but it would have been a high impact event for my wife and kids. I don’t play blackjack. I recognize the insurance companies are not in that game to lose money.
  3. 20 yrs ago I bought $2M of 20-year-level-term insurance for about a cup of Starbucks per day. I am happy to have had the peace of mind for my family for 20 years in case I checked out, and even happier to have outlived the policy. Now that I am old and decrepit, it would cost me way to much to renew, so I recently dropped the policy. Term life insurance is a bet you WANT to lose.
  4. Kudos to CGC for not shutting this thread down. Any publicity is good publicity? Or maybe they’re trying to demonstrate that they are getting their house in order after several negative events?

  8. I’m really confused. I sent in my list #8 pick, but I can’t seem to find my pic. Where do I look?

  11. One thing I must commend: once a book is deemed "unlimited walk-through", it moves quickly. The graders' time spent on such books must be much greater than with other tiers... Sent books in 11/25, received by CGC 12/1, informed of huge fee increase 12/12, shipped 12/13, grades received as follows: Line Item: 001 Comic Description: Flash 110 12/59-1/60 D.C. Comics Category: Universal Grade: 9.2 WHITE Line Item: 002 Comic Description: Action Comics 242 7/58 D.C. Comics Category: Universal Grade: 8.0 OFF-WHITE
  12. Agree, good problem to have, but I was quite surprised by the fee!
  13. Admittedly, I have not submitted any of my Comics for CGC grading in over a decade. I submitted two books at the high value tier, at a fee of $85. Frankly, they were nice books, and I had actually hoped to send them to Joeypost for pressing before I sent them to CGC. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time to do so and wanted them before the Christmas rush to be graded. Trying to anticipate questions, the books were a Flash 110 and an Action 242. This morning I get an email that I have been moved to a walk-through tier and that they have increased my Fee for grading the two books to nearly $1300. I called to ask about what it happened, and Nicole was actually helpful in explaining what had taken place, but she was unable to tell me what the grades are that prompted over $1000 fee increase. It is just amazing to me that the fee is so high.
  14. Nice books. Difficult font, though. Easier to look at pics than to read the list…
  15. Funds sent via PP to superpalsart@gmail.com! Looking forward to this commission!!
  16. Could this be the original source for Ice Cream Kid (album cover Europe 72)?
