  3. CGC 9.6 Avatar Press The Goon #1 from 1999, original story, cover, and art by Eric Powell. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/152598880543?
  4. I love the "you should have known because it was cheaper" response. I'm bargain hunting mother F%@*er!!! How about "its not my fault the book was damaged in shipping"? Uhm, you packaged it. Poorly. In folded cardboard. And I hate you.
  5. That is pretty cool... but, I'm really digging the Voltron in the background. Is that an OG or re-issue? Picked this up over the weekend at the Rose Bowl Swap Meet for $20. Stickers on the lions says its from '81. Missing the green lion's head, but I have a spare in a bag of misc action figure parts in the garage. I definitely had this as a kid. No sword? It was probably stuck in the green lions mouth.
  6. That's a good point. There is a huge incentive to press this book, given the price difference between 9.6, 9.8, and 9.9. However, let me point this out to you: you said you have purchased 10 raws, only 2 were 9.8s, and that resubbing definitely crossed my mind - however, from the way that you said that, it seems like you never did. So maybe resubbing is not prevalent. I think for the general collecting population, the majority would not resub. Even for slab collectors, I am not confident that resubbing is that prevalent. Yeah, I've never resubbed a book or had a book pressed but I have been tempted.
  7. How many people participated, the number of raws out there and the number of books graded by "the other guys" are all factors. The number of resubs is definitely a factor as well, especially with a book this hot. Pressing anyone? This book is hard to get in 9.8. I bought about 10 raws over the years (all advertised nm/m) and got back 2 9.8s. The idea of pressing and resubbing definitely crossed my mind and I'm sure there are a lot of people who took advantage of that service especially once CGC acquired CCS.
  8. So aside from the unsigned leaked copies of the non-foil lucille variant, the b+w image expo #94 is the rarest? Seems like the price would be higher then. 9.8's are about 300-400 BIN on ebay. I'm pretty sure the print run was less than 200, at least thats what they originally stated. How much less hasn't been disclosed though, I don't think.
  9. I'm pretty sure Jon Stewart answered that question in the movie Half Baked.
  10. Kirkman has been writing the episodes so far this season. Or at least co-writing. I think this contributes to the TV show's deviation from the comics. Now, some questions to ponder and discuss... Why the virus? (this one didn't seem to require a spoiler tag.)
  11. Stuff I've done from 1998-2012. Wormwood, Wolverine, Venom and The Maxx are all property of their rightful owners. Mostly drawn with a pencil or Sharpie then scanned into Photoshop and colored. I love to draw with Sharpies. The Sepia toned pictures are from an old sketch book I did when I was a young buck.
  12. $8000 for a WD#1? Sounds like an upward trend to me. I'm assuming that's raw. That's one helluva royal tax! Based on your LCS, if you want to make some cash, buy your WD#1's here in the US and ship them over seas for MAD CASH!
  13. Only 1800 for a modern??? yawn Yup this book is garbage You have to remember, there were people in this thread stating the book was never going down in value and would be over $5k after the series comes back on. Who?
  14. I would love to hear how. It is over! Do you even read the series? It's at it's most interesting right now and they are about to publish twice a month with a new story arc...interest for the comic is huge. The show will be back with big surprises and the #1 will always fluctuate in price (just like all major keys). I disagree with anyone who says this book will fade away. It will always be a key...price may balance out a bit but won't change the significance of this really cool comic. My .02 cents When did I say fade away?I just said for 3 years now realistic levels eventually. The momentum of the show has staled with season 3 being IMO a stinker.A lot of my friends who only watch the show are not very excited anymore about the show, and they didn't even know the half of it since I had to tell them even worse news how bad the prison arc and the Governor was depicted on-screen.I could be wrong, but I am seeing no reason that when Season 4 starts Walking Dead #1 will be heading back up. Books is crawling on eBay to hit above $1700 (even those the perceived collectible Black labels). We have a few factors going on here that might make the bubble pop.The Walking Dead show is starting to remind people of Lost. Lost was cool in the beginning that it became pedestrian. Also Zombies are becoming boring.Case in point World War Z mediocre results at the box office.and probably the biggest factor is all the cool geeks are now moving on to this.Game Of Thrones Season 3 – Official Trailer by FanReviews Game of thrones is awesome but its 3 seasons deep and for the record, any "cool geek" can follow more than one show at a time. I also really enjoyed season 3 of the walking dead. Remember that opinion is just that, opinion. This thread is dumb.
