BLI con was better this time for buying than last year due to the gentleman that brought out ex-store stock from 17 years ago that was warehoused. Bit surprised that there were so many round tables set up in the side room next to the cafe for folks to eat and chat. Half of that space could have been used for wall table vendors.
Yeah. The dining tablespace has been a thing the last couple of years I've attended.

Don't know if anyone is still following this thread... But....
Today was the Bellingham Con and I had a really good time. Roger Sweet was the kindest and nicest celebrity I've ever met. I'm going to be putting together some of the video I got from this convention and sharing it here once I have it compiled and rendered.

I'm going to this con as well. I'm a big fan of sketch cover commissions.

I have 15 copies from 3 different sources, and they all have the same defect. As I mentioned before this defect may have affected the entire print run. Hopefully not but .....
Well, this sucks.
Thank you.

Today my replacement copies for the blank variant of PUNISHER #1 came in from Midtown Comics. And just like my first order, they are suffering cover damage. So now I'm coming here. Does anyone have any of the blank variants I could buy from them that are in great condition?
Send me a privet message to work out the details.

Hi Transformer fans!
Does anyone know if you can or could have bought #81 RI-B (blank cover) with out an artists sketch on it? The info I found says there is? I have never found one. Did it come right from IDW with a sketch on it? If it did come from IDW with a sketch on it, would it get a blue label? I have only found them to have a sketch on them? Anyone know?
Thanks a bunch!
Good question! So as the story goes, IDW shipped 100 of these books to Dan Khanna. Dan Khanna was to draw on all 100 and ship them out to comic book stores that ordered enough. However, not enough stores ordered enough for Dan Khanna to run out of copies. The result is that Mr. Khannah would take these books to conventions and sold every last one of them. At one point before I knew this information I contact Mr. Khannah and he confirmed he no longer has any copies of Transformers: Regeneration One #81 RI-B.
It's worth knowing that the paper they used for this blank cover was mess. Glossy, Slick, whatever you want to call it. This is why when you search for images of this cover on google or ebay the sketches done on it are super simple. It's because the paper is a nightmare to work with.

They were blank and sent to an artist to do TF sketches on, and then sent out to the stores who ordered enough #81. .
I agree with Zekebarrett here. It's very possible Dan Khannah waited until a store sold enough copies of Regen One before he drew on a cover. So if the story is true and not enough stores sold enough Regen One for all 100 copies that Mr. Khannah had, it's possible he took blank copies to conventions and to fill commission requests from the convention. This means its also possible that he sold them to fans just as blanks or someone stole some from him. Sad mess like that happens. It's also possible that IDW could have printed off extra as a just in case. With that said, believe me, or not, I have seen a blank one out in the wild. Once.

Just out of curiosity how much would you plunk down for that book? I want to know what kinda of competition I have should one ever appear.

I figured my issues were the result of printing. Might even explain why I haven't seen a single one show up on eBay? I don't know. I sure wish Midtown would inspect their blanks before shipping them to customers. It's just costing them more in the long run.
Well, I got an e-mail from Midtown regarding the dented punisher blanks.
"We apologize for the damage sustained by your items. At this time we would like to offer you a credit of 25% of the original price that you paid for the books to make up for the unexpected damages. Please let us know if that is how you would like to proceed."
So now I'm calling them in the morning.

Forgive me, everyone. My browser freaked out and now I have posted the same thing several times. Trying to figure out how to delete them.
UPDATE: Well searching around the boards here seems like people have been asking how to delete posts but the option isn't available to us mere mortals. My sincere apologies. I'll keep looking into this but it doesn't look good.
