  4. Oh sweet Jebus.....I just had flashbacks to 1991 again.....thanks for that
  5. I see a lot of people in this thread talking about how this book is "dead" and that no one wants it anymore. I still see and hear about it selling pretty well. Yes, it may not be bringing in $800 for a 9.8 copy of the TB variant, but lets be honest here.....did anyone think that was really gonna last? I still see this as a book that has legs and will do well, even in spite of the production delays. Now on another note, are they ever gonna create a registry set for this book?
  6. Just got this bad boy in the mail and i was floored by the condition it is in! I honestly believe this is the best looking copy of this book that I have seen yet, especially given all the known production flaws that most of them have. This books is great! 7. To me the UXM title really went downhill from the #290's and didn't pick up again until around the Pop-topia storyarc. Basically all of the 300's were to me. I know this is heresy as some people think of AoA as the second coming, but the art was too cartoonish/anime'ish and the writing was nothing to write home about. The whole 400's were hit or miss, but I would say on the whole pretty good. As a matter of fact one of my favorite story lines of all time was in here, the "She Lies With Angels" story. Absolutely fabulous It may be my age and the fact that these were out when I was a kid, but I love the stories from "The Mutant Massacre" all the way through the end of the Muir Island Saga were great. It had some of the best art ( Jim Lee, Fabian Nicezia, Marc Silvestri, etc...) and setup stories that still reverberate throughout the X-universe today.
  8. I personally have no problem with a green label provided it is a signature I can verify myself either through pictures or that I have a signature to compare it against (preferably both) Case in point.....I have a Green Label Mad that I had Sergio sign for me that is hanging on my wall. It is definitely a keeper! If you are doing it for investment/flipping purposes however it wont work out well for you as most people place Green Labels just a hair above PLOD's
  9. "1 in the stink" ?!?....... damn dude.......just.......damn.......
  10. Thought that I would post there here as well as in the other forum....proud of my new precious! I firmly believe this is one of the most undervalued books on the market. IMG_1832 by netranger78, on Flickr
  11. Just got this in the mail today. Am VERY proud of this book. IMG_1832 by netranger78, on Flickr
  12. That's my old copy. I had Neal Adams sign it in Dallas last year. I thought I recognized it, I was there when you had it signed. I am not a Neal Adams fanboy like some people here, but that cover is pretty awesome!
  13. Just got this from a boardie to add to my Dave Cockrum collection: IMG_1831 by netranger78, on Flickr Got these two in a mystery box deal that I think I did extremely well on: IMG_1829 by netranger78, on Flickr IMG_1830 by netranger78, on Flickr
  14. there was a CGC SS copy of that Wolverine: Origins Canadian Variant for sale here a few weeks back.....still kicking myself for missing that one
  15. My wife has been telling me that Sex was horrible for years......damn, she was right.
  16. Got me one for cover......figure it is a low risk bet for $3
  17. It was just great art and writing that still holds up today. I have the hardback collected editions and i have ZERO problems letting either of my children read them without supervision.....hard to say that about many other books
  18. I am always on the lookout for these as i have fond memories of them from my Grandfather when i was a kid. He got me started reading on Little Lulu and the like. Am I the only one that has a hard time finding them in any decent condition though? Maybe I am just looking in the wrong place
  19. Need some advice from the board. I have a Thought bubble that is probably a 9.4 now and will be a 9.8 with a press without a doubt. My dilemma is this.....i am leaving the US and all of my ungraded collection for the next two years soon so I am trying to unload some books that i think have the potential to change a good amount in price. Do you think i should dump it now, or does it have two years worth of legs?
  20. Just picked this up.....paid a little bit more than i wanted to, but i dont see 9.8's in SS come along too often and this was one of the seminal books of my childhood.
  21. Jeff is a stand up guy that i have had the opportunity to meet several times over the years, amazingly enough never at a Con. If he is charging for sigs and donating it to the CBLDF, then I say more power to him. I have zero problem paying that for a sig if it is going to a good cause....the ones i have a problem with are the people who charge exorbitant amounts for a sig just to pad their wallet.
  22. My personal take on it is that it will have some legs until she shows up in Age of Ultron, then it will drop
  23. That Bone piece is pretty sweet....i want two pieces of original artwork before i am through (right now I have none).....one is a good piece from Jeff Smith and the other is a Dave Sim piece Nice pick!
  24. Well I was pleasantly surprised today. Had an Modern Fast Track order with an invoice date of 02/11/13 and it shipped today. Wasn't to happy with 2 of the 14 grades, but other than that, no complaints
  25. Hey.....my thought bubble is still pretty damn l33t......you only say it isn't because you don't have one!
