  1. Just picked up on this thread, and I wanted to share my Spidey collection details. I finished off my complete ASM run a couple of years ago ( really, the only thing that keeps me buying ASM is to keep the collection complete, especially since BND almost made me end the run!) I have all of the Annuals, Giant Size, etc. I also have complete runs of Spectacular S-M, Web Of, Spider-Man, Untold Tales, etc. even have a complete run of Marvel Team-Up. Now I am basically just upgrading any issues if I come across higher grade copies.
  2. Here's mine. Nice copy except for the massive amounts of overspray!
  3. Here is a sketch I did of my kids. Thinking of making this a painting.
  4. Lots of very nice stuff on here. Since people were sharing their training, I thought I would share mine - I am agraduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art ('93) where one of my fellow classmates in Illustration was (befoer he dropped out) none other than Brian Bendis! (He was of course, skinnier and had hair back then!) I remember the instructors got so frustrated with him because he took every assignment and turned it into a super-hero based illustration! He wasn't the best in our class, but I daresay he went on to become the most successful!
  5. Out of curiosity, what did you charge for the piece? I am thinking of selling this one?
  6. Just finished this one - 20x30 ink on cold press illustration board.
  7. Here is my entry - with a question. I bought this years ago already slabbed, and I have always wondered as to why it only grades out to a 1.0 ( I never cracked the slab and inspected it, obviously). The cover looks quite sharp except from the chipping on the spine and the tape pull. It may be detached, but is complete and it seems like a 1.0 is a pretty harsh grade. I would welcome any feedback from the group.
  8. Hello All New(ish) to the boards and I just came across this thread. I own a complete run of Amazing, #1 through whatever issue they are on now (I'll admit they all are starting to blend together with this 2-times a month schedule) My #1 is CGC 3.0, all of the rest are raw, mid-to high grades. I also have complete runs of Spectacular S-M, Web Of, Marvel Team Up, Spider man (1990's), as well as all of the Annuals and Giant Size issues. It took me the better part of 30 years to complete these runs (most were bought off the rack) and I'm pretty proud of my collection!
  9. Here is my #1. I actually picked up an autographed copy, then met Me Smith at Mid Ohio in 1997 and he did the additional sketch. Please forgive the dust on my scanner - needs a good cleaning!
  10. Late arrival to the forum here - here is an interesting item I picked up at Mid Ohio in the 90's - I also met Mr Smith and had my #1 first print signed. I'll scan and post that next.
  11. Being a lifelong Spider Man fan, I always held ASM 121-122 as my favorite storyline. Then one day many years later I read Art Spiegelman's Maus:My Father Bleeds History. I've yet to read anything else that shook my world like that book.
  12. I have about 40 long boxes. However, the 3 long boxes featuring complete ASM run (including AF 15) > the other 37 boxes (mostly SA and BA Marvels & DC's)
