Personal Information

  1. heheheh. I'm not too old for the epic rides, just the crazy nights drinking playing SNES and other consoles with my biking mates until 3am the morning before the ride! A bacon sandwich always fixed us! Ah, the good old days!
  2. mmmmmm.. Holly Willabooby... <3 Great pics from the Lakes Batmeister. Stunning scenery. I used to do similar before epic cross country bike rides...not possible these days, too old now.
  3. What do you call a deer with no eyes?? Anyone from Newcastle in here? I'm heading there tomorrow for a few days to visit my sister and her young family, and want to try and visit any LCS's in the area, and introduce my little Nephew to a comic shop!! Anyone know of any good shops up there? A google search reveals a FP (bleh) and 'Travelling Man'. Tanks in a vance.
  4. Pleased to find this thread. I'm gonna enjoy trawling through it, but first, I'll share my recent comic related sketches from this weekend. Yesterdays 'tec 31 recreation. not fussed about accuracy, just free hand to practice with my crappy felt tip pens. and today, a Bats sketch based on a JLI panel
  5. You'll hate it. All right kiddies, I'm going to shock you all by stating that Man Of Steel is NOT A STINKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact, it is a very decent film indeed - DC's best, with the exception of TDK, by some distance. The acting is a little wooden in places, and the dialogue does quite often slip into portentous genre guff, but on the plus side - Cavill IS Superman, the plot and logistics generally were worthwhile if not ambitious, the direction was above average (yes, Snyder does good) and above all else, it is a rather good ride, with quite definitely the best action sequences and SFX ever seen in a super-hero film. I even liked Kevin Costner's turn as Pa Kent, whilst the rest of the leads acquitted themselves pretty well. And Michael Shannon was born to be Zod. Better than the Avengers, chaps. A little too long it has to be said, and overall a remarkably dark, gritty work that lacks the humour of the Marvel flicks (and certainly jars with the Donner version) but them's small quibbles. It's a good film!!!! Why didn't you post all of that in the MoS threads. I am EXCITED now! Better than Avengers?? Wow, must see it!!
  6. Love that Vic n Bob sketch, hadn't seen it before.
  7. Arrived this morning from the good ole US of A. Thanks to MCS. I couldn't afford it, but I couldn't resist it either.
  8. Around 1,500 I think. I'm in the (on-going, and often interrupted) process of cataloging them.
  9. Reading FC...Champions ...again... back in the top flight maybe we'll get some of our old players back from Wolves now..
  10. is the right answer. It could be that "up to 5 ticks" that the above poster mentioned seeing on a 9.0, could also get you an 8.5, or some other grade, on a different book.. I wish there was a definitive answer to this too. Sorry, but I don't think there is, at least certainly not from CGC. Perhaps some seasoned veterans (collectors/dealers) out there have established their own methods though, I'd be interested to hear about those.
  11. groovey..I'm in no rush, just wanted to let you know that I'm a prospective customer. Cheers.
  12. I've just been catching up on this thread, and going back to the posts about selling to other UK boardies - I'm interested to see any spreadsheets of any for sale comics if you have them. or just your eBay id. So send me a PM if you are selling. I've found one of you on eBay so far. I'm mostly after Bats & Tec, with dablings into other stuff as well. Cheers!
  13. Bonjour. I just stumbled across the 'polls' section, and saw this thread, so I just thought I'd say hello... hello!
