  1. I notified the other party I will be keeping the Action 23 with me. The other party (Not Quadman) agrees that would be best under the circumstances. I apologize to the board for any procedural errors, misconceptions or ill will towards any party involved.
  2. The book was on HOLD not SOLD. I placed it on HOLD to figure out if I wanted to sell it to a buyer out of the country and see what his ideas were. He wanted a third party and this was looking like more trouble than it was worth. As far as not knowing who he is no I don't. I mostly lurk as my post count will attest. I am not KAV and I am not going completing any 10,000 dollar transactions unless I feel comfortable with the buyer, terms, payment, shipping etc. This was on HOLD to see what the potential buyer had to say. What he said was I live in another country, I would like a third party.
  3. Im not sure what to say here other than I will not be shipping any book to Quadman78. We can argue the semantics of "HOLD" but I am not letting a book go in a transaction that I don't feel comfortable with. I would require a check or MO but that does not negate any risk on my part. Apparently going forward I will have to put a wall of legalese in my posts.
  4. I am the seller. I just saw this thread. Normal rules means ill take in in the thread wins. I don't want PayPal on a huge transaction because I do other things (Ebay etc) I believe I have the right of refusal. The member lives in Canada and has been on the board a year. I asked about the address and he says he has a US address. To send a 10k book to an address where someone lives is kind of murky even if a relative or something. He then wanted to do a 3rd party and at this point im seeing too many things going on. I decide to send my 10,000 book to an established boardie in the USA who've I've dealt with many times before and I trust. This is not some 20, 100, or even 1,000 book. I did not accept the ill take it because of location and I placed it on HOLD until we can agree on TERMS. I did not like the terms. BEFORE ANYONE JUDGES WHATS GOING ON PLEASE ASK YOURSELF WHAT YOU WOULD DO WITH YOUR 5 FIGURE BOOK.
  5. I have only bought one book from TT. It was a less expensive GA book in the FN range. When it arrived the front and back cover were LAMINATED and there was no mention of this anywhere. WTF?
  6. From those of us that know how tough tickets are to find.
  7. I have a question for the experts. I remember that when SC had a big bunch of Baker books a couple months back there was some chatter about some of them not being on the census yet. There was a Cinderella Love 25 that sold and by looking at GPA it was a 6.0 and has never shown up. I saw the 5.5 on CL and wanted to search a bit, this copy looks to be the 2nd 5.5 and I guess the 6.0 was regarded a 7.5? The timelines make sense but the 6.0 is nowhere to be found on CGC Data. Is it pretty normal to have things not show up on CGC Data? Does anyone know if this book was indeed bumped to a 7.5 or is this 5.5 the old 6.0 (graded about 2 months after 6.0 auction) Thanks Rory
  8. This is a tough ticket to get. Here is mine I feel this book is way undervalued and under appreciated.
  9. Tec 33 is where the origin in TOLD not retold
  10. Someone taking a shot on a raw book is different. I hesitate on raw books because of disagreement on grade/potential for restoration. Having to navigate that mitigation of risk is different from buying a slabbed blue label. The person who brought it here im sure hesitated because he was looking for an opinion of value not to let out the hounds. The book was bought before he made up his mind either way from the sound of it. You could be a stand up guy and pass the book on to a collector for the 1200 that you paid for it. There arent many of these around and having my name/book marked for a grand is simply not worth it to me. Alot of others agree.
  11. Does anyone know the history on this? It was mentioned in another thread that this and the other early TECS may have had detached covers that were recently fixed with tape. Im not going to bid. There arent many of these and I dont want to own one with a scarlet letter attached to it.
  12. Anyone have any idea what the Tec 33 4.0 on Comiclink will bring?
