  1. SPAWN 265 GOLD SKETCH EDITION (BLANK COVER) - CUSTOM COMMISSION - PHILIP TAN SKETCH I didn't bother to block out the cert number because this is a custom, one-of-a-kind piece of art. I chased down Philip Tan's agent, Kirk Dilbeck, and spoke with him about a custom commission. Working with Dilbeck was a very pleasant experience, and we were able to arrange the commission for the San Diego Comic Convention back in 2017. I gave Tan about five different detailed ideas/designs for the commission and told him to pick whichever one tickled his fancy. Waiting to see which design he picked was a joy in itself! When I unboxed this one, it literally took my breath away! You already know that I was a huge fan of his work on the series, and I think I like this piece better than any of his "actual" Spawn covers! While it didn't hurt much to part with it at the time, I'm pretty devastated that I made the decision to do so. This is a really special book! If you own it, hit me up! I'd like to buy it back. I would also like to thank Doug Peters for acting as my witness. He handled the book perfectly! Maintaining 9.8 status was top priority for me. Y'all know by now that a "lowly" 9.6 just wasn't going to do it for me. To everyone who was involved with this - THANK YOU! I'm sure it's a very, very bright spot in someone's collection. ...and if you think this is awesome...you might want to check back in tomorrow to see a custom GUNSLINGER design that smokes any Gunslinger cover out there. Yeah. It's THAT good.
  2. SPAWN 266 VARIANT SKETCH COVER - CGC 9.8 During the next two days I will post two of the absolute coolest books in the entire collection. ONE OF A KINDS. Stay tuned. Seriously. You're going to want to see these.
  3. SPAWN 266 VARIANT COVER - CGC 9.8 I forgot about SO many dialogue bubble covers! Here is the Todd McFarlane variant.
  4. SPAWN 266 - SKETCH COVER - CGC 9.8 Hold tight. There are TWO more variants for issue 266. AND it looks like I forgot the red and gold edition "blank" covers for issue 265! I will post them when I finish the 266 sequence. Trust me, you are DEFINITELY GOING TO WANT TO SEE THESE! A custom sketch commission by Philip Tan and another by Ash Gonzalez. I was a dad-blame FOOL for selling those!!!! Seriously. They are SO good (honestly better than 95% of the actual covers) that I'm literally tearing up right now. What was I thinking?
  5. You will. I sold a copy with a "Bonnett's stamp", and I deeply regret it.
  6. SPAWN 266 - CGC 9.8 I guess it was only a matter of time before the Savage Dragon showed up!
  7. SPAWN 264 - SKETCH COVER - CGC 9.8 Had your fill of these sketch covers yet? See why I got so exhausted with it all? This part of the collection stops at 275, so we don't have long left before we finish up the regular title. Thanks for hanging around!
  8. I mean, it could be. Like I said earlier, it could be a variety of things: 1. Poor color strike when printed. 2. Inconsistencies in the ink from batch to batch. 3. UV exposure 4. Inconsistencies in the photos/scans themselves...lighting...settings...etc.
  9. I remember the thread. At the time, I'd just dropped a pretty sizable amount on another comic, or it probably would have been mine. ;)
  10. HOF 17 is definitely in my most wanted list. It's my favorite EC cover, and I have a LOT of favorite EC covers!
  11. SPAWN 263 - CGC 9.8 Hmm...this cover ain't THAT bad. Another dialogue bubble on the cover! I guess there were more than I remember
  12. Yep. Same issue. Different books. Color variance is normal for a number of reasons. Some issues may have faded out more over the years due to exposure. In other instances it's a matter of inconsistency in the color strike itself or the inks that were used. Remember, the goal was to put the product out as cheaply as possible. That took importance over the quality of the print.
  13. SPAWN 262 - SANDOVAL VARIANT - CGC 9.8 More fire from Sandoval! Creep engine slab. You can see the scanner light reflecting off the wrinkled Mylar layer they used to sandwich it together,
  14. SPAWN 262 - CGC 9.8 Many a pencil has been saved by the competent pen.
  15. SPAWN 261 - CGC 9.8 - SANDOVAL VARIANT This is probably my favorite Sandoval sketch. I love Violator!
  16. Yes, you should always be prepared to lose 100% of any investment. 5% isn't a lot. At least you're purchasing some sort of asset.
  17. Can you afford to completely part with 5% of your net worth? If so, carry on. If not, reconsider what you're doing. Also, the main issue with collectibles is liquidity. Keep that in mind. The fact that you're even asking about this tells me that you are already anxious about your spending in this regard. You tell yourself that you would be okay if it lost half its value. Are you lying to yourself about that?
  18. SPAWN 260 - SANDOVAL VARIANT - CGC 9.8 Killer cover by Sandoval! Loving his variants.
