  1. The seller also posted pics which avoided showing the bent inner well corners.
  2. The plastic on the inner well is bent in several places on the corners like it was folded. I don't see how the inner case could be bent after encapsulation. Is it possible CGC encapsulated it with the inner well corners bent? As far as the grade, it isn't the worst 9.8 I've ever seen. There are a couple small color breaking spine ticks. I can post scans once I get home.
  3. I recently bought this New Mutants #98 CGC 9.8 on eBay. The label clearly looks like it's been tampered with. The inner plastic around the label on the inside of the case looks like it was pealed back and bent. The plastic pins along the top of the case also look like they've been popped. Has anyone else seen this type of tampering before? Is there a way I can report this seller to CGC? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
  4. I also take: Justice League #50 Silver Surfer #1 x3
  5. I'll take: Spider-Gwen #1 x2 Supergirl Rebirth #1 Steve Rogers Captain America #1
  6. I'll take: Batman #306 Amazing Spider-man #191 Amazing Spider-man #206 Amazing Spider-man #213 Amazing Spider-man #220
  7. Great pickup! I think it is one of the best covers in the run
  8. It has been the honeymoon phase for the last several years, but this is the comic book community I remember. Advice for the newbies: don't argue with the old sharks. These are the people that will scam a comic book from a twelve year old if it makes them a couple bucks. They aren't interested in giving you helpful advice. They don't want you to learn. They want you paying them to press your books. They like you as long as they are making money off of you.
  9. I agree and it's a valid point. But has CGC ever given their standard? Because lately it seems like it's really changed from what I have expected for over a decade.
  10. I was under the impression a spine tick is an indent (or impression) along the spine that doesn't break color.
  11. It is not a spine tick. It is a color breaking spine tick. Can you please provide the grading standard that states color breaking spine ticks/stresses are allowed in 9.8's? I'm not familiar with it. Overstreet which has been around a lot longer than CGC clearly states it is not allowed for a 9.8. Actually, color breaking spine stresses aren't even allowed in 9.6's. CGC deliberately doesn't give clear guidance on their grading standards so they can get away with this. I bet you if I cracked this slab and submitted in 10 times it wouldn't get a 9.8. It only got a 9.8 because of the submitter. One of CGC's largest customers.
