  1. Coming to the end of the first week, and we just passed 50% funded. So things are going pretty well! But it's been a lot more work this time than with most of my previous campaigns. For whatever reason, we're actually several hundred dollars behind where the first issue campaign was at the same point. So I am really grinding this one out, prooting it everywhere possible in a never ending losing battle against social media algorithms. It can definitely be a tough row to hoe, so I really appreciate all the support you guys have bene giving me, it helps a lot! I had been hoping to start working on the third issue at this point as well, but I've decided I better hold off until I see how this campaign ends up doing. Even if I hit my goal there's a reasonable chance I may still lose money on this issue, so I don't want to start spending more until I find out whether there's enough interest to warrant a third issue. I've got a big cross-promotion with the folks at Miskatonic High coming up, so we'll see how that imapcts anything. Once they are live I'll post all the details here. Still a long ways to go! Here's the link again if you didn't see it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thecrimebusters/cthulhu-vs-uncle-sam-2?ref=93y8kv
  2. My new comic Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #2 is now live on Kickstarter just in time for Halloween. I wrote this issue, though the interior art was drawn by another artist. I did however do one of the variant covers, which is obviously an homage. I do love homage covers, what can I say. I'm basic like that! Here's the cover I did for this issue: For those interested, here's the regular cover by interior artist Jay Piscopo. Since I didn't draw it myself, I'll put it behind spoiler tags:
  3. Well, it took 15 months of work, but my new comic Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #2 is now live on Kickstarter. I'm really happy to finally have this done and get it out there to the world! Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thecrimebusters/cthulhu-vs-uncle-sam-2?ref=cux6cc Thanks all!
  4. Man, I have been so busy I haven't had a time to post any updates here. Sorry about that! But I wanted to let everyone know that my newest comic, Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam #2, is coming to Kickstarter next week, October 27, just in time for Halloween. When cultists summon Cthulhu to attack New York City at the height of World War II, Uncle Sam has to call on the aid of Lady Liberty in order to save America! Here's the link to the pre-launch page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thecrimebusters/cthulhu-vs-uncle-sam-2/ And here's this issue's batch of covers. Thanks for all your support!!
  5. One time price drop to $260, including shipping to the US. Please don't make me send this to those rabid fiends on ebay. Let's work together to find this classic a new home.

StarSlayer #2, first Rocketeer in CGC 9.8 WHITE pages $280 $260 shipped to U.S. - add $25 to send to Canada, as noted above No graders notes on this one
  7. One more Crimebuster related Kickstarter coming up, but this one in particular I really wanted to share with you all. That's because I'm super honored to be able to present a never before published cover by the legendary George Tuska. Tuska, of course, made his name at Lev Gleason and worked on some of Crimebuster's original stories in Boy Comics, so being able to present a new Crimebuster cover featuring his art is really humbling for me. It will be the cover for the Crimebuster 80th Anniversary Special, which is a 100-page giant in the DC tradition, featuring selected Golden Age reprints, as well as a colorized and remastered edition of my Crimebuster story from Crimebusters #1 (aka Boy Comics #120). Here's the cover: Fans of the series will recognize, as I did, that this image is based off the classic cover from Boy Comics #6 - note the same tree, house, and outfit on Iron Jaw. The full pencils for this were commissioned by a friend of mine who, along with the Tuska family, has given his go ahead to publish this. I then had the full pencils inked by DC and Archie artist Andrew Pepoy, and had it colored as well by colorist Shayne Cui. This is one project I'm probably going to lose money on, but it's totally worth it to be able to get this cover out there - and to get one in my own collection! The Kickstarter starts on August 15, but you can check out the pre-launch page now and hit the "Notify Me on Launch" button to make sure you don't miss it. Printing a book this size on demand isn't cheap, so I may not have any extras after this campaign ends. Thanks everyone!!
  8. CLOSED! Thanks everyone, invoices coming shortly.
  9. Okay, last call! Let's do 15% off everything that is left. I will be closing this tomorrow. How times have changed! If I had offered this MS #5 at this price last summer, they would have made me Mayor of Earth.
  10. Okay, 10% everything left in the thread, including the Marvel Spotlight #5. Books that are left: Page One Journey Into Mystery #103 Page Two Marvel Premiere #15 Strange Tales #169 Sensation Comics #66 Mad #20 & 22 True to Life Romances #14 Page Three Marvel Spotlight #5
  11. Marvel Spotlight #5 7.0 - $3000 Payment for this is by check only, no Paypal. This is a beautiful, super tight copy. Defects to take note of: the main one is the tiny tear upper right corner which led to a small crease running up to top edge from it. There's also a very slight color breaking finger bend on the right edge by the trademark TM, and another on the bottom edge between the OF and ALL. One small, faint spine tick at top of top staple. Back cover has very slight browning (foxing?) along bottom left edge/corner and a little at top left corner. This comic is glossy, the colors are fantastic, and it is as tight and flat as a drum head. I'd swear it had never been opened, except I know I read it once when I bought it 30 years ago. It looks and feels like it just came off the stand. I ran this by the grading forum a while back and the consensus based on the technical flaws was 7.0, so I'm going with that. Looks and feels better to me. I love this comic book, it's one of the jewels of my collection. But I'm committed to making comics. I want to find it a good home with someone who will love it for another 30 years.
  12. Secret Hearts, My Secret Life, and Love Letters are sold per pm.
  13. I have one more book coming at some point, I just have to talk myself into it, as it's one of my favorite books. Might be tomorrow depending on how long my mourning period lasts.
  14. SOLD per PM Secret Hearts #83 2.5 - $350 The source of Roy Lichtenstein's most famous work, Drowning Girl, stolen shamelessly from Tony Abruzzo. A copy recently sold on ebay for $400 - it looked nicer, but with a big tear on the fc and worse page quality, which matters here since the splash is the money shot. Mine has the tear on the bc 😁 So I'll put this at $350 and see how it goes.
  15. SOLD per PM My Secret Life #24 2.5 - $175 Again, no idea what this is worth. It's from Fox, and has their usual salacious content - a woman gets taken in by a con man who kidnaps her before cops seize him at gunpoint; another married woman gets involved with an old flame, leading to a fist fight on the front lawn; and a jealous nurse bullies a pregnant woman into attempting suicide. This is a Canadian edition, but it's a bit odd. It's in full color unlike other Canadian editions I have seen; it also contains all the stories on the cover, which is the same as the US edition. I have the sense that this might not be missing any content like many Canadian editions are. However, I'm not sure, because this appears to be on the rare side - it's the only issue of the series that hasn't been indexed by the GCD so I can't compare interiors.
  16. SOLD per PM Love Letters #51 3.5/4.0 - $195 I have no idea what this is worth. It's a Matt Baker cover, and the last issue of the series. I have a sense it's not that easy to find. There's chipping along the spine, especially at the top staple. Both staples still attached, and the book is actually pretty tight.
  17. True to Life Romances #14 2.0 - $90 One of L.B. Cole's better romance covers in my opinion, which nobody asked for. The cover is detached at the top staple. Bottom staple is still attached, but I have no idea how. I wouldn't count on it. A differently messed up copy sold on ebay recently for $90, so we're going to try that.
  18. The next group will be romance - Baker, Cole, Lichtenstein, Fox. Might not be until tomorrow, though. As always with romance, sales data is hard to come by, so I am going to mostly be winging it with my prices. If something you're interested seems too high, send me a PM and maybe we can work something out. If something seems priced too low, also feel free to PM me with a much higher offer. I think that's how it works, right?
  19. Mad #20 - 2.5 - $40 Mad #22 - 1.5/1.8 - $30 or take both for $60 Mad #20: some chipping on spine, there's also a moisture ring on the fc you can only see if you tilt the book at an angle to the light. The book feels a bit floppy. Mad #22: A solid book except the spine is split form the bottom up past the bottom staple to about the midpoint. Still attached at the top staple. I love both these covers!!
  20. Sensation Comics #66 2.0 - $115 This book is tight and flat. The main issue is a weird spine split - it's split in the middle, between the two staples. Cover is still attached, but also toasty. Interior pages have some tanning at the corners especially, but feel supple. A nice book that was handled well but not stored properly.
