  1. Different ways to get these. Like you mentioned sometimes a rep will facilitate something through cgc where the artist will draw and or sign it with cgc being right next to them and they'll be mailed out after grading. In other cases the artist or their rep can mail it out to cgc if it was a commission and want it it graded as a sig series. Usually, though you'll go to a con and provide your own blank variant comic, and if you want it CGC'ed you get a CGC witness from their booth (If they're setup at that con) to go with you to pick the piece up from the artist so they know it isn't fake and drop it off at their booth for on-site grading. If they don't finish it by the time the con ends they'll mail it to you.
  2. I need to start networking more. I talk to maybe 3 collectors on an on-and-off-again basis.
  3. It's finally here. Very few thought this day would ever come. I'm curious about something and wondering if the people who buy these more often would know but does Marvel normally use just one source for bonus images when it comes to original art? I looked at some online reviews and noticed that when they showed pictures of original art in the book, besides the splash page and one unpublished cover all of the images they used came from previous Heritage Auctions which is weird since CAF has a huge selection of material they could have included and might have even used it when getting the images for the original art splash page to issue 1 unless they got it from Sal's art rep.
  4. Yeah great cover image. Skeletons always seem to add a premium to any horror cover verse any other creature.
  5. I recently read his Dr. Fate mini which was the runup to the series and greatly enjoyed it along with the unique art style done for it. Even made me go out and hunt down a page from it. RIP
  6. Success! The first deal was completed. Want to thank @Lee B. for helping put me in touch with the seller.
  7. Giving this a bump. I might have a possible deal on the line but still interested if anyone else has any pages they'd be interested in sharing. Thanks.
  8. Some pieces I've had for a while now but haven't posted. If you've been reading the new Moon Knight series, then you're probably familiar with the Italian artist, Alessandro Cappuccio who has done some incredible work on the title. When I saw the previews I knew I had to add an example of his work on the series to my collection. #9 pg.18 #23 pg.8 #23 pg.13
  9. Saw a lot of MK pieces that almost all came from the same person which were pieces that had been at auction in recent years, some more than once. The MK #1 page I recall sold on Heritage originally for around $3,500 but had a reserve of over $29,600 here which it didn't hit. The cover was nice I thought and went for a nice price for the buyer compared to the first cover from that series that sold for I think double a few years back on Clink. Somewhat expected I guess since the artist isn't well known.
  10. This will be a great auction for Green Arrow fans by the looks of it, some of those covers look especially cool. All you need is at least two interested people after all. I like The Demon cover myself.
  11. I think he got banned/temp suspended on here a few years back hasn't been back since.
  12. Thanks. It's a great read and think the dialogue makes even the talking head pages great pieces too. These are the pieces I have at the moment from the regular series (would love to add more to anyone reading). This is an interesting piece and is the logo design to the series. It was used for the first 24 issues of the series which concluded the story from the mini.
  13. I really enjoyed the storyline from this four-issue mini and since I have some pages from the series after that continued the storyline I thought I should try to add something from it. Please let me know if you have something from it and would be interested in selling or hearing an offer for it, thanks.
  14. Are we talking about earliest that has a picture that can be found or earliest that apparently is known to exist with being seeing it? If it's earliest that's known to exist but not have scans online wouldn't that be the ASM 1 cover with the story about how it and some other art was stolen by some apparent addicts from Marvel's offsite storage facility with them trying to sell it at a comic shop and then disappearing?
  15. Forgot to post this piece with the other one in my last post. #1 variant cover to Moon Knight: City of the Dead by Alex Maleev. I've wanted a Maleev Mk piece for a while now but was having a hard time since a lot of his work on the series he did a decade ago was mostly digital. All the more happy to add this piece to the collection. It's bigger than usual too at 15'x22'.
  16. Some additions to the Moon Knight collection. Cover to #23 of the current Moon Knight series and a #1 variant cover Moon Knight: City of the Dead by Alex Maleev. Maleev piece is over-sized too which is nice.
  17. Thanks and, yep. He's been doing some amazing covers for the series so far.
  18. Cover to issue 23 of the current Moon Knight series. Also my first piece with Venom in it.
  19. Thanks, Comiclink says I got it in 2011 so just over 11 years now. I also happen to win it for just $11 dollars too. Who knew such a cheap piece would cost me so much in the long run.
  20. Still have it. Despite my collection being mostly Marvel, it was this DC page that got me to pull the trigger since I just really liked the dialogue.
  21. Thanks, for the comments and suggestions. Heritage has it credited to being done by Bill Cucinotta.
  22. Behold the rarest piece you're likely to see posted here. A heritage auction lot that sold at the starting bid price! It's the logo design for the Doctor Fate series from the late 80s to the early 90s that was a continuation of the 4-issue mini-series. They're both a great read and suggest you give them a look. It was used for the first 24 issues before being changed to the later logo design which lasted to the end of the series at issue #41. Put a dollar watch bid on it since I thought it was interesting and ended up winning it.
  23. He's died multiple times since part of his power is being brought back until his mind can't take being killed an brought back anymore. Though not unexpected. Probably are doing this because they want people to like the Hunter's Moon character they added and are incorporating the Scarlet Scarab character from the show into the comics. Using old IPs to push newer ones.
  24. You should see if you can get the Roman chariot set that was included with it as a limited time bonus if you bought the set when it first came out as a complimentary piece.
  25. Last one for today. I think this one is the best compared to the other 2 but does have the issue of having pretty tanned pages, unfortunately. I think the spine could be pressed but worry about if the stables could cause a tear. As is I put this one at around a 7.5 to 8.0 if being conservative.
