  1. Your comments aren't going to "incentivise" CGC to do anything. CGC did not "badly mis grade[d]" the book. You have the severe disadvantage of grading a book from scans vs. grading it in hand, and yet for some reason you think your grade of 8.0 is correct. Scans can be tricky, and photos even worse. Good luck on the next round!
  2. Q: TURTLES? Sell into the movie whatever I have left . . . or hold?
  3. Seriously, I won't generally post any book for sale on eBay for less than $24, as it isn't worth the effort, or I'd rather keep it. And that price goes up periodically and soon.
  4. Problems with CGC grading a CLEANED and pressed book with a purple label. My thoughts. I've read most of the foregoing posts, and just to toss my hat into the ring: I believe that any book determined to be obviously cleaned and pressed should be deemed restored and/or enhanced. Both preservation and presentation are arts unto themselves, and should be respected as such. If you can't confirm either without reasonable doubt, then set them free.
  5. What's in your "long term speculation" box? Everything I own . . . and then some.
  6. Have Matt Nelson & Co. graft it back in . . .
  7. That is an excellent question. I have been able to pick up certain telltale signs of chemical cleaning and water baths. I let my customers know my thoughts on the books and submit based on what they want to do going forward. Chemical and water baths are not that common, but I see where that will change based on YouTube trends. What I am seeing more and more of is poor press jobs. This has to do with a lot of dealers now pressing their own books. I’m sure they hire someone out at $20 an hour just to squash books and it shows. Some of these books are not just poorly pressed, they are damaged beyond repair. Joey's about the only person in Florida I trust.
  8. Only a blind man would miss that. But that is not a fact. In fact, it's worse than that - it's a non-factual conclusion.
