  1. Seems like that one is on the decline. Yeah...that was a $30-40 book 6 months ago. Although I need to give credit to the fact that it's pretty close to the assigned grade. The board effect at work. Jim Bah humbug! No board effect at all. I don't post or list to please you. This was never a $30-40 book, 360 was/is. For a book that shows who we later find out to be Crossbones only in shadows, this is a respectable sale. Six months earlier, it wasn't worth cover price.
  2. Well if true then the speculators are jumping in again without looking down ! Uh, isn't that the definition of a speculator . . . ?
  3. Wow! And that copy is a POS (goes to longboxes and pulls out all 18 copies . . . )
  4. You're the one who made the claim, first that there were only around 30 copies, then upping it to around 100, of the Sandman #8 variant still extant. Based on what...? The census numbers. You can't have it both ways. Seriously, let it go already it's apples and oranges. Not only are you mis-quoting me, you are making statements in a vacuum. Sandman 8b IS a rare comic from the copper age, and worth several hundreds of dollars in low grade raw because of that, and the fact that it is a key first appearance in the series. Neither asm 361 second print nor asm 301 , any print, in 9.8 or otherwise are "rare", and never will be. This non-argument you have been attempting to make across multiple threads and sub-forums has grown tiresome. Let's please change the channel. -J. No, that's pretty much a completely accurate representation of your comments, as others have also pointed out. If you find the "non-argument" tiresome, you should stop making it. I wasn't the one who said "low census numbers" = "not many copies extant"; you were. And you cannot have it both ways. If you don't like your arguments biting you in the rear, make better arguments. It's pretty straightforward. Sic 'em RMA, sic 'em
  5. Uh, isn't that what the first 12 pages of this thread are about?
  6. The most awesome copy in the world, despite the ridiculously bad photography. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=3555&GSub=629 We expect nothing less from a fingh pic Unfortunately, someone defaced the logo entirely . . .
  7. What books that sold for $560 and $580? Check the links in my quote. From your link
  8. It seems that sometimes you post solely for the sake of argument. The books sold for $560 and $580. They are valid sales, and valid data points.
  9. Is she a mutant or something? Her head is as big as her torso. You just continue to amaze me . . .
  10. Yes, it's an absolute outrage. What will they think of next - pick a Brit to play Superman??? Oh, wait But Ryan is playing it as Welsh, whereas Superman was never played as a Brit. Constantine's upbringing is clear - and important - and he hailed from Liverpool, not Cardiff. It would be like Batman being played as good ole boy, to put that difference into context.
  11. This is an OPEN-FORUM thread, i.e., anyone can update the last revised set of guidelines. Welcome to the PGM Forum Here are some general guidelines for this thread. Remember that grading from a scan is not 100% reliable, but it is fun and interesting. Please contribute any suggestions you may have to these guidelines in this thread. PGM = "Please Grade My" GENERAL GUIDELINES 1. Please respect others while participating in the PGM Forum. Critique is valuable, but sometimes it can be over-the-line. Be conscious of what you post. 2. Please post only one (1) book per thread and a maximum of three (3) books per person per day. 3. You may provide a brief description of the book's condition and any hidden defects such as a loose or detached cover or centerfold, spine splits or tears, interior stains or tanning, popped staple, and any other defect that is not readily discernible from a scan. 4. Please provide adequate size scans or, at the very least, clear photos of the book you are submitting for grading. Good quality scans are superior to photos, but if you don't have access to a scanner, photos will do. 5. Post scans of both front and back cover at a minimum. Additional scans or photos of problem areas are often helpful. 6. It's your thread - do as you like. But the recommended size of the scan within the thread is 850x1200 pixels. Anything larger tends to drag out the screen dimensions of the thread. You can link to larger scans if you like, but direct links are better. 7. The recommended file type is .jpeg. 8. Most scanners have a neutral background, but you may want to place a colored backer board or paper behind your book prior to scanning. This may help to accentuate the edges of your book. Be sure that the backer board is not the same or similar color as the general colors of the front or back cover. 9. If you post your book in the PGM forum for grading and eventually send it into CGC for professional grading, it is suggested that you post the CGC results and if possible, an image of the slabbed book. Many here would like to see how well their grading skills match up to those at CGC. TIPS ON SCANNING Don't crop the edges of your scans too tight to the book edges and corners. Allow space around the perimeter of the book. Many scanners have default settings to select the image on the scanner bed. It is suggested that you turn that feature off.
