  1. Please add Set: Deathstroke, Terminator & Hunted (1991-1996) Book: Issue #0
  2. Congrats - that ASM 300 is great addition to your collection, looks perfect.
  3. Missing in Action During my move someone walked off with a short box of CGC Green Lantern comics. My numbers one through 100... You can see the comics they stole on my registry page. This was the pride and joy of my collection and I am hoping that all of you would be willing to keep an eye out for these comics. I know that this is an impossible feat, but if anyone comes across any of these comics please let me know. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  4. So many choices.... I try to hit at least 4 Comic Cons a year. I usually go to C2E2, Heros, Philly Wizard World and of course Baltimore since I have to support my local Con. Does anyone have any other suggestions, I want to mix it up next year? Thoughts? To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  5. Why Grade a Comic? I have always had a love for comics since I was a little kid and I always kept my comics in excellent condition. Took pride in bagging them and ensure all of them had backboards even at a young age. I remember my first comics - Thor, Avengers, Spider-man and of course my Green Lantern. Back then comics provided a doorway to another world were a child could escape and be amazed at these wonderful heroes and their monthly adventures. Great times and wonderful memories, especially with parents who enjoyed and encouraged me reading even if it was just a comic. When I first heard of CGC I wasn't a big fun mostly because I didn't understand the need for grading comics, but I understand now that there is a need for CGC. The need is not just for collections but the need to preserve these wonderful memories maintained in pages of comics. Ensuring these memories do not end up destroyed with time and preserving them hopefully for generations to come. I still love reading comics and I will always enjoy the touch of the paper while reading new and old comics, but CGC is needed and hopefully a standard for true collectors for a long time to come. 6. The winning bid was that much...really? I'm always willing to pay good money on eBay for a good CGC 9.6 or 9.8 comic to add to my collection and most of the time I do find great deals. But lately on eBay people have been going crazy on bidding and on offer prices, way beyond what the comic is valued at times. I guess I understand the need to get that gem of a comic and add it to your collection. It just seems some of the prices are just not based in reality like starting at 12k for a Green Lantern #76 CGC 9.6 or just recently X-men #120 CGC 9.8 went for over 1k on the winning bid...really? I'm sure you all went though the same ordeal thinking you have the winning bid of $20 and end up losing to a bid of $200 in the last 5 seconds of the auction (just happened to me). The comic was NOT worth that much, but I guess you cant really put a value on something you need and love to collect. Just venting...since I really wanted those comics :-( To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
