Personal Information

  1. Yep. I got the same book a few weeks ago and didn't realize its contents until afterwards. I think these books and the change in slang are priceless.
  2. Please, feel free to hit all the BINs on Sword of Azrael #1. maybe it's an inside joke that i'm not getting.
  3. p.s. all those $679 Buy it Nows prevent it from increasing in value. I might have to put a stop to that.
  4. I bought this book for $4 on ebay back in 2009. I was confused at the time because I always knew Harley was a popular character. I was collecting 1st appearances and saw all these cheap books for $4 and it kinda confused me. The book was close to 17 years old and never gained value. I bought one and got another 9.6 for about 125 back in 2012. Then the take off.... I got the $4 copy in to get graded at a 9.4. This book is the Hulk 181 of modern. It will potentially top off soon enough, however, it will continue to grow. Next Batman book to do this will be Azrael, Carnage, etc...
  5. The comic book gods have spoken to me and they tell me that there will be a huge increase in Batman: Sword of Azrael #1 and Spider-man 361 over the next 2 years.
  6. And this is just what I have pictures of... so much more Batman Golden Age
  7. hahaha it definitely helps at night on ebay - Batman CGC, newly listed, click click click click... 5 hours later... click click click click.. it got me a batman 227 5.0 universal for $10 once
  8. Also I wanted to state the obvious cold books: Any book that has these stupid variant covers to them. They are all fad in my opinion and will lose significance over time because every single book now has about 5 or 6 different covers. Mainly the Batman series. These little ComicCon variants are all just hype. I wasted a lot of my money on them only for it to equal about half of its worth compared to the 1st release. From my studies on comic books, they gain value by one of 4 categories: 1. Age 2. Significance 3. Rarity 4. Appeal/Cover The more appeal it has in each category, the higher the value over time. Cover alone without significance to the story (ex: Batman Sketch Cover) is simply fad. People will flock to it because of "rarity", but in due time, it will greatly lose its significance. I rarely shoot out cash for CGCs that are not 1st appearances or some extreme significance. Golden Age Batman ex: Classic Joker Covers = extremely larger significance than some simply Batman and Robin riding a tricycle. The Batman (I think it's 29) only has value due to its age and being within the top 30 issues of Batman. It may go for about $420 at a 6.0, but it took over 60 years to get there. The modern age 1st appearances such as Carnage have great significance and will only gain value with age. Today's moderns are future Bronzes and Silvers, etc. Great investments. P.S. Sorry about the extreme ramble. Most of you probably already realize this. However, I take medication that makes me hyper and crazy
  9. Greetings, I haven't written on this site in quite a few years. I have been out of touch on the topics in this conversation, however I have been studying the market and I know some of these have obviously been mentioned, but wanted to bring out my overview of hot/cold books on ebay: 1. Amazing Spider-Man 361 - as was mentioned earlier, this book is hitting 150 or whatever. Fact is, I bought a CGC 9.8 back in 2010 for about 50 bucks. Get it while it's cheap, because more attention will be paid to this character after the new game (which will probably suck, but bring attention to the character) is released. 2. Batman Adventures 12 - Obviously this book has probably been discussed quite a few times. I love myself for buying a copy for about $4 on ebay back in 2010 and sending it in to come back with a 9.4. I also bought a 9.6 for about $120 back in 2012. 3. New Teen Titans 2 - 9.6 is hitting about 230 now considering about a 200% increase from a few years ago. - This is I guess a Modern/Bronze era depending. It's still a hot book.
