  1. @CGC MikeI have emailed customer service about this a few times now to get the "ME" fix with no response...Could you work your magic so customer service can write back and start the process for it to be corrected?
  2. I know not many people followed, but it appears everything has been resolved, at least for now. Long story short, I got screwed in the transition to management payments and it took them awhile to figure out exactly what the glitch was or what was causing my account to be continually suspended. I have been back up and running for a little bit now, so thought I would share something I learned, especially if you do not have the eBay "concierge" service... Trying to find a time when a live agent was available was brutal and it never seemed like anything was going anywhere and any fixes were always brief and I always had to keep explaining the issue over and over. I finally found success when I reached out to eBay on their social media platforms, specifically IG and Facebook. Ultimately, I worked with the team on FB through messenger and it was much better as I did not have to explain the scenario every time, communication improved, I had a record of the communication and they were able to get tickets escalated so this thing finally got resolved. I am not 100% confident it will be smooth sailing from here, but hopefully my months long eBay nightmare is over and I have been able to keep my store, my account and feedback intact, etc. Also, they did reimburse my eBay store fees for the 3 months I was not really able to operate during that time. While it did take far, far longer to resolve than it should have, if you get a problem, try reaching out to them via IG/FB first. Might get better results for your eBay issue.
  3. I think I am waiting on Thor Vol. 1 to come into my LCS? I like Marvel Horror too...I was surprised to see what Tomb of Dracula Vol. 1 goes for now!
  4. I recently just dipped my toes in the Marvel Omnibus pool. I have ASM Vol. 1 and 2, ASM Michelinie/McFarlane, FF, X-Men, Mutant Massacre (really enjoyed some of the comics as a youngster) and just picked up Incredible Hulk. My plan is to get the Marvel Silver Age "classics" and then whatever else may pique my interest. Prior to this, I did dabble/pick up some Marvel Masterworks hardcovers and Marvel Premiere hard cover line. Also, any Spidey fans see this? https://www.foliosociety.com/ca/spider-man.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzbLuqubY9gIVA7_ICh2wYgBiEAYYASABEgLyd_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Production value looks nice. Love the cover, looks sharp. Considering it.
  5. Just arrived. Wrong Number. Label says #1. Should be #2. Lame mistake.
  6. Any idea how I could get added to concierge? My account was reinstated and just suspended again after a few days🤬
  7. I sent in one fast track and one slow track sub in the same box. Tracking tool says they arrived but still not entered into the system and should have been weeks ago. Oh and customer service has not yet replied to my inquiry. Sigh. Time to email again...
  8. Now they are telling me it will be 48 to 72 hours before my "ended" listings can be relisted. Apparently I will get a message through ebay when I am good to relist. Sigh.
  9. Thanks for that. If I have to, I will but would prefer to get it fixed...Or get hooked up with Concierge as maybe they could fix the problem...Good work around though if it comes to that...
  10. This is what I am trying to avoid and if the glitch keeps saying I owe fees, would I even be able to? I have a fair number of followers and feedback (by my standards) and would hate to have to "start over" but if it comes to it...I may just have to.
  11. Nope. If only it were that easy. There is something on their end they have to do when an account is suspended to relist. If I try to simply relist I get the message below.
  12. I just looked it up. Maybe I call and demand the Concierge treatment??? I have been with eBay since 2006, have 1,135 feedback but I am at 100% rating but clearly I am not meeting their volume and other standards. Nice to know they have a two tiered help system...The have and have nots! eBay Concierge is a personalized, premium service to help members with their buying and selling needs. 13. concierge service? 2 days I could deal with. I just had my account reinstated (for how long) but now the customer service agent I had on the phone can't figure out how to restore my listings due to the suspension so I can actually relist them (another agent did it before in like 10 minutes) and now I am on hold... Sigh. Anyway, I will not continue to post (rant) here anymore - I don't think - but may update if I actually get this thing sorted out.
  14. The fact that it took multiple attempts to get some kind of answer what is going on and when I call or chat, depending on the competency of the agent, I have to go over my story again and again and have been told they cant do anything. They can. They can at least reinstate my account. The fact I can't seem to get through to someone of "authority" kind of makes it also an overall customer service issue. But you are right, there is likely not much more I can do 😡.
  15. Does USPS not have an online system where you can prepare labels and forms and arrange for USPS to pick up packages for a small fee? Canada Post does and that's how I did all my shipments at peak of Covid...No lines! I still do it from time to time as the fee is minimal ($3) and doesn't matter if you have one or several packages.
  16. I don't start threads here too often, but I have decided to share my tale of woe with the community here in case anyone else is experiencing the same issue I am with eBay. Long story short, since about mid-January 2022, I have been locked in a vicious cycle with eBay of trying to get them to resolve a "system glitch" that keeps restricting and suspending my account. Basically, for whatever reason, I have been told that their billing system has been restricting my selling privileges and even suspending my account for non-payment. However (and this has been confirmed by eBay), I have always been up to date on my payments. For some reason this "glitch" keeps "flagging" that I "owe" just under $230, however, this was paid in September 2021 (and confirmed by eBay). According to a recent chat with an eBay agent this is a "known site issue that some members have reported". Apparently my account has been added to the ticket so "they" know my account is being affected by it". The problem is, this vicious cycle of restriction, suspension, then reinstatement keeps happening, as recently as yesterday. Every time my account is restricted and/or suspended I have to call eBay (and getting an agent on the phone is not as easy these days). Then, once my account is reinstated, eBay has to do something on their end to allow me to relist the items that were canned when my account was incorrectly suspended. I have wasted hours on the phone with them and online. I have lost watchers and likely sales and my account is yo-yoing between active and non-active, which will impact my seller performance. Today, my account was suspended for I think the third or fourth time in just under three months. I had to chat with an agent this evening to hopefully get my listings back up. This particular agent referred me to an email address that is no longer valid (resolve@ebay.com) and literally had no clue what they were doing and said I would have to try to speak to a live person tomorrow and ended the chat. I have been a member since 2006 and a Top Rated Seller for several years now. There have been some seemingly decent agents but it blows my mind they can't actually fix this problem after nearly three months. The "work around" for me to keep calling every time I'm restricted/suspended is brutal. To me, it seems eBay has gone out of their way to create a system to limit members ability to "elevate" their concerns to a supervisor or complaints department or whatever to get an actual resolution if it does not involve the basics of buying or selling. I have also found the competency levels between agents can vary drastically and I have reached out to eBay on their site and Facebook (I don't use Twitter). It is just all so incredibly frustrating. I know many of you will say "screw eBay" (and believe me I have thought about it) and sell here, send graded books to auctions houses, etc., and I get that there are other options, especially for graded books, but I have spent years on eBay cultivating a customer base and no disrespect to any other venues, but I think I would be hard pressed to find a better venue than eBay at the moment where I could sell myself and actually move raw books, sets and especially raw non-key books. And I don't feel like starting over there either. Anyway, thanks for listening/reading but if anyone else is experiencing or has experienced a similar issue and had it resolved or a super secret complaints number, I would appreciate any information or insight on how to deal with eBay's "customer service" and actually get to a manager/supervisor or proper complaints department (should they have one) to get this thing resolved.
  17. You are welcome my friend! I knew you would appreciate them!
  18. Thought I would do a little 2020/21 Year(s) in Review... Despite the pandemic, I had, by my standards, two very good years for buying and selling. I did not do any shows due to lockdowns and honestly, becoming a new dad (January 2020), even if I wanted to, I would not have had time for them anyway. However, thanks to doing those local shows and connections made, I had several bigger books and collections/lots of books linked to the one contact or directly from the one contact come my way in 2020 and 2021. So, while I have not done any shows since 2019, dividends from shows have still been "paying off". The first one really came from an older gentleman who had a lot of GA books and some silver age and some bronze , who was referred to me by my show acquaintance. I have been able to sell a lot of the stuff I was not interested in and into profit territory, but I still have most of the GA war and western books. Several of them are Canadian Editions...Not as valuable I know, but still pretty cool for me to find. I am in no rush to sell those as material of this vintage simply does not come my way too often. Much of the other recent pick ups over the last year and a half have come from the same individual and all moderns. Either he was looking to make a quick buck, money for a key or things like moving expenses. I was fair with him, he understood I needed to make money on books and I paid fast. I even bought books that I normally would not just to keep the train running but even with those books, I have had some pleasant surprises sales wise. I also bought the books without thoroughly inspecting them as we did deals exclusively online as we live 4 hours apart, so there was trust on both parts, but it has worked out well for both of us. Looking to 2022, I think I have pretty much cleaned him out, but don't know for certain. Most of my sales have come from eBay but a few also through my Facebook Page and locals, but for now, as much as people gripe about eBay, that's where I do the bulk of my business. I think I had my first sale through IG a few months ago (I still really just use it for "promotion" but no idea how to really use it effectively). I still need to find time to investigate selling via and/or consigning with My Comic Shop. I have also submitted more books in the past year and a half to CGC than I ever have for a single year or so...Much of which is still with CGC...As of right now, I have about 36 books with CGC in various stages processing (sitting with them LOL) and I am supposed to be getting a shipment of 11 books back today and I just sent another shipment of 12 books. Praying for no QC issues. A vast majority of these will be for sale, like 99% of them. I know this volume of books being sent for grading is peanuts for some, but for me, it has been/is a lot but I have already done well with what I have had come back and goal is to just keep pushing forward with selling - But I need to find a new source for 2022 or find time to really dive into my stock. My challenges remain the same...Finding time to organize/buy/sell and list while balancing work and family. I also still have a lot of cataloguing to do and still don't have most of my stock onsite, which is another big ongoing challenge. Hopefully that changes in 2022. Just having the bulk of it "arm's reach" would be major accomplishment, so fingers crossed that will change in 2022. All in all, buying and selling has been very good these past few years and been good to help support the family for a few things and to help build up the "war chest " for my PC. Now, onto 2022 and thanks to those who take the time to read and as always, comments welcomed.
  19. As someone who aspires to have the full run and is short about 20 issues (including AF #15 and ASM #1 ) I thought this was a great story and congrats on the acquisition! It was also very cool to hear about how you got back into collecting and your friendship!
  20. How does CGC even begin to make the customer happy here? paid good money for Sig opp. Waited months. Gets a cluster f back. Maybe they fly a rep to JR JR place to get it signed? Full refund and label correction? At least book not damaged...Those are what worry me the most.
  21. Block this guy: kewert89 I had a CGC Star Wars book listed with asking price or best offer. He makes me an offer. I accept. A few days go by, no payment or communication. Very late in the evening on October 4th and very early morning on October 5th, I get these three messages (while I was asleep), in rapid succession, right after the other: 1st Message: Hey what's up man? Sorry for the late reply, but I work 2nd shift Monday-Friday 3pm-3am. Anyways, I had to transfer money from my savings to my checking today to buy this it. My bank is dumb and makes me wait 1 business day for the transfer to actually post into my account. It will be in there late tonight or early tomorrow morning (anywhere from 3-8am) so after I wake up tomorrow I'll buy it right away. It will be before I start work at 3pm cst at the latest buddy. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I appreciate your patience! 2nd Message: Actually, I was just browsing my watchlist and seen that a US seller is selling a 9.6 as well, but he has is listed for $450 + $15 for shipping which is $60 less. Would you be willing to cancel this transaction and match his price man? I don't think I've ever asked a seller to cancel a transaction before, but when I can get the same exact item for 10% less money (especially on a $500 book) it would be dumb for anyone to pass that up in my opinion. Either way just lmk and sorry for the inconvenience. 3rd Message: Hey what's up man? So I had some unexpected hospital bills that came in the mail today. I had surgery on my broken ankle 4months ago and my insurance covered most of it, but the final invoice shows I still need to pay a little over $2k out of pocket. I've been wanting a KOTOR #9 for a while now (it's the last KOTOR comic I need to finish my run), but that's going to have to be out on hold for the time being. I tried to request canceling this order myself, but it wouldn't let me. If you could cancel this transaction for me I'd really appreciate. I do apologize and am sincerely sorry for wasting your time. I doubt that will change the way you feel about it, but I'd rather be upfront with you instead of just ghosting you until it's past the payment due date. Anyways, take care and have a good rest of your week! SO, basically, we have the trifecta here...Non-payment due to bank issues, followed by found a cheaper copy and then coincidence of coincidences, unexpected hospital bills! Only thing that was missing was my "kid bid on this" or other similar nonsense. I did not waste much time with this guy and cancelled the sale for buyer request and blocked him.
  22. Nothing major to report...I have picked up a few modern collections of late and I have significantly upped my eBay store (and subsequently sales) and now I am trying to continually just keep adding to it when I can. The good news is that incoming funds are inching me along closer and closer without having to unload a big key or keys for my collecting goals. For now, I'm ok to continue to scratch and fight my way to an AF #15 (I could get a decent low grade ASM #1 now). Getting some books back from CGC that will be slated for sales will help too, but likely not until early 2022 when I get that 25 book batch back. However, if the right opportunity presented itself and/or it seems it is not feasible in terms of the rise in value of an AF #15, I could potentially unload some bigger non-ASM keys that are part of my personal collection to reach the goal before I am totally priced out...But like I said, if I don't have to, I'd rather not.
  23. @Arkham and I were having a laugh. I have also discussed the custom label too and I am NOT a fan. I do not like the modern image on the slab particularly if a silver or bronze book. Plus, I feel they take away from the actual cover art. As for other notations or "stickers", I think they can be neat and/or informative, but in all seriousness, are not a determining factor whether I buy a book or pay more or not but maybe if it is a "novelty" and not too expensive, maybe??? ...Like if the Spider-Man: Rein issue stated "storyline where MJ died due to exposure of radioactive sperm" Oh, actually, as I am building my Lee/Ditko ASM run and I am in Canada and sending books for reholder is not something I want to do nor incur additional unnecessary costs with, if I see a ASM Lee/Ditko era book with a modern custom label, its a turn off and would prefer to wait for one that doesn't have that label as I want all my Lee/Ditko run to be slabbed.
  24. I have contemplated cracking some of my graded non ASM keys that I picked up randomly to put in mylites as part of my raw collection but definitely would not crack anything very valuable. Interestingly (or weirdly) Paradise Comics on IG is selling some keys that have been cracked and they are displaying the label. I inquired why the slabs were cracked and apparently the original owner cracked them and kept the label. We are talking like FF #1 and bigger keys. THAT to me, makes no sense why someone would crack that level of book and as a side note, personally, I would not be paying CGC graded prices for a cracked book as how do you know what has been done to it post cracking?
