  1. Jetta #5 3.5 (ignoring the label) $75 If not for the Hess Shoes label slapped across the cover, I would grade this a 3.5. Small chip lower left corner. Small spine split (3/4" or so) at top of spine. Hess could of at least put the label on the back cover...not sure how to price this.
  2. Authentic Police Cases #24 2.0 $55 Piece missing upper right corner. Some spine tears that go through most of the book. Baker cover. A 5.5 just sold for $403.
  3. Just a couple books today. Maybe, I'll add more if these sell. Shipping is $4 in the US. 7 Day return Paypal, check, MO all fine.
  4. Are these front and back covers or just the front covers?
  5. I do have a few more. I was trying to decide which ones I wanted to keep for myself. I have a couple that are sequentially numbered as well. I thought those were cool. Maybe I'll post a couple more tonight.
  6. Yes, you may choose which certificate you want. Three sold (including Jan 29 and Dec certificates). Three still available.
  7. Perfect Film and Chemical Corporation was the parent company of Marvel in the late 1960s. I have six stock certificates. One is for 12 shares. The rest is for 100 shares. Two of the 100 share certificates are dated 1968. All the others are dated 1967. These are cancelled certificates and most are in the name of the brokerages from the time. Two are in the name of individuals. They are $10 each shipped. US only. Paypal accepted. Returns within 7 days.
  8. webcity-x made an offer on item I had listed. I accepted the offer. The same day he requested that I cancel the order.
  9. Terms: Check/MO, Paypal. US only. Price includes shipping. Return within 7 days if not satisfied. Batman #171 CGC 8.0. There is a small crack in the CGC case. You can see it in the scan about 1/3 from the top on the left side. $950.
  10. Yes, I did. In the early 2000s, we had set up at a local con and sold some comic statues. The buyer paid by check drawn on his company account, which was a comic store in another close town. The check bounced. My wife and I happened to be in the town of his store several weeks later. We took the bounced check to his store. He was there and did not refute stiffing us. Said he had no cash and couldn't pay us. We said fine, we'll walk to an ATM with you. Said no cash in the bank. We said we are not leaving until we get paid or our merchandise returned. Having already resold what he bought from us, he signed over several money orders that he had received for online sales. The money orders were cashed without a problem and we were paid in full. I never saw the guy again and warned other dealers setup at the local show. This was for a couple hundred dollars. Not sure I would ever show up at someone's house though. Showing up at a public place of business is something different.
  11. Are those pre-code horror reprint mags in B&W? What's the reproduction quality of the artwork?
  12. Yes! That was the last Eerie, but there are now 5 copies of Ghost Rider remaining.
  13. #11 was the hardest for me to find. I ended up with multiples of all issues except #11 as I bought several of them in groups. Nothing is in high grade. I do believe I bought every issue that I ever saw for sale of this run as I was trying to put it together. None of the issues were that easy to find.
  14. You can, but only in the same year. US tax code is stacked against collectors. You are expected to pay taxes on any gains from collectibles, but at your marginal ordinary income rate. Collectible gains are not treated as capital gains regardless of how long you held the asset. You may write off losses against any gain taken in a given year if those losses are incurred in the same year. You may not use those losses against other capital gains nor against ordinary income. Those losses cannot be carried forward as losses in stocks and bonds can.
  15. Some of the spot illustrations are pretty cool. I had starting amassing a collection of these. I thought I would publish his artwork from both the covers and the interiors. However, all the copyrights have been renewed on these books. They are probably orphan copyrights, but figured I'd err on the side of caution.
  16. Where else can you find five Alex Schomburg covers for $75 shipped to the US? I actually see these Everyday Astrology books less frequently than his comic work. Four covers are airbrush/painted covers. Dates are Aug 1942, Sept 1945, Dec 1946, Jun 1951, Aug 1951. In addition to the covers, most of the books contain B&W spot illustrations by Schomburg. Condition would VGish. Payment by Paypal, check, MO. 7 day return.
  17. What auction will this be offered in? I don't see it on the Heritage site.
  18. If you think about it Mlle. Marie is older than Aunt May now...
