  1. So after contacting CGC, they replied initially with "hey, there's just a scuff and that's acceptable". I sent a reply with a better image with each individual "scuff" circled. They then offered for me to return it for a re-holder immediately. They said it wasn't on the comic (I pray they're right), and that they appeared to be some sort of abrasions on the case itself. But they are definitely on it's interior. I'll try to get this back out to them for a re-holder, but when I mentioned the shifting they said the holders where cut to the ideal size to accommodate each individual book. I took this as "hey we know what we are doing and whatever shift you have is acceptable". The unfortunate thing is that I know if I ever have to shift this thing it will absolutely risk having the cover shaken free from the staple, as one Wolverine 145 Nabisco variant I picked up did. I'll mention the wedge to them in the return package. I am honestly a little surprised and disappointed with my first submission... but hey, I have boxes full of slabs that look great so maybe this is isolate and just my luck. Thanks for the replies!!
  2. Oh, and when did they change holders?! Both of my larger books (MK and NYX) shift around like crazy within the holder. Is this the new norm? I haven't picked up a modern that was recently graded in quite some time.
  3. I am just wondering if any folks have experienced this before. I picked up three books today from Fedex and upon opening I found that the backs of two had strange "dash like lines" running near the spine down the back at the top and bottom. Both books effected are black on the back cover (Moon Knight #1 Sienkiewicz variant cover 9.8, and Wolverine: Origins RIV 9.4). I am doubt it was a previously existing defect as the book graded 9.8 with zero grader notes. The 9.4 cited some bends on the back cover as did the NYX 3 (9.6), but the NYX has no marks like these two. Any thoughts on what it could be? The cases were also scratched up more than I would have expected.. Any suggestions would be appreciated, this is my first submission myself, but I have cases and cases of graded books and haven't noticed this on any before.
  4. Just an update: *Edit: Economy fast track Delivered:06/09 SFG:06/15 Grading/QC: 07/19 Finalized/Imaged/Shipped: 07/23 Moon Knight 1 5/14 Marvel Comics Sienkiewicz Variant Cover 9.8 WHITE Wolverine: Origins 10 3/07 Marvel Comics Retailer Incentive Edition 9.4 WHITE NYX 3 2/04 Marvel Comics 9.6 WHITE I am a little surprised by the Wolverine book, but otherwise I guessed about right. My grader notes indicated only flaws on the back cover (which I neglected to thoroughly inspect) for the 9.4 and 9.6 so lesson learned for the next submission. I have multiples of the NYX and Moon Knight so I am definetly happy.
  5. I just sent in my first submission ever; economy fast track and it's looking like it'll be just a bit longer. Just wanted to share for an added point of reference for anyone else who is new to submissions like myself. Collecting CGC and raw books for decades, but first time sending them in myself. Delivered:06/09 SFG:06/15 I called just to see if they were backlogged as I am going out of town for business for a couple of weeks and the TAT had them coming back around the middle of this trip. The lady I spoke with almost chuckled when she said "oh yes.. we are definitely behind" and "hope for the very end of the month". She was very honest, and helpful. I'm OK with a little delay, as long as they give us all fair grades and keep their standards up (ref grading and customer service) I can be patient, and continue to send them books for years to come.
  6. Absolutely flawlessly packaging, and he shipped out like lightening. Plus, I bought Uncanny X-Force #1 premier variant from him for the best price I have ever encountered. Awesome guy.
