  1. I thought some of you might find this interesting. Several years ago, I bought a lower-grade AF 15. I know that most would advise keeping it unrestored, but I decided to send it to Susan Cicconi for some tender loving care. After she professionally restored it, I had Stan sign it. It is one of the prizes of my collection now. Here is the book, with both before and after photos: http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=33231&GSub=2744
  2. While we are on Mister X, here is one of my favorite signature series books. The sigs are like further artwork on the cover, perfectly placed:
  3. One of Stan’s personal favorites was Daredevil 47. He chose that story as the “modern” one to reprint after DD’s origin story in “Son of Origins of Marvel Comics.”
  4. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. The opening sequence to Journey #1 is still one of my favorite scenes in comics.
  5. For what’s its worth, they have added some more rare guests since I started this thread: Roger Sweet, the 83 year-old creator of He-Man; and artists Moritat (Hellblazer); and Stephanie Guadino (Walking Dead).
  6. Bumping again just in case anyone has changed his mind and is going. I would LOVE to get a couple of sigs from longtime hall-of-fame inker Bob Smith!
  7. Bumping this thread in case someone in the Northwest has not seen it yet!
  8. Long shot here.... any facilitators on the west coast potentially interested in attending this one-day con in northwest Washington? Rare appearance by longtime DC and Archie inker Bob Smith. Star Wars & Batman artist Rick Hoberg and Spider-Man artist Randy Emberlin will also be attending. They also promise that more guests will be announced: http://www.bellinghamcomicon.com/index.html
  9. What has caused you to lose confidence in the Dynamic Forces signatures?
  10. Adkins inked the cover. I wonder if some fan at convention asked him to sign the cover for that reason. The more common spot was obviously the first page in those days, but it wasn’t unheard of to have an occasional cover signed. Also: what incentive would someone have to forge the inker’s sig? Still, I agree with Sean, in that I haven’t seen that style of sig by him before ....
  11. So... who is going to ask the big question first!
  12. This was never going to happen, not in a million years, but there was always some microscopic part of my brain that held out the tiniest smidgen of hope that I would someday get Ditko’s signature on my Amazing Fantasy 15. Don’t laugh. Do that added to my sadness when I learned that he is now gone. But I am more sad that he never profited from his creations like he should have. And I am sad that he died alone. And I am sad that he wasn’t even found for a couple of days. The whole thing is not fair. I admired him. It really sucks that he is gone.
  13. I’m pretty sure there is no sucker who’s going to pay that price.
  14. Website does not have any artists listed yet, at least none that I could find.
