  1. Oh Im not panicking, Im more or less just trying to secure a 9.8 copy since I missed out on getting them off the shelf at cover. I did find a shop though that has plenty and put some aside for me, but the condition is unknown until I get there. I also have 2 separate orders getting shipped to 2 separate addresses of the FP variant which I prefer over the regular. For the original cover worst case is I guess I'll wait until 13,000 9.8's hit eBay and save the $ from DF for new Nike Air Max's today or more supplements for the gym Im going to support the comic wether it gains value or not as I really like it. Its a good read so I hope it does really well long term! One question though...Can someone tell me where the Ghost variant is sold? Is that at any regular comic shop or only certain ones aka phantom shops?
  2. Well guys, I just called a shop that I did not check and they claim to have 70+... I thought it would be extremely hard to get if I missed the release day but apparently not. By the way...when I read this not only the story and art blew me away, but the coloring.....wow!
  3. Alright, I'll hit you up when the slabs start hitting the boards. I just have a feeling people are going to be asking for more than $100...but I guess I can wait it out and I appreciate the offer mldynes. If I need it I will hit you up.
  4. What's the rush? True, you could buy the $90 book from DF or you could handpick three copies and submit them your self via fast track for roughly the same price. DF does not fast track so based on the posts on turn around times, you should get it in late October. If you don't want to slab your own books, then you can wait about four weeks a buy a copy from the boards, I'm sure they will start out much cheaper. Who is going to want to sell me a 9.8 on the boards for $80 though>?
  5. "Please Click on your order number for more information, change or cancel your order." I made sure of it krighton Im really liking this book so I dont mind paying them for just this one. I would rather scoop a bunch of raw 9.8 candidates and sit on like 10 of them, but MidTown didnt fulfill my order for whatever reasons, even though I placed it over a month ago. However, Forbidden Planet did so I'll be cool with a bunch of those instead I guess and a guaranteed one of these.
  6. ^ I know you guys know what you are talking about and I agree with a lot of what you are saying. I thought it through and what I did was secure my order and will just look for raw copies to submit. If I find them I will cancel, if not then I will be good for the 9.8 on a personal run I want to make of this book. This way I also won't have to buy it for $200 + once DF sells out. I honestly dont care if it comes in 4 months etc, as long as I can get one I will be happy as I seriously am not in a rush to get it. Im probably going to drop everything anyways as far as my pull list and just keep this, Five Ghosts and finish up the Black Beetle and maybe Dark Horse Star Wars. I also have some phantom variants and some regular covers of Five Ghosts signed that I may look to trade for a 9.8 candidate or two of EoW.
  7. Ok thanks krighton. I will hold off and just look for some later today. I wouldnt mind subbing my Forbidden Planet variants as I like that cover the best personally. I just hope they get here in good enough condition to grade. I got a chance to look at one two days ago at my local mall as the shop owner showed me it bagged and boarded but I didnt take it out or handle it. Is the paper quality matte and almost like SAGA's?
  8. I hear you krighton, My comic shops sold out when they were supposed to hold some for me... I hate buying off eBay since everyone and their mom advertises NM/M so maybe I will take a trip a bit farther to look later today and I do hear where you are coming from. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. krighton why so? I have heard they have a horrible wait time, but other than that please do tell...are they infamous for canceling and not being able to come through or something of that nature?
  10. I missed out on it today since I had to take care of some business. Any idea if its worth getting the DF 9.8 for my personal collection at $89? Also, I have 7 of the UK variants coming but wasnt sure if I should just sub those...and not get the regular cover. Finally anyone know of a coupon code for DF for possibly free shipping or any deals going on that would work? Thank you in advance if anyone can give opinions and/or help. Edit* I did buy the digital version to read and loved it!
  11. I went to my Harrisons at the mall and got to see my pull file. They already had them in there for me and let me take a look at the cover and hold it. Looks awesome in person. I could feel the power radiating off it (=
  12. As far as reserves, I do HATE the ones where the reserve is literally more than someone would be willing to spend on it to begin with. Basically it is so high that the seller is just being totally unrealistic. I also hate when people put a reserve in the auction and then in the item description they state how much the reserve is. I just find that to be funny and a total turnoff.
  13. I find that if you start a bid low, it gets people psychologically in a sense that they feel they need to put the bid in and not be outdone, hence a bidding war. I agree if you start it off higher people will wait around. Start something at 100 and watch how many people add it to the watch list and how many actually end up bidding on it when its all said and done. Start it at 99 cents and watch how many people step in out of nowhere and increase the price. I think it makes people more passionate by starting it off low because they get that hooked sensation of "just putting one more in" etc. In either scenario its a double edged sword. You start it low, you may not get what you want or it may exceed what you want. You start it high and you may get that one or two people to throw a bid in. I find that you start it low and it gets everyone throwing their bid in the pot, and some of those people will feel obligated to not be outdone and have the feeling that they "need" to have it...
  14. Oh I hear you and agree its annoying. I was just commenting since you asked WTF does 2 other different comics have to do with the one that is listed. I thought you sincerely didnt see why they were doing it. Also, they never do anything about it as I have seen this done with many other things than comics. For example people selling a SNES console writing: SNES with 22 cartridges, not Sega Saturn PSX PS3 Wii WiiU Genesis 32X PSX NES L@@K NOW!!! Then they pay the 50 cents to buy a subtitle and write 14 other systems.
  15. I would imagine that they do this to maximize search results so more people look at it. Those people who are typing SAGA and Panzerfaust will pull it up also. I have seen people write "not CGC 9.4 or CGC 9.6" too so I would assume this is why they are doing that.
  16. zekebarrett..how many did you order? Im curious since I ordered 5 and wonder if thats what they will charge me...or if I should add something to the order.
  17. THB....I should have bought one when I was there. I am also going to look for one now since they were right in front of me and I didnt even think to grab one. If I find out I will edit this post.
  18. gcwatson94 I think I talked to you at the counter with Larry for a minute about our submissions....if so nice to meet you and sorry I was in a hurry to go out otherwise I would have chatted a bit longer. On a sidenote I was thinking that Fabian's friend reminded me of someone else a bit looks wise. Its probably not a good picture but he looks like Buzzer from the Dreadnocks to me ( = http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/dread2.gif
  19. Easy ^ you can have your head in the clouds. (= Anyways, awesome book!
  20. I met him in person krighton. He was a cool dude with a good personality. Im a good judge of character and I guess thats just my opinion. I like him though ( = Yeah, lemonman5 they are very down to earth. I was extremely happy to meet them.
  21. accessndx thanks for some of that info! krighton what you mentioned would be awesome! I am honestly liking this comic a lot! I asked Chris if I could contact him in a bit to see if I can get a custom commission done and he was super nice about it. The creators are honestly very nice and humble people. I am lucky to have got to meet them and I didnt want to overwhelm them with questions so I just tried to respect them and ask a couple things. Frank also assured me that as long as there are readers and a want for more then they will give us more. This comic was something I was eyeing for a bit but I have to say its way cooler than I thought it might be! I also need to stop by Larrys shop more as its not too far away and he seemed like a really cool guy for sure.
  22. I woke up today, took scans of all my 5 Ghosts at home that I hand picked and submitted my best regular cover forward to Larry after I visited his comic shop with one of my girlfriends for the signing. Larry was a nice cool guy with a nice comic shop! Even though I was in a hurry I got to chat with him for a minute... I gave him the best one I hand picked at my local store the second it was available and it was literally FAR better than most if not all the others I looked at while picking it. I know these suffer from spine dents but from my scans on my pc and my eyes/iphone pics I know I submitted a nice one! I also took some pictures of it before and after the signing so Im pretty pumped! Chris and Frank are extremely polite and I got to see them at Larrys in Lowell as well as my hometown comic shop when I got back. I talked to Frank for a minute who again is extremely polite and also watched Chris for a sec doing a sketch. They deserve all the praise for this comic as it is easily one of my new favorites and I really enjoyed the first issue!
