  1. Walking Dead is huge so he's busy as hell. He's involved with Thief Of Thieves and writes Outcast. Invincible is supposedly ending. So I guess we won't be seeing any other comics or if we do it will be a long time. Anyone know if he has any other comics planned?
  2. Anyone know what Ottley is doing after Invincible if it ends? I'm guessing nothing has been announced yet.
  3. I thought it was OK. I like the regular cover better.
  4. 10 was a little late and 11 keeps getting pushed back. Who knows when we'll get 11. The new issues are really good just not as jam packed or as long of reads as the first arc. I recommend waiting for the trade or waiting till you can pick up the new issues for cheap. At this rate it may never finish. I know big surprise right.
  5. WRT WD 150, it depends on what you consider the Ottley, Latour and Moore variants that were announced late to be. Sure, they were print to order, but aren't they still variants? Yes they are still variants. But they are not incentive variants or retailer variants. ES is talking about retailer and incentive variants specifically in his speech and trying to cut way back on them or cut them out completely. I don't really like equal ratio regular price variants either but I guess they don't "pad" the numbers as much as retailer or incentive variants do or sort of encourage smaller shops to order more copies of an issue, that they might not be able to sell or won't sell, just to qualify for a 1 and 50 or 1 and 100 incentive variant.
  6. Spawn 259 to 261 have 2 covers each. They are 50/50 or regular price variants. They are not incentive variants. ES is talking about retailer and incentive variants in his most recent speech.
  7. The issue of Spawn coming out this week has multiple variants. What's the ratio? Doesn't Todd McFarlane have his own division of Image kind of like Kirkman has Skybound so they can do more of what they want?
  8. I know a few books like Low and Tokyo Ghost have been doing regular cover price variants but I don't think Image has done any incentive variants for around 7 months maybe more. If they have what are they?
  9. Did Image completely stop releasing incentive variants and retailer variants? I think they did around July 2015. Does anyone know of any incentive variants or retailer variants released since they announced (around July 2015 I think) they were stopping or cutting way back on them? Walking Dead 150 is Skybound so I guess Kirkman can do what he wants. But 150 only had one 1/0 incentive variant. The rest were regular cover price variants if you preordered.
  10. Says the guy who had multiple variants/reprintings to his own title, Nowhere Men. What does he say about reprints? Are reprints bad? If a book keeps selling out and there is demand shouldn't it be reprinted? Trying to add nuance to the conversation is probably doomed to failure - anytime ES is brought up on the boards it seems like the hate train is not too far behind Nuance or sense?
  11. Says the guy who had multiple variants/reprintings to his own title, Nowhere Men. IIRC, those variants were all show-specific and not incentive variants. The problem with the incentive variants is that stores order a ton of regular covers that sit unsold forever just to get a few incentive variants. Sure, a sales report is going to show a certain title is being ordered like gangbusters, but those copies are all sitting unsold. It's painting a false picture of the market. You are correct sir.

  13. I agree. I guess it's safe for shops to under order cause of the delay and easier for Image to print small print runs as needed so not to get stuck with too many copies.
