Interesting, I had never tried to pre screen an unlimited value book good to know.  You should just click on the High Value tier and try to submit it that way.  That way you get the pre screen and if they think the final value is too far off based on the final grade they will bump up the price/tier for you after grading (IF it makes your pre screen grade)

Unfortunately High Value doesn't allow prescreen either ....

1.5 allows for up to 1/10th of the back cover to be missing - think we're over that amount missing here. 1.0 - allows no back cover at all - I think you could get a 1.0 - looking at recent sales data on-line still worth sending in.

I'd be over the moon with a 1.5... I think a 1.0 is reasonable as well

0.5, but might squeak a 1.0 if a grader is feeling generous.

Thinking the same - what specifically differentiates between a .5 and a 1.0 in this case?  Is it mainly the size of the missing pieces?

  4. I recently picked up this X-Men 1 and debating submitting for grading. The covers are detached but presents fairly well with none of the most important cover elements missing on the front. The rest of the book is complete with no cut outs. I have thoughts on what it would grade but would like to hear all opinions. TIA !

That is a GREAT question! Because of the device, I believe the books would be rejected from pressing. Once our Pressing specialists have had a chance to review them, if they do get rejected our CS team will contact you about any needed refunds for the service. As for grading, we have and do grade books with additional inserts or extras in the book (like the Captain Britain mask that is not attached to the inside pages). In this case, it is going to depend on the size of the device. Our graders will need this in hand first to review but it is possible if the device is too thick, the books would be rejected from the service as ineligible for certification if encapsulation would end up damaging the books. Once you get these back, if you have the chance, let me know, or post a picture of one of the slabs in this post so other customers (and myself) can reference this later.

    Thanks as always @Bigdavebooth!

I'm also curious about this one - I'll try to follow along here or please let me know as well! :foryou:
I think the book may be thin enough that a thicker holder would safely hold it, depending on the other requirements at play for the process to work without issue.

  6. I found this folded up in a collection some time ago and haven't figured out what the graphic came off of. One of those "maybe someday I'll figure it out"s. The material is like a cotton T-shirt and extremely thin, but the graphic itself doesn't have much wear at all.  Seems to be cut out of something though. Image search hasn't been much help. Anyone have/had this shirt or whatever it was back in the day?

  7. I picked up this book the other day and am unsure what to call it grade-wise. I knew about this issue in advance and I got it for a pretty good deal.

It almost looks like it was in a stack of books at one time where the spine stuck out just enough to get either a dark "dust shadow" or a spray paint of some type. I'd be curious what the top book looked like or others in the stack. My main concern is that it might be labeled as restoration by CGC... Does anyone have experience with submitting books like this? Insight is much appreciated. Scans are below:

  8. :hi: I've been buying and selling on the forums since 2013 and online marketplaces (eBay and others) since 1999. Feel free to check out the kudos here on the forums if you'd like some references.

📦 Shipping via USPS Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation due to value is included in the prices listed. Prices are in USD. Shipping to USA only (sorry int'l friends).

💰 Payment via PayPal Goods and Services invoice only, due within 24 hours. An invoice to pay from will be sent via email.

All sales final unless I happen to have missed something, and we can work it out. I don't foresee that happening but I try to be easy to work with and practice the Golden Rule in general and hope you do the same.

⚠️ No HOS or Probs (boardies on any Hall of Shame or Probation Lists). I reserve the right to not sell to anyone I don’t feel comfortable with - whether they be on a list, have a poor reputation of not paying, history of scamming others online, if I have you on ignore, etc. This has never had to happen so far - just a friendly note to cover that base.
