  1. Just trying to get this straight ... You bought 2 copies of MP #48 from Gresham and complained to him that they were overgraded. But in your latest sales thread those copies were listed at a higher grade than the one Gresham originally assigned? Here's what he bought... Now, in the new sales thread: The 181 is a 7.0 The MP 47 was 9.0/9.2 And he's mentioned the 48's were 5.5 to 9.0 but the references in the thread are gone now. Then there's the issue of the several noted occasions when he made claims of overgrading to obtain partial refunds from other boardies. I've done about 100 transactions here on the boards on the buying or trading side. I deal almost solely with raw books. There are bound to be errors somewhere. I personally far prefer to issue a partial refund than a return.

But in your latest sales thread those copies were listed at a higher grade than the one Gresham originally assigned? Not quite. I purchased 4 copies. Too were overgrazed by a little. I listed 5 in a sales thread. I got 4 copies from Gresham, 1 copy from THE_BEYONDER, and purchased one copy in a massive lot a year ago. I gave NP Gresham's worst copy to my wife's cousin, because he loves Antman. I listed my other 5 copies (BEYONDER's being the best to my recollection) in the sales thread.
  3. I hear you...I'm pretty much a straight up collector...when I sell stuff, it's either because I've upgraded, or I've decided to no longer collect something...so, I tend to fall more on the "board flipping is annoying" side of things. However, I've seen the debates about this on here before, and I understand both sides of the argument. Also, I've come to understand that it's just part of the current landscape. I'm one who doesn't understand the problem. Ed, if you bought a book from me say at $50 because I'm liquidating books and in a hurry to get cash, and you realize the book is worth considerably more to the right buyer, why would you feel obligated to resell it for only $50? There is neither sin in seeking profit nor is there any exclusive right of "dealers" to buy cheap and sell dear. Its a free market for everyone. That is the beauty of it, and that it is a free market likely contributes to the volume and variety of books available for you to collect. The issue has always been with people trying to get a deal in any way and then resell here at a higher price, effectively rubbing the original sellers nose in it. And the debate is very old, I have never cared for in forum flips, I have always seen them as poor form. For awhile some of us even entertained how long should there be posession before flipping on the boards. But again, I never cared for it, and try to avoid dealing with those who do this. I agree with this. At the same time tho, I did not buy this to flip it, I bought it for my own collection. I would keep the best 48, and sell of the 3 48 under copies. Then something came up. I now owe a substantial amount of money due to a medical issue on Monday, so I began listing many books, even books I wanted to keep-including these.
  4. I would like to clarify, I stated that 2 of the Marvel Premiere 48's were slightly lower grade. NOT Marvel Premiere 47. I also stated in the same post to wait until I got home for further detail. A few seconds after I posted that in out PM (literally, seconds) I realized that might had made it sound as if I wasn't happy with our transaction, so i instantly edited in "but I'm ok with the box overall" NP Gresham had not even viewed the PM yet.
  5. The however seems to be getting pretty clear. I claimed that two Marvel Premiere 48's were slightly lower grade, and that I would review the box when I returned home. In the exact same post, I also said I was happy with the box overall. What did you grade the MP 48's at in your sales thread before you removed the reference to them? I saw before you had made mention of them, and now that mention is gone except for the last post where you mention one sold. So how do they grade now? I said that they ranged from fine minus (5.5) to 9.0 or so. And BTW, I did buy a fairly nice copy off of THE_BEYONDER. I'm not here to scam people. I'm not. I never will be. I'm not caught because there is nothing to catch me doing. There really isn't. I don't even have any comics worth more than $100 or so.

  7. I did business with this dude! Great transaction! And he's got on heckuva Dave Stevens collecting
  8. Your money is refunded NPGreasham. I hope boardies will continue to do business with me in the future. I made a mistake and I made it right. I feel as if this book is really a 9.0/9.2. Either way, in the future, if any of you have any issues with me whatsoever, please send me a PM so I can make it right (thumbs u
  9. Run a test. Sell books to GI and follow your advice. Let me know how it works out. I've sold lots on this board, and only had to do a partial refund 2 times. One because of bad packaging, (I was new) and one because of a grade disagreement.
  10. No, I stated that when I opened the box, two of the books seemed to be lower grade then anticipated, but I would re look them over when I got home. He then Blew up and refunded, didn't allow me to return, told me to keep them, "removed self from topic", and ignored me. What do you mean, "Didn't allow you to return" ? There's a return address on his package, right? I don't think he has the power to prevent you from using the US Mail. Good point. I am happy to refund the money. But NPGresham, you did state "Keep the books, I'm sending a refund I'm done with this deal"
  11. NPGresham, I would like to refund you the money as I previously wanted to. Send me your paypal address.
  12. Interesting that this feedback is not the 1st. And so closely after preaching to me from the soap box. Priceless. Good point, but I tried to speak with you, and you continued ignoring me via email.

  14. I only use 775 2 mil mylars and 750 backs (sometime HB sometimes FB) That is the same book and the same bag and board. I always want the buyer to be happy. I think I have given more books away than sold recently. I have no problem refunding if I make a mistake or a buyer feels I am wrong on grade. But no mention was made of over-grading, just a complaint about under-grading. You are on ignore. Also, you said clearly in the PM "do not send the books back, keep them, refund sent enjoy. I then posted "If you are going to refund, I should return the books. I did not ask for that at all. That is over the top" Your response "NPGresham has removed himself from this topic."
  15. Yes, I would have far preferred a PM from Gresham. For the record, I say the BC, and I STILL grade it 9.0/9.2.
