  1. The deal was 25 a long, less if you take all, with all keys intact and overall high grade with complete in order runs. That is what is called a gift horse. This thread is not just looking at the mouth, it is xrays and periodontal check. Yes, at 900 for 4 boxes of bat/detective books, I would do the full check up, are the keys razor sharp, but that is 10 times the cost of the deal. At average condition, that 900 is full retail, if the books are gemmy and saluting the flag then deal. Last 9.8 Tec 880 i sold was 700 cash. And what is cost of this entire deal (1st mentioned as 60 long, later described as 30 long) at 25 per? I am not excited by deal now as it has been picked but I still would happily take it at 25 per long for seller, 10 profit per for poster, if you can deliver to my booth in Megacon in a few days. If I were feeling stupid lazy I could have it all sold for profit on setup day. More importantly, DMT, thumbs up or down?
  2. You are on to me dear watson. But as it turns out, maybe i am the seller, plot twist! And as a a further story line, i thought we were on the coinee board all along. Double plot twist. Dmt decriminalized in Denver! After use, i find we are all a part of same breathing universe, i am you am i am you. and look at those colors. Weee.
  3. And I am not saying poster is lazy. And no one is maligning anyone. Just that it would be silly to invite the seller here as someone mentioned, it would make for awkward workplace chat. You dont go to a show, dig in someones dollar boxes, then spend the next few years telling war stories about how you found the Albedo 2 and Goon 1 Avatar press in there, and they came back highest graded. You hear that, Jeff, you dont do that! Err, sorry, go on. See you tomorrow Jeff, breakroom is supposed to have the better coffee now.
  4. plant, yeah, no. that dealer isnt with the clouded judgement. this was a 1 in 1000 easy peazy these deals dont come gift wrapped like this type deal. or as donutdude said, free money. if you were really lazy, you could just skim in an hour the keys that pop out to you, plus whatever no brainer AH covers and fill a keeper box. then place a freecycle ad to give away rest within a few minutes.
  5. Really building on what logan said, best be on safe side. Kill the coworker, bury the books, and burn the shared place of employment. Maybe even move to canada though i guess that last bit would be extreme.
  6. Thursday and Friday is great for shopping. Saturday is so crowded you will not want to do a lot of box diving unless you are really into peoples armpits in your face and getting bumped by cosplay paraders. Please bring your trading box!
  7. Not that anyone asked me, but a coworker, someone you want to be on friendly terms with for years, you treat aa more than just a cut throat deal. I would have taken it all and not leave the really less desirable bulk behind. Sort of like hide the body, you got away with a steal you dont want to rub their noses in the left behind as that will be not a great thing to live with a coworker for years. Again, who am i but one of the cheap seat guys throwing popcorn.
  8. I already offered poster a 10 buck per longbox profit for it all and would be there today. And i like driving from boca to jacksonville as much as root canal. I didnt get the pm saying i win this windfall. This was a 1 in a 1000 deal and the seller gave you a friends and family offer where you could cherry pick best runs for a dime a book so next buyer can clearly explain to seller some numbers. Btw every week you can see on neatsuff auctions on ebay, collections like this sell to eager buyers. This 60 long would have fit as just another listing where it ends with a 5k price. I dont know how neatstuff gets buyers who buy lots where so much of profit squeezed out, but thats not case here.
  9. There is probably a regional difference at play. Here in florida, the devils armpit, it is hot and humid. Super cheap, super big bulk deals are available, but often there are condition issues as books in extreme heat and humidity bloom up like cauliflower with moisture wrinkles if brought out even once for a yard sale. On top of being high grade, this deal is organized, and nicely bagged and boarded and complete runs with keys intact and take all for less than 25 a long. I would guesstimate this is a 1 in a 1000 deal from what I run across, but maybe these deals are more common outside the devils armpit?
  10. We all have different experiences. A few years ago i was moving a good 500 to 1000 long boxes a year. Just from being active in shows and selling at 1 buck each, cherry picking grading worthy key books, then blowing out boxes at end of a few shows and buying fresh bulk from offers made at end of shows. I have greatly slowed down but Even now, just today, i had a cl listing where i sold 4 boxes for 200. As an example of 1 outlet Every week for years i trade books in to mycomicshop for trade credit. I almost never get presented such an easy money making deal as what is described here. But if you wanted a super low stress flip, and this would be silly as you must see how you were gifted an unusual and easy profit opportunity, i will take it all and give you a 10 buck per long box profit and i can be there tomorrow.
  11. I am jealous. Would have been a gift no brainer profit to buy this all and i would have said yes inside of a few minutes. 60 organized copper longs with all the keys intact would be serious 5 times profit quick or 10 times profit slowly pieced out assuming high grade. (Is it high grade?) Plus that is small enough deal i could have taken it all in 1 trip in my cargo van. And i am in florida.

  15. The ego driven broadcasting via registry seems to me to be not at all just a harmless vanity project. It seems a contest broadcasting you are most worthy of being robbed blind, see, look at all this cool bling, do you need a gift wrap with it sir. The $1.4 mill theft of these books, that might actually be on low side when you look at books involved. And theft from a Boca Raton, Fl storage facility, that is same city I live in. The better storage facilities here require security gate access compound facility that then requires security access to building, as well as key to storage locker, and multiple camera angles that will catch not only thief but vehicle plate. Ballsy theft, of easily id material. I have hopes there is at least partial recovery of material as well as a thief caught red handed.

  19. this is not just Fedex/USPS issue. I had a CGC delivery by UPS do 3 attempts last week when I was on a trip. On friday called the info# and heard a recording say that package available for pickup this monday morning. Great, but this morning I try, and I am told this box has already been sent back to CGC, per CGC request, that after 3 del. attempts box will not be held at hub for even a minute, it is returned back to them. I literally never had even a minute to ever physically get box. very bummed, very expensive box that I have been waiting to get for quite awhile, and it now getting road wear bouncing around trucks enduring florida heat and humidity and rough handling on a never ending road trip. Rep I spoke to said this was entirely a CGC request, 3 del. attempts then sent back, no holds at a hub allowed, online didnt even have option available for hold.
