  1. Hello everyone, you might remember me as the publisher of the Canadian golden age reprints of Brok Windsor, Nelvana of the Northern Lights, Polka dot Pirate and Wow Comics #01, or possibly as the publisher of the Fashion In Action 1980s reprint. Of course, I have a new project out that you might be interested in. This one is a reprint of a 1930s-1940s comic, Sally the Sleuth. She first premiered as a pulp comic then later in full colour adventures in Crime Smashers. I am currently running a crowdfunding campaign to see if there's enough interest in a full colour edition (I already have a black and white edition on the market) with expanded pages, as I was able to find quite a few after I released the first edition. On the page itself I also list all the comics I'm missing still! Check it out, if it's of interest, feel free to fund, if it's not, we'll just stick with the black and white edition. https://ifundwomen.com/projects/sally-sleuth
  2. Hi all, I'm the publisher of the 1940s comic book reprints Brok Windsor, Nelvana of the Northern Lights, Polka Dot Pirate, and Wow Comics #01, and the 1980s (not bronze, not modern, what do we call this era?) Fashion In Action reprint. Right now I'm diving into a new reprint project and am doing a collection of Sally the Sleuth. I have the low-res colour scans and most of all the black and white originals from the Spicy Pulps. But in order to do a better quality restoration, I'd prefer to work from higher-res colour scans for her adventures in Crime Smashers. Does anyone have 300DPI+ scans of the Sally strips from Crime Smashers #1-#18 at all? It would be much appreciated if you could get in contact with me! My email is hope@bedsidepress.com Below is the cover of the upcoming reprint set to release in fall. I'll reprint with the lower-res if need be and do my best to clean them up, but it's not ideal. Thanks all!
  3. Hi there! I'm looking for images to use in an upcoming documentary called Lost Heroes about Canadian comic book superheroes. In particular we are looking for images that we can license from the rights-holders to set the mood for segments of the history. If any of you are interesting in contributing any of your photos, or photos where you have an idea of who the rights-owners are that I can contact, please email me at nicholson.hope@gmail.com. You will be credited in the film and have our deepest appreciation. In particular we are looking for images along these lines: That show the "Hey Kids, Comics!" sign, in the original era Children in the 1940s through 1970s reading comic books Soldiers reading comic books They don't have to be Canadian, since we're just looking to set the scene! We're wrapping editing in a week, so if you have anything you'd like to send in, please do as soon as you can
