  1. kudos to mlovest for letting me fill a couple of his NM modern holes in the collection.
  2. Kudos to KingofRulers for a trade deal....bronze and silver for gold....and I'm pretty sure we're both happy about it.
  3. Kudos to Divad for being 3rd in the list of people offered Hulk 180-182 and willing to make an offer that I could live with. I made my profit and now Here's to your slabbing and flipping profits.
  4. Kudos to October for an easy sale of Hulk 162......I still need to cash the check. Hopefully we can make some more deals in the future.
  5. Kudos to UK Flaming Telepath for his purchase of a group from the Hulks R Us collection and a few out of my personal collection. It was a pleasure to deal with you. Thanks
  6. I've got a Golden Age Supersnipe V2 #7, great black cover. It's a one staple book. Graded Qualified 8.0 with a detached centerfold and it doesn't bother me one bit. It even has a $5 price penciled on the back upper right corner . I paid a pittance for it....but with that said I also have a pretty nice reader. If your selling it raw, describe the defects and call it apparent just like CGC. If you are buying it, compare it to what a G/VG by wear would look like and pay accordingly higher. If you are keeping it, no worries, it's still complete and readable. Lots of great books have noted prices on their interior page from days gone by, and it's not much of a detraction in my opinion except if it's a book looking to be graded VF or better. I'd say most collectors would easily pay up to a VG/FN price for a comic with a detached centerfold if it was otherwise high grade (NM) and possibly up to a FN value, depending on rarity. Heck, would you rather have a NM with a full length sub crease (VG/FN) or a NM with a loose centerfold that can be tucked in nicely. Eye appeal......is a very good thing.
  7. Kudos to Aces for being the only board member to "risk" purchasing a comic from me when I pre-listed them before Ebay. ASM KS #3. The books are not listed on Ebay and won't be for a little while, as I'm hoping to come into a much bigger deal. Thanks Aces.
  8. It was an impulse purchase that I didn't check out in the guide. Pictorial romances 16. Paid $67 for a decent condition copy. Maybe Fine. Front is really nice, back has a few issues. I didn't have one in the series, and wanted to check out the interiors. Ebay item 6572992896
  9. I finally beat Tommyfoxwood on a comic i wanted this week. I must have overbid. I've sold to him, and he pays every time. His amassing of comics must be impressive by now.
  10. I wanted to post my similar copy, only mine is very fuzzy due to the fact that the scanner won't get in through the slab. Yours is nicer and mine is graded by the others....as a Fine+ 6.5. Great Book
  11. Nice pre-code "filler"? Hows the interior art?
  12. So is someone going to help out, update and finalize the linkage to all these great covers. Count me out, I barely post covers on the boards.
  13. Here's the bomber 4, not my copy as I do have one, but a scan i picked up while watching a second auction end up going for 1.5x guide for the condition. I'll send the scan of my copy for better resolution if necessary. Just pm me.
  14. I guess. 1 comic in 38 years. Not really prolific. Maybe a few pressed under books too.
  15. Sounds like a bad movie title....I married a ...... I married a centerfold to a Sgt Fury issue below #20 when I was about 21 as I had a nice copy missing centerfold and another nice coverless copy. Cut was the same, paper color was the same, staple placement was the same. I couldn't tell that it didn't belong when I was done. I was so proud when completed. I'm sure it's still in the collection somewhere. My only example of known undisclosed restoration in my collection. It's good to get that off my chest. I was once a closet comic restorer. (I might even do it again someday.......)
  16. I had a headline 8 years ago that was a fair at best. I should have kept it until I upgraded. That was well over 15 years ago. The cover was nice, just some major tears that could have been easily repaired. I didn't really appreciate the significance of the book when I had it.
  17. that one is on my tag line. hopefully I'll find one as nice some day. good job.
  18. Here's a great book that I bought off ebay for a song. Like 30$ or so about 1 year ago. It grades out as a conservative FN/VF in my opinion. I was really happy when it arrived.
  19. I found what I'll call a great deal from my LCS this evening. A copy of Katy Keene #1 in G or better for $25. The pages are nice, no writing inside, all there, no cut-outs. The store had it marked at Poor. I don't know what they were smoking. The major defects include a tiny spine split at the bottom, a piece of tape on the bottom used from long ago to reinforce and the inking on the E in Keene as can be seen on the cover. Nothing else to speak of.
  20. And Kudos back to Paul (Paull) for fast payment via money order so paypal didn't have to take a chunk. .......and especially for not overbidding me on the Bomber #4 that should be at my door in the next few days. I was first vulture on the carrion. Great guy and nice to deal with a golden oldie collector like myself.
  21. Here's the bomber 4 I just won off Ebay. Oops, it's not there now. Hopefully I'll have it in a week or two.
