Disc Golf and Sneakerz O.o
oldmilwaukee6er commented on oldmilwaukee6er's journal entry in Oldmilwaukee6er's Icebox
Some Youtube videos that I watch… First and foremost is a great comic book / cartooning channel called Cartoonist Kayfabe. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU0v4IGzj2wK-PmjASkK2Rg/featured I listen to this while grading, drawing, etc. Cannot recommend it enough- I like the outlaw comics angle, that they touch on underground comix occasionally (and like a lot of the same artists I like), and their genuine love of the comics medium, which for me comes through all the time. Sneakers Seth Fowler https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgtHJiyE6ZwaJO65tdudDfw Good technical reviews that will teach one the lingo of sneakerhead and mainstream taste. His channel has really blown up and he shills for lots of small products. A good study in modern day influencer culture. He even is in a Poshmark commercial I see from time to time. BULL1TRC (Bullet RC) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw6Ou-fRcPa23GvYq-VHEbA For me a real authentic sneakerhead who has his own taste profile and offers reviews across a spectrum of budgets. I like his music, chunky production style and he has a few videos where he drinks and trashes on crappy expensive shoes. Foamer Simpson https://www.youtube.com/user/mrFOAMERSIMPSON Exaggerated hand gestures, nice production value, shills StockX app, and a real authentic love of kicks. His younger brother, Buckets or Young Buckets, works the camera. They are a great team with over 500k subscribers, a real mark of achievement for an influencer.- 6 comments

Coming soon! A new journo about my Covid-19 'I made a thing' and how I I'm going to spend my stimulus money on sneakers and try and sell a pair for $3k within one year. I kinda want to try this... I've got a bit of time, I've got the feels RE writing / learning a new collectible field on the fly so here goes! Maybe I can get the lady to write on influencer culture in the time of Covid-19.

I just shipped / insured a $1700 USPS priority box without issues. The ins. was $24. However, if I had to do it again I would likely go the registered route because I forgot to also add signature confirmation to my box and was sweating the 3 days it was in transit. Otherwise I self ins all my feebay packages. I've had one easy claim on a lost book via USPS priority (where I was receiver). Interesting convo

IN THE ERA OF COVID19...BUYER'S MARKET?
oldmilwaukee6er replied to trmoore54's topic in Comics General
I just got a Make Offer to Owner via Heritage on a book I bought in late 2018. 47.8% more than what I paid according to the email, a pretty strong result. It surprised the hell out of me and I'm tempted to accept to bolster funds for future purchases, but I'm wary. Has anyone flipped a purchase this way? Any unforeseen risk? Thanks in advance. -
Some Usagi Yojimbo doodles on get well cards... Since all the disc golf courses are closed, I've been drawing short mini to entertain myself and my crew.

That and the fact that with digital you don't really own anything. One is just renting the digital rights... The concept of digital rights management. -

Do collectors often reset or start over?
oldmilwaukee6er replied to ignimbrite's topic in Comics General
It is common for collectors to price themselves out of a collectible field, to reach a point where the pieces coming in have to be of a certain quality (and over time it becomes cost prohibitive). At that time collectors will typically transition to a new collectible that is cheaper and more fun. -
Problem with E-Gerber Fullbacks
oldmilwaukee6er replied to JoshGrav's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
I have a similar issue with my acid free at time of manufacture boards, most local LCSs use Southern Hobby. However, for me it's more environmental than anything. If I leave my boards out in the humidity for a few days they will become convex. My corrective measure is to keep them bagged until ready to use and pressed down under a stack of books. Or bag them all up in one sitting and store them flat in a box top. Hope it helps in the interim. -
Newbie question about verification
oldmilwaukee6er replied to Biggest's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
He clarified this ahead of the big 2020 signing event, but he signs just about anything Venom because it's a character he created. And he'll sign just about anything he's done art in, even if it's obscure. He doesn't sign spoof covers and a handful of books for personal reasons. More info- https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/7862/ It is interesting because in 2017 the only Spawn blanks were the 265s and the Mexican 240 (now we have Spawn Kills Everyone Too, Spawn 300, and Spawn 301)
