  1. Prior to Covid I finished a few runs up so 2021 was a maintenance year. I did add Green Lantern and Green Arrow to complete (I believe) this set of 70s DC patches. I bought my limit of Usagi Yojimbo Wanderer's Road #1 Peach Momoko LE 700 variants when IDW dumped them prior to NYCC 2021. I switched my LCS this year so I am missing less pulls and having to pay resale less and less. That said, I had to go to the secondary market for this FCBD editon. This title as a whole gets my third spot. Perhaps the best modern horror comic out there? Also symbolizes my enjoyment of the Cartoonist Kayfabe YouTube channel and my changing consumption habits. Honorable mention: Spawn Kickstarter action figures (L on both shelves). Pretty sure they arrived after the start of the year. In fact it's been a good year all around for Spawn comics and action figures.
  2. I should also say that this book was created on the 2600 block of Frederick St about 5 blocks away from my spot.
  3. First printing... Matte pebbled cover stock, 49c price and local Milwaukee ads. Print run was about 4k, 3500 sold locally and 500 sold in San Francisco. Fmv for vfnm is maybe 250-400 to the right buyer. 2nd printing was done by Print Mint and the ads swapped out. Kitchen was shorted his end by the publisher (poor accounting practices) so he decided to start printing his own books and formed Kitchen Sink Press.
  4. I was stumped on mine too... I hit a local show last weekend to drum up ideas and talk to dealers. It helped get me to that breakthrough moment and got me looking at and talking about comics outside my comfort zone
  5. Paper covers rock Bad Idea beats paper shortage This company is stupid
  6. Opened it just enough to know... received my SS gift today! Full thanks to follow after Christmas. Om
  7. No Mighty Con has totally been under my radar for a few years. I missed it but saw a few people post their purchases on a Wisco comic Facebook group
  8. New Berlin, WI at the ale house (Comicverse) and Kenosha Comic Book show, maybe an hour or so apart
  9. This post inspired me because I've got two localish shows Sunday. PM sent, I am in.
  10. IDW ran a special on the last copies of this Peach con exclusive during NYCC... I picked up my limit
  11. In my area it's been delayed a week due to production delays
  12. Cameo 119 (non-cover), cover appearance on the Opena cover for 300
  13. Gamestop variants for King Spawn and Gunslinger for preorder- https://www.gamestop.com/search/?q=spawn&lang=default
  14. Damn playas!! I like the read on Gunslinger Spawn as a solid convention grinder. Interesting observation and one I look fwd to testing next year. I think its cool we're getting the actual print numbers for the 1:250 incentives disclosed. As an aside... I miss Comichrons numbers. As a Spawn collector I made the decision to let the 1:50s go... I got a Spawn's Universe and a King Spawn 1:50 that I pre-ordered through Wade's Comic Madness... but I finally have my LCS dialed in with all regular covers, all printings and the condition I'm getting is NM+. Plus what little info I can glean is that the print runs are high for these books and I'm betting longterm demand will drop (as it does with Spawn) and there will be buying opportunities.
  15. Idw 2020 con exclusive is on sale!! https://nycc.idwpublishing.com/products/usagi-yojimbo-wanderers-road-1-2020-nycc-exclusive?_pos=1&_psq=usag&_ss=e&_v=1.0
  16. Nothing whatever to do with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass, which is directly referenced by the movie. Or the subsequent pop culture of the reference such as Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit.
  17. $500. X-men #3. But the rest of them were raw and I wanted this one raw too for storage purposes. I wouldn't necessarily crack a slab in the 9.X range (investment grade) and I haven't cracked anything with a pedigree designation. My
  18. Satire begats parody begats meme. I think there's a general misunderstanding of copyright when it comes to use, fan use or fair use of copyright material. It used to irk me that McFarlane would not put out Spawn merchandise like T shirts. Eventually I went to a local artist and had him make me one. On the Usagi Yojimbo Facebook group I belong to, often ppl get gluteus ache over a Redbubble sticker or a Teepublic mask... I get it... but they often fail to differentiate between a copyright image vs parody vs fan art (which also is ubiquitous in artist alley at any convention). And to a large extent copyright is only such if one acts (constantly) to protect it. Maybe I'm missing the point here? Maybe the OP is less about fair use and more about perceived / imposed values of Peanuts or Schulz vs how those perceived / imposed values now align to current internet misuse.
  19. The initial characters in The Scorched #1 first issue will include: Reaper, Spawn, Redeemer, Gunslinger, Medieval Spawn, & She-Spawn
  20. Welcome to the boards @flugazi. Nice to have a fellow underground comix collector on the message boards. I'm sure you've found them but there is a general thread on UGs in the magazines section, and a thread that explores scarcer mini comix from the 1982 Kennedy guide in Bronze section. It is cool to see some of the Haight Ashbury pedigree surface... one of our fellow boardies (now deceased) helped to bring the collection to market. If you want a list of the pedigree, it is archived in my old journal here. Here's a link to some of my collection. Like you I like high grade first print Crumb, as well as the Freak Brothers and Zap Comix. Happy hunting and feel free to reach out via private message if you have any questions. Regards, Om aka Justin
  21. She Spawn, Lord Covenant (Dark Ages Spawn), Anti Spawn (Redeemer), Ninja Spawn, Plague Spawn, Jim Downing, Mandarin Spawn, Raven Spawn, HellSpawn, Cyber Spawn, Spawn X, Commando Spawn, Omega Spawn... there's probably more, probably some that just exist as action figures. The Scorched is the next monthly title to launch.
