  1. There was a poll, then it got deleted. Discussion is ongoing if another poll should be issued. Hustruck responded again, lied more, 4comix proved HT was lying. Discussion about reformation of the rules is ongoing in CG. That's basically it. -slym It seems like the CGC chatboards has become just like the Congress of the United States. Petty squabbling, in-fighting, votes, revotes, lying....it's all there. Yes, Im hoping to get caught up in an intern sex scandal any minute
  2. Too many lawyers trying to be lawyers and not being a community looking out for each other Second both of these. I'm fine amending whatever rules govern all of this, but both of these sentiments are spot on.
  3. I think anybody guilty of outright intentional deception, especially when they refuse to admit it, accept any responsibility or given any indication of remorse or any inclination to change, don't need to be here. Im no saint, but I cant imagine lying that big (fake pictures), and if I did and got nabbed, I'd expect it to be curtains for me. There are honest mistakes, mistakes out of desperation, and then just outright deception.
  4. I hope I have an interesting perspective to add this discussion. I have been watching this HOS process from before the nomination and up to this point, in large part to learn how it worked. I assumed it had been around a while and was old hat. Of course I've learned there is still disagreement about how it should work. I will say this; it seems some suggest that not much or anything should happen until people actually get ripped off. Of course this isn't a court of law or an actual government, and all we really have keeping it together is the general sense of community, and right and wrong. I think it's easy to over-lawyer and analyze this. It's ethics. If someone continually engages in unethical behavior that benefits themselves and does a disservice to the community, that is also a transgression in my book. It's the spirit of right and wrong, the intangibles, that makes this thing work, and lawyering it doesn't work in this type of online community. If someone never admits wrong, never apologizes, and just keeps it up, there has to be an understanding that it must be dealt with and can't be allowed to continue. Of course the group can decide what is appropriate.
  5. Three days left to vote on the HusTruck HOS Nomination Poll. What's the required percentage to get into the Hall? Guidelines just say a poll is required, but doesn't give the percentage.
  6. I believe that one uses CIS technology instead of CCD so it's too new to be useful on the slabs. I will dig later for the list of verified scanners later. This is what I was afraid of after reading those 10 pages. My wife loves the printer so I don't see me getting a different one now. Get a new wife? Yeah, I don't want a new one of those either :: Maybe negotiate having two? Then after that solve the Middle East and find sasquatch.
  7. CNN Breaking News Former President George W. Bush hopes skypinkblu runs for president. "I think she would be a great president," the former President said in an exclusive interview with CNN's Jake Tapper. "I have no clue what's on her mind and we will talk when she's ready. I noticed she's moving around the country quite a bit and posting a lot on comics sites," George W. Bush said. For more of CNN's interview with former President George W. Bush, watch "The Lead with Jake Tapper" on CNN at 4 p.m. ET. For complete coverage of breaking news, go to CNN TV, CNN.com and CNN Mobile.
  8. You know, the whole gay marriage thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that, Seinfeld would say. Anyhoo...Im going to quit talking now...Happy New Years!
  9. Got two books quickly with no problems after paying by check. Thanks!
  10. Here's a New Year's giggle. Due to jsilverjanet's avatar I always assumed he was a she until I saw in that old Hustruck thread where he refered to his wife. Wait, I just realized him refering to his wife doesn't necessarily make him a him. Oh man...
  11. That previously posted picture of the damaged hulk case is a fake. Here is the original CGC thread where the Captain America 14 is shown. From July 2014. captain america 14 case
  12. There's a good chance the "undergraded" comic has already been cracked out and resubmitted by either the original submitter or someone who bought it who saw they had a far better comic then they label suggested.
  13. My wife heard me complaining about my scanner not being able to scan slabs and bought me a Canon Lide 120. It's a flat bed. Very sweet, but I have no idea if it can scan slabs clearly at high resolution. Any knowledge out there?? Thanks guys.
  14. If they come back and say this is an 8.0, heads will explode .
  15. That's absolute confirmation. Scam central. But how many times has it flipped before it came to the current owner?
  16. I'm pulling out the comic fodder lining my birdcage. That's some gold in those hills.
  17. The good news is Hotels.com has some specials this week. That way yall can get a room
  18. I assume if you sell to someone in the same state you live you may be required to collect and pay sales tax. I thought the same, but he lives in Florida. Maybe he just hates hippies. Maybe it's that ship insurance. There is a disclaimer that the insurance is not applicable in California. Or something to that effect.
  19. Well, Ebay automatically alphabetizes it once entered, so people would just have to paste the whole list every now and then to update it. Certain names were spit out for me, so I guess those folks changed their names and probably started back being bad under different names. I don't know squat about Ebay on this issue, but I guess the seller list would just go into the same blocked bidder list, since there isn't a blocked seller option, unless Im missing something, which is highly possible.
  20. This list is amazing and a great resource. However, is it possible to have one list that goes into the reasons, and a second list that is just the names in a format where they could just be pasted into Ebay in bulk? As it is, alphabetical, you also don't know who's been added unless you read through all of the posts. If you could just paste it, that wouldn't matter. Not a big deal, just a thought, because this is a great (AND FREE!) resource.
  21. I don't know anything about the specific charges being discussed, so I have no comment. However, this following example is the worst shill I've ever experienced, in terms of outright stupidity. I suspected the person was shilling. On Ebay of course. I was second highest bid. The auction ends like 11 pm eastern time. The seller pms me at 1115 and says, "Hey, I cant get the winner on the phone. The book is yours if you want it." Seriously?
  22. Ok, I guess I have to enter this thread. I am one of the people who canceled a sale to Hustruck. I did so reluctantly, after a significant amount of time, and with no ill will or happiness at all. I have nothing bad to say about him because I don't know exactly what happened, but clearly multiple negative things were happening with the usual payment methods, so I exercised discretion in cancelling the sale, which I've never done on these boards. Sellers most retain the discretion to exercise their judgment to cancel a sale when there are significant, multiple issues, involving a sale, I would think. I don't think the intent of the rules is you wait around for 30 days no matter what red flags are established well before the 30 day mark. If that is incorrect, I'd be happy to discuss it with someone of an official capacity. Because of this situation, I am amending future sales to say I expect payment within 48 hours unless further arrangements are made by PM. Also, I saw a sale recently where the seller said they reserved the right to not sell to someone who puts up an I take it, the implication being even if they were not on the probation or HOF list. I don't know if that is permissible. I have been forthright in my PMs to you Hustruck, and polite, and furthermore, genuine, in that I have not come to some ultimate judgment about what is going on here. But when multiple people report problems, then I get a message saying basically, "Hey, I sent you an echeck but it might not go through, but hey, I want to send a real check," it's more than enough reason to look at the totality of the situation (others had canceled paypal payments as well) and determine it's best to pump the brakes. As I indicated in my pm, I'm open to reassessing the possibility of future sales, if you are. But cancelled paypals, admitted possibility of canceled checks, and other things I don't see the need to blab open in public, topped off with a probation nomination, all pointed to the need to take a step back. Hopefully we can agree somewhat to disagree here...since were not politicians...
