ok its been 5 years since we had this discussion Since then this book has blown up in price tag and has now proven itself to be the most valuable comic of the last 75 years. Here are some stats I have been saving the past 5 yrs CGC Universal 833 copies / NM+ 9.6 or better = 1 copies / Heritage Auctions sold 140 copies as of 9/10 CGC Universal 1132 copies / NM+ 9.6 or better = 3 copies / Heritage Auctions sold 207 copies as of 9/12 CGC Universal 1256 copies / NM+ 9.6 or better = 3 copies / Heritage Auctions sold 246 copies as of 9/13 CGC Universal 1469 copies / NM+ 9.6 or better = 3 copies / Heritage Auctions sold 301 copies as of 7/15 CGC Universal 1847 copies / NM+ 9.6 or better = 4 copies / Heritage Auctions sold 406 copies as of 8/18 Yes its likely that some copies have been graded by CGC more than one and that Heritage has sold the same copy more than once. But gives us a good idea of copies coming to market as people cash in on the high prices. At this point we have had CGC for 18 yrs so it makes me think that surely more than 10% of copies out there have been graded which would be then 18,470 copies estimated. If 20% of copies have been graded that quickly drops the world total to approx 9,000 copies.

Haunted Mansion #1 1st printing Marvel - I have sold a couple copies already at $25.00 each. Not sure if anyone has reported on this or not - so just sharing the info

The new J Scott Campbell Lady Death variant will be popular later this month but its a new version of his cover from 2002 - perhaps the original will heat up ? Lady Death Gauntlet 1 (2002) $2.99 Chaos 18,201

Haunted Mansion #1 (Marvel 2016) all covers have sold out everywhere including Midtown and Diamond. Just a heads up - this one could be a good solid long term pick with Disney collectors. 2nd printing is on the way.

Anybody know any further info or have comments on the brand new Harley Quinn 3001 character that debuted last month in Justice League 3001 #5 Nobody seems to know much about this and i think its cause very few people read this book with a low print of only 15,000 making this book as equally rare as Scooby Doo Team Up #12 thanks

The purpose of my charts and lists is to have a handy reference to educate collectors and I also enjoy doing it for long term historical reasons - its fun to look back as time goes by knowing there was some documentation. Thats why the wizard top 10 was popular for so long and its still fun to look back at 20 yrs later. Any collector/buyer/investor is only going to do well if they know what they are doing and keeping up on the market and can figure out trends themselves. The people who foresee a trend coming are the ones that succeed - not the ones that are the last ones to try and cash in. I do try to make the chart as accurate as possible - its updated every 2 weeks. I appreciate those who read my articles on comics - I have posted hundreds and hundreds of articles online. I have been doing comic book research for over 20 years and have done thousands and thousands of hours of research. I spend dozens of hours every single week keeping my eye on new hot books, trends and giving this research to everyone for free. Thanks to those who appreciate the info and help contribute. I love promoting comics and documenting the trends.

I did bring in 13 of them - but I had them all pre-sold even before release date so those are all floating out to new owners.

You are right. I do NOT list variants at all UNLESS they are bringing crazy more money than they normally would. A 1:25 ratio variant usually sells for about $12.50 - if one sells for $50.00 its going to be reported by me just as an example.

Darkstar - good points. Well i guess maybe i will see its just the luck of a few factors that have helped it take off. Since Diamond still has copies of #34 and #36 it would seem likely that the print run would be similar for #35 though possibly that one dealer on ebay took all remaining copies once they had a few impressive sales.

It seems logical to me that the reason Batman #35 combo pack is selling for so much is because the regular cover is considered a key issue with value and therefore collectors will usually pay more for a limited print run variant of a key issue. Seems simple enough. If #35 stays as a key issue with value than the combo pack version will therefore also hold its value long term.

Anybody know where you can buy boxes made specifically to ship comic books that hold between 50 and 100 comics? It is possible that seller bought up all the copies that Diamond had left over. Diamond is now sold out of Batman #35 combo pack but still has #34 and #36 available So perhaps that seller lucked out and got a few hundred copies !!

I wrote that article about the rarity of Combo Packs You bring up a very good point about what the print run could actually be on these since they were not popular in comic shops sales mentioned on Comichron appear quite low or dont rate at all. But yes its very obvious DC does print extras - in fact a few combo packs that a year old can still be ordered today through Diamond. DC in most cases seems to print about 1,000 extra at least of any comic but thats not a known guaranteed fact for these combo packs. So would it be logical to guess that there could be many more variants out there if only the indicia tells us the difference as most people would never check non-key books for that.
