There is at least 1 cgc 9.8 blank bar code in existence. This came to market on eBay and lasted a day. A private deal was made for the book and the listing removed. Original asking price on eBay was $3500.

This is most likely the source of the blank bar code. The package has a bar code on it, so the comic most likely came without.

Clock starts again when the books arrive back to you. So yes, they covered it again.

Yes, CGC has replaced all my cases for free. When I got my books back, some were cracked again and I had to send them back. CGC’s policy for Mechanical Errors is 14 days. After that time frame, they will not cover it for free. It’s very frustrating that this keeps occurring. I’ve stopped sending in books for blue universal labels. I still have had this happen with signature series books too recently. I have 3 books on their way back for cracked cases M.E. Hopefully they will be fixed.

I’ve seen this so many times on my orders. It’s crazy that this continues to still be an issue over a year later.

Huge props to @DELTA 62 for helping me add Hayden Christensen to my Star Wars books. The books were already signed by Ewan McGregor and graded 9.8. They kept their grades and are headed back to me. I’ll post picks of the slabs in the Star Wars thread when I have them in hand. Edit: Cary was very professional, and easy to work with. He responded to my questions in a timely manner which made everything go smoothly.

@ivdyer Hopefully CGC will make an exception in this situation. Absolutely dreadful. This is the craziest thing I’ve seen happen to a book during shipping. It’s so bad, they had to put the contents in a plastic bag with a WE CARE sticker on it.

That’s a new one I haven’t seen before. Book gets cracked out and remove for signature series. Book gets signed by creator. Signed book gets encapsulated with blue universal label AND original certification number

@Domo Arigato Has CGC hired blind QC employees. Couldn’t feel the coupon through the plastic holder.

@CGC Mike Is there anything you can do for this situation? That bottom edge of his book looks damaged.

@ThomasBlatchface Hard to say if it’s not the same book. It’s definitely not in the same condition even though it has the same grade. In comics general forum, there is a topic “ Where in the world was quality control “. I think you should post this in that thread.
