  1. I just got bitten by this same thing selling to a US seller (my apologies for my previous joke about selling to Canadians). This is not something that I want to deal with from now on. I'd rather accept money orders or checks or wire transfer or Zelle.
  2. Do they accept trades? Or maybe kidneys?
  3. @Axe Elf I don't think you're picking up what some of us are putting down. Identifying a copy of Eerie 1 is so questionable that even some of the most experienced dealers that were actually buying and selling comics shortly after the book came out, won't say with confidence that a copy is genuine. Yes, there are the well-documented hallmarks between the "first printing" and another printing that was apparently made from the original source material. But in this day and age, the quality of the original was so poor that it could be (conceivably) reproduced on some old used equipment. Like certain photocopiers. And if all you were looking for was the blackened in portion of the guy's head and the lines in the roof of the house, etc. most of us think you're setting yourself up for getting scammed. There are a lot of copies out there, claiming to be genuine but the majority of them are not. There are a couple copies that some board members have shown that have a complete provenance and as such, are almost certainly genuine. But buying a copy in the wild, is asking to be taken advantage of. As stated in the threads I linked for you, most experienced collectors would have difficulty feeling good buying a copy in person let alone via mail order. Unless you have substantial access to both a verified original and some of the many knock-offs (and to date, only a couple board members have), it's nearly impossible to state authenticity definitively. As I and several others have stated, I will not pursue a copy as the only thing I feel comfortable identifying is the "second printings" or counterfeits. Particularly the bad ones. Having said that, feel free to roll the dice. The rest of us are just trying to help you out.
  4. More to come later today. Feel free to PM with questions or offers (reasonable only, please).
  5. X-men 101 (former CGC 9.4, this book has been cracked out) with White Pages. The centering on this book is excellent and the freshness in hand is remarkable. I initially cracked this book out as it looks like a great upgrade candidate. I still think so but with TATs being what they've been, I'm selling it raw. My loss is your gain. This is the classic first appearance of Phoenix. $1900 Sold to RedGiant
  6. X-men 100 (former CGC 9.2, this book has been cracked out) with White pages. Beautifully centered, it's part one in the origin and first appearance of Phoenix. Classic Dave Cockrum cover. $400
  7. Ran into a bit of a cashflow crunch at work and unfortunately, have to sell some choice books. The usual rules for this thread apply: -No HoS or Probation list buyers -No buyers that I have on ignore (you probably know who you are but if you're not sure, I'll let you know) -I will ship to Canada but will have to quote shipping options. -Payment via Paypal or Zelle. Zelle preferred. -Shipping via USPS Priority for $13 for the continental United States. Shipping for Canada will be quoted. -First in the thread wins and prevails over pm offers -Returns accepted for 14 days after delivery Feel free to pm with offer or questions. I'm always open to reasonable package offers. My Kudos thread is here for those that don't know me: Thanks for looking!
  8. I don't like your chances but I'm impressed with your ambition. Here's some reading material on the subject:
  9. I'm bumping this thread for no specific reason.
  10. This first issue of Fantastic with a cover by Barye Phillips is one of the most under appreciated books, IMO.
  11. Hey! This is great to hear, pal! Can't wait to see it when it comes out!!
  12. All are welcome, my friend. Except for the smut that @Surfing Alien drops in the thread sometimes. Those books are completely unacceptable. However, books focusing on nurses are much appreciated. Encouraged even.
  13. A lot of Australian comics used Spanish artists or reused previously published art by Spaniards. This looks like the painting style for the highly accomplished Esteban Maroto. https://ausreprints.net/issue/52845/0
  14. Nice find! The page I looked at showed sold out but that must have been the first printing.
  15. I think Greg @ Dreamhaven books had it in stock before (2nd printing). Incorrect. I just spoke with him and he's sold out. I also did a broad web search and I'm coming up with no available copies! Here's a link to Stuart Ng who often gets these issues in: https://stuartngbooks.com/?subcats=Y&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&match=all&search_performed=Y&status=A&q=illustrators+magazine&dispatch=products.search
  16. Very nice, Dave! Somewhere, I have the cover proof for 41 but haven't seen it in a few years. I'm sure it'll show up if I ever reorganize the vault.
