  1. I recommend you purchase a very high number of modern variants and also 3rd and 4th printings of modern comics. If you can, try to corner the market on one or two of them, buy as many copies in any condition you can find them in. Also, as many copies of Spider-man #1 from 1990, doesn't matter which ones or what the condition is, buy all that you can get.
  2. I'd never store anything valuable in a PVC holder. Top loaders are bad.
  3. I definitely saw it. It was real and it was spectacular.
  4. In which case, the seller left a bit of money on the table. Unfortunate for them but great for the buyer.
  5. This is my hope as well. In other good news, expectations are being set so low that one could walk right over the bar without ever noticing it was there. That's usually a good thing.
  6. On the bright side, you've got a nice copy of the first appearance of Wolverine.
  7. Agreed. The seller is probably not loving that sale. But then, that's the risk of auctions- completely dependent on who's looking during that time.
  8. Man! What a great bunch of books, Tupenny! A lot of cream from the bronze age. That CM 17 is one of the best covers of the period, IMO. GLWTS!
  9. Fortunately, they don't certify hardcovers like that, Foggy. Why have a book that's encased in plastic so you can't read it? Seems wrong to me...
  10. It's a distressing image in almost every way.
  11. One should always be a little scared when they see that @Lazyboy has quoted them.
  12. Most of them did, Foggy. Most of them did.
  13. Jared Leto is radioactive to the success of any film when he's not the star. I don't believe it gets better with more of him.
  14. I've made a commitment to behaving better online than I would in person. But this thread is testing me.
  15. Am I the only one that thinks that looks photoshopped? The drop shadow looks heavy handed.
  16. I've always thought this is the most undervalued Warren Frazetta cover. Nice copy, OE!
  17. To be clear, chipping (Marvel and otherwise) is a result of tearing from a dull blade when the open side of the book is trimmed during production.
