  1. Dell 744, Gilbert, Michael, Death Has Deep Roots, FN- 5.5. A very pretty copy with general wear and a slight spine lean. Nice and bright with full gloss. One of my favorite covers of the period. Read someplace that this cover is by E. Harper Johnson (new to me), but it's another “fridge magnet” for sure. $10 Sold to goldust40
  2. Yeah, that kind of surprised me as well. I'm reminded of that time when I was obsessed with Maguire and declared that books with his covers were the absolute best. You replied "Except for Bergeys and Belarskis." And you were right. It's yours, sir.
  3. For clarity's sake, let's plan on more books tomorrow morning at 11:00 CST. I'll clean up the purchases and what's left in the meantime.
  4. Nice grab. You don't often see those digests in that condition and Quarter books can be very tough.
  5. And that's all I have ready for tonight. I have to work on something for a client tomorrow afternoon, so I'm going to try and wrap up the rest of the books for this thread in the morning. I'll give a one hour warning before I start back up. Thanks for all that have been looking and those that purchased!
  6. Quarter Books 80, Stonebraker, Florence, Frisco Dame, VF+ 8.5. Just a super nice copy of an uncommon digest from the early 50s. Glossy and fresh looking. Not 100% sure who did the cover art but it has a certain Howell Dodd feel to it (Edit: Confirmed it is Howell Dodd). Tough book in high grade. $50 Sold to adamstrange
  7. Kozy Book 154, Morton, Bowie, Water Witch, 1962, VF- 7.5 (unread). Solid copy with an incredible cover illustration. $20 Sold to mstrange
  8. Kozy Book 185, Weaver, Nicky, Love Blood & Tears, 1962, VF 8.0 (unread). Another overall pretty copy with bright colors and freshness but some very minor general wear. $25 Sold to goldust40
  9. Kozy Book 158, Thompson, John B., Kiss or Kill, 1962, VF/NM 9.0 (unread). Very pretty copy with bright colors and freshness. I still don't know who did the covers for these but I like it. $35 Sold to goldust40
  10. Midwood F220, Skinner, Mike, Flight Into Sin. FN- 5.5. Solid copy with general wear on covers and a minor tear at the heel of the spine. Cover illustration by Rader still bright and colorful. $50
  11. Midwood F215, Harris, Amy, Counter Girl. VG/FN 5.0 (Unread). Solid copy with age discoloration but otherwise very presentable. Another “refrigerator magnet” cover that is highly sought after with an iconic cover illustration by Robert Maguire. Scarce in any condition, I searched for a long time before I found a copy. $120 Sold per PM
  12. Midwood 124, Richards, Rick, Motel Hostess. FN 6.0 (Unread). A really nice, bright copy with excellent colors and gloss but it has an odd stiffness to it that seems like maybe it was exposed to humidity or something (not really visible in scan). Probably the sort of thing that could be pressed out. Beautiful cover illustration by Robert Maguire. $20 Sold to jimjum12
  13. Midwood 118, Hytes, Jason, This Girl. VF/NM 9.0 (Unread). Very pretty copy with really minor wear. Cover art by Paul Rader. $60 Sold to mstrange
  14. Midwood 78, Russo, Paul V., Restless Virgin. VF/NM 9.0 (Unread). Nice clean copy with excellent colors and minimal wear. Cover art by Paul Rader. $30
  15. Brandon House 953, O'Dair, Stan, Sinner's Town, 1966. FN 6.0. Solid copy with a light reading crease on the spine and general wear- still clean and bright. Cover art by Fred Fixler. $30 Sold to goldust40
  16. Brandon House 947, Owen, Robert N., Man For Hire, 1965. VF 8.0. A very pretty copy that looks almost brand new but for the price which is very neatly scratched out- another tough book in any shape. Cover art by Fred Fixler. $80
  17. Brandon House 906, Jay, Victor The Affairs of Gloria, 1964. VG/FN 5.0. General wear but still a nice, solid copy with age toning. Cover art by Fred Fixler. $50 Sold to goldust40
  18. Brandon House 729, Jay, Victor, Born To Be Made, 1965. FN- 5.5. Reading crease on spine and general wear but the cover is still clean and bright- hard to find title in any shape. Cover art by Fred Fixler. $120 ( There's a VG copy on Amazon for $275) Forgot to scan the back of this. There's a slight scuff but otherwise same as front. I'll add the scan later.
