  1. I can't say how many times that this has happened to me with comics, many dozens if not over a hundred. But when you collect non-comic magazines, it's even worse. Because a lot of people recognize that comics have value. But old issues of Collier's or a 1950s Detective magazine, I've seen some very messed up things. Including packages that are pretty much impossible to open without damaging the book. Very frustrating.
  2. I would only slab a book if I was going to sell it and knew that I would make more money slabbed than raw plus grading fees. Ideally, significantly more.
  3. Yep, that's the one. It's the January 1963 issue of Male magazine. Very happy to have found the publication! And yes, it's Gil Cohen.
  4. Some of us find these valuable.
  5. I don't have many Pocket Books in my collection. Cool to see some of these early Sci-Fi titles!
  6. That's excellent, Bob! Thanks for sharing a chapter in it's history. Since I first saw the book around 30 years ago, I've always wanted a copy. But when I was a kid, yes, this would've been in the category of "not collectable" for most of my friends. And thanks for putting it back so it could find it's way to me!
  7. I didn't realize this thread existed. A lot of nice books so far! I've posted it before but here's my small contribution.
  8. What I take from this thread is that you guys like to do models. But everyone wants to do a model. We put them on a pedestal and for many, it's a dream. You think about what it will be like, how good you'll feel when your finished. And most models look pretty good from a distance. But in the end you know that once you're finished with one model, you'll move on to the next one, never content with just having done the one model. And each successive one will bring you a little less pleasure than the one before. It's just the way it goes. Wait... what's with all the pictures of kids toys... never mind, disregard, disregard!
  9. None of these mags shouldn't still be here at these prices. Therefore, when it comes to these 5 books,
  10. This is the big boy of that bunch. Permanent classic and peak L.B. Cole!
  11. Are you saying that Warrior 1 isn't the first appearance??!!
  12. Jimbo starts when Jimbo starts. There is no warning. There is only Jimbo.
  13. Nice grab, Jimbo! I was seriously considering that book. Excellent pickup.
  14. @Joshua33, some of this looks like your cup of tea. Never know what Jimbo will produce in his excellent sales threads.
