  1. After meeting Stan several times and attending his panels, I remember him saying that he enjoys answering fan’s questions and that panels were his favorite part of comic cons. What went on at SVCC was not that. It was an obvious cash-in of assembly line autographs where he can’t remember how to spell his name and photoshoots to the point of exhaustion where he needed to take naps between guests. Whether Stan wants to admit it, he is not in any condition to be attending comic cons to the level in which he used to. Private signings or small capacity events may still be an option for him, but what happened at SVCC was elderly abuse in my mind and should no longer occur.
  2. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/amp/features/stan-lee-needs-a-hero-elder-abuse-claims-a-battle-aging-marvel-creator-1101229 Here is another good article about the recent Stan Lee events and the people closest to him. My personal opinion is that none of these people are looking after his best interests. I feel that they all are trying to get a “piece of the pie” while they still can and are using the media to create bad PR in order to win a game of King of the Hill.
  3. https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/04/08/concern-stan-lee-silicon-valley-comic-con/ This was a good read about Stan Lee’s first comic con appearance of 2018 this past weekend. I’m honestly disappointed that he is still attending comic cons and hope for his own health that he stops.
  4. Bump... any facilitators for this con? I’m interested in getting some Ron Frenz sigs.
  5. I remember Stan promoting the Hands of Respect at several of the comic cons I attended. He spoke with enthusiasm about stopping interactial violence and wore a pin with a black hand shaking a white hand to spread this message. I remember thinking that this was a nice positive message that he was spreading, especially with the recent police on minority murders that were making headlines. However, as someone who used to work in the non-profit sector, I found myself wondering where is the money going? There was no mention of money going to low income schools or toward scholarships. It’s sad to learn that this money was going to Jerry Olivarez (According to The Daily Beast Article). Jerry was exploiting a message of peace for personal gain. Also sad that Stan and JC were so trustworthy and oblivious to the vultures around them.
  6. I was just about to send some books out for Liefeld to sign next month. Oh well...
  7. I’m curious myself on what damaged their relationship considering how long Max has worked for Stan. I believe Max was a convicted felon due to domestic abuse. If I had to guess, Max might have been behind the recent unotherized condo purchase/stolen money or maybe even behind the nursing scandal. I feel bad that Stan has to go through all this nonsense at age 95 and less then a year after losing his wife.
  8. http://3riverscomicon.com/guests 3 Rivers Comic Con, located in Pittsburg is coming up May 19-20 and has several rare comic creators appearing who don’t generally appear outside of Pennsylvania. Will any facilitators be attending this show and accepting submissions for CGC?
  9. Reach out to Rich Henn on these message boards. He has had mail in opportunities in the past with Al Milgrom. Probably nothing at the moment because of the North Texas Comic Book Show, but he might be able to help you out later this year.
  10. Stan has been hit or miss with signature placement for a while and in the past 2 years he has been almost entirely miss. I’m thankful to have gotten the bulk of my Stan Lee sigs 5-6 year ago. I wouldn’t let him anywhere near one of my books these days.
  11. The first comic book I purchased off EBay and read was Amazing Spider-Man 200:However, the comic book that got me hooked on reading and collecting was Fantastic Four 21, which was my second purchase off EBay. Stan Lee’s writing combined with Jack Kirby’s art was captivating, entertaining and even included a plot twist and moral to the story. My first new comic book purchase from a comic book store was Walking Dead 100. After reading this book, I purchased every back issue and read the entire series. Still reading the new issues today. *Note* these images aren’t my copies. I posted them to show off the covers. I sold ASM200 and WD100 a few years back, but will be keeping my FF21 for life!
  12. This accusation seems false to me because: 1.) The Daily Mail is a tabloid that even Wikipedia doesn’t recognize as real news. 2.) The “unidentifed source” 3.) No evidence from the “unidentified source” & his current nursing company says he has been only respectful and kind to his nurses. 4.) No one went to the police. 5.) Stan Lee was extorted for $300,000 just a week ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if those same people are behind this in an act of revenge/blackmail. 6.) Very uncharacteristic of his public image. I don’t think I’ve ever even heard the man swear, much less talk the way this article claims.
  13. I'm thinking it's fake. The "T" doesn't connect to the "S" the same way it does for every Stan signature I have. One thing I can tell for sure is that if it is real, this signature is old. Stan's signature over the past 20 years doesn't look like that.
  14. Len was a legend in the comic industry. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I enjoyed reading his work. 69 is too young...
  15. What is the mail in deadline? I was told mid-Sept. My package will arrive on Wednesday, so hoping my books will make it in time. Thanks!
  16. I can verify that you are correct with the manual label entries because I have had 2 yellow label books come back to me with typos. Once with a different date and once with a different artist's name on the label when I added a new signature to it. Both times CGC was more than happy to correct the label for free, but this leads me to believe that a historical database of searchable signature series details cannot be created at this point.
  17. Is anyone taking submissions for this show?
  18. About 5 years ago I asked Stan Lee how he has so much energy at his age his answer was: "My wife, she keeps me going." RIP Joan.
  19. Carl purchased Amazing Spider-Man 2 from me. Another smooth transaction and great guy to do business with.
