  1. Clearly a typo. It's supposed to be Wal-verine. He guards Michigan Wal-Marts. Get it right, people.
  2. That is awesome and I agree that it would look better refinished. It also looks like it's going to be a beast to move. Good luck!
  3. Here's to hoping this guy appears in a post credits scene. I sure hope so, I picked up first MODOK a few weeks ago. He's great, visually. Can't wait to see that giant head on screen.
  4. This wasn't at a flea market or garage sale or anything, but I was surprised and pleased to snag a lot of 10 Cap books for $6 on eBay and have these three inside. First Crossbones! VF/NM.
  5. This is my new favorite quote. I will try to use it in conversation whenever possible. That's going to be odd in real life conversation. "I despise you, but golfclap.gif."
  6. Yeah, no clue. Probably thought he could get more, walked out, never got around to selling them and didn't want to go back to the LCS. People are weird (especially on CL). And yeah, that Bats in that photo is so out of place among all that other junk. "I bought a lot of crappy Harvey comics as a kid and one awesome Batman."
  7. Nothing that I've found, but a heads-up on some nice books on CL I spotted. I'd go grab them myself, but I can't drive that far down south due to family issues. Anyway, any South Michigan boardies might be interested in: http://flint.craigslist.org/bks/4624251590.html http://annarbor.craigslist.org/bks/4623766650.html If anyone snags 'em, let me know.
  8. Very nice bronze collection! How large is that Savage Sword run? Great reading there.
  9. Never had a bad experience with a comic creator, but Larry Niven (sci-fi author) was sort of rude to my friend and I at Motor City about a decade ago, but the story isn't that interesting. Shooter was very nice when I met him, and Walter Koenig gave me a sort of half-snarl half-grimace when I got his autograph (snagged when his handler wasn't around, so no $40 charge for me. Score!) If I ever meet Neal Adams I'm gonna have him sign a book about the origin and formation of the earth. I wonder how he'd react to that. (Adams has some pretty far-out-there non-scientific ideas on the formation of the earth that he expounds upon when given the chance)
  10. My first ever submission! Had them pressed first. The MP7 got a 6.0-6.5 in the Please Grade Me forum and came back a 6.5 ow/w. The MP4 shocked me: I had it pegged at 7.5-8.0, but it came back a 9.2 ow/w! Very, very pleased.
  11. Actually found something at the antique store yesterday worth reporting. $7 for both. Teen Titans isn't much better than a 6.5, but still nice. Darkhawk is probably 9.0, 9.2. (Sorry for the crappy phone pic)
  12. This would be most welcome. It's something I've always wondered about and have seen many ask about. I have a few beater books I've experimented with, and the results have not been impressive.
  13. Because there's money flowing, lawsuits are following: Frank Darabont suing AMC for "millions" because of Hollywood accounting. http://www.avclub.com/article/former-walking-dead-showrunner-frank-darabont-is-s-106581?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=feeds Loved this line at the end of the article: "It’s a particularly far-reaching and nasty lawsuit that hopefully will be resolved soon; after all, The Walking Dead isn’t about people arguing."
  14. "I'm selling my deadbeat ex-boyfriend's comics to make up for the back rent he owes me." This would make me stay far away, since they are probably not her's (legally) to sell. And....if he's a deadbeat, there's always a chance you'll be, you know, "beat dead". Stay away!
