  1. Very happy to add these to my collection. 2 Don Rosa pages showing a young Scrooge McDuck. From Of Ducks and Dimes and Destinies and The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, Chapter 2: The Master of the Mississippi.
  2. I'm of the opinion one can never have too much David Petersen's art, so here's my latest purchase:
  3. Great news! Imho, the Bill Sienkiewicz painting is a good example that as soon as a stolen piece hits the market publicly, someone will recognize it. The auction house failed to recognize the painting, but the piece was identified by collectors and reported to Bill S. and Sal A. within 24h of the auction catalogue becoming public. This shows that when people steal a piece, they not only need to sell it discreetly but trust that everyone down the line will do so as well. Even if they manage to trade it with an unsuspecting collector, it may still come back at the thief when the collector tries to sell it later on. Crime never pays. (or rarely) Talking about the Sienk Batman, does anyone have news? Last I heard, there was an ongoing lawsuit in France, but I don't know what came out of it.
  4. Trina Robbins had some artwork lost/stolen during shipping when an exhibit sent it back to her. See her Facebook post Here are the pictures of the lost artwork.
  5. I already have another commission planned with David, which I'll show once I get it.
  6. I'm a big fan of the series. I'll show you what I have. Buckle yourself, it's gonna be a long post. Let's start with the first Mouse Guard page I bought, from the Black Axe: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1073099 Let's continue with a commission my parents gifted me after I graduated with a degree in astronomy (Thank you to @alxjhnsn for his help in the process): https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1155373 The character David created for this commission was later integrated in the Legends of the Guard volume 3 book. Of course, I had to get a page in which my astronomer mouse appears : https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1398722 Probably my favourite Mouse Guard page in my collection, from Winter 1152. The main characters walking in the snow: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1398719 Another commission I got, this time pre-made. Thanks again to @alxjhnsn: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1155360 A quick sketch I got when I met David in Italy in 2014: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1668789 A commission from SDCC 2018: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1668788 And finally, a second page from Black Axe, which I picked because it shows many non-mice animals and I thought it was an interesting contrast. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1668787
  7. That's why I have both "Tim Sale" and "Sale Tim" in my favorite searches. Without the quotes, I get waaaaaaaaay too many irrelevant results.
  8. Try using quotes. I searched for "Batman Beyond" (quotation marks included) and got 130 results.
  9. Thanks for sharing your collection with us. Seeing all the pieces next to each other really let us appreciate your good taste. There isn't one piece of OA that feels out of place.
  10. The first picture looks great! The second looks like he's about to paint his walls and ceiling and has placed old papers on the floor to protect it.
  11. Some amazing pieces in this thread. I would love to own a published page. So far, my only Timm OA is this Batgirl headshot I got from SDCC 2018.
  12. I forgot Universal War One was published by Soleil. I confirm it's great. I'd love to have a page from that series, but when I looked into buying one from the artist several years ago, it was way more than I could afford.
  13. I didn't buy any published art from Soleil series yet, but I read some of the series they publish: Lanfeust, Ekhö, Trolls de Troy... Here are some sketches I got in my Soleil books: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1398441 https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1398695 https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1398431 https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=900032
  14. I hadn't noticed, but they actually misspelled Bill's name: They wrote Sienkienvicz
  15. No mention about this so far, I guess we'll see. I hope Bill gets the painting back. At least, we now have confirmation that it was indeed the stolen piece, and not a case of wrong picture in the catalogue.
  16. The auction house posted a statement on facebook: I'm not sure how to exactly translate some parts, and I'm not a native english speaker so please forgive me the mistakes, but here is a rough translation: Press communication about the July 8 auction at Cornette de Saint Cyr -------------- As part of the comic art auction of July 8 2020, Mr DAHAN, owner and the painting, and Cornette de Saint Cyr, have been informed that a painting by Bill Sienkienvicz (sic) titled Batman VS Joker would have been stolen during shipping from USA to France. Mr DAHAN the current owner, wasn't aware of the origin presented as fraudulent of the piece, which would have been stolen in 2016, and which he has bought legally from a person in France who introduced themselves as an agent and friend of the artist. The payment was done by wire transfer in 2016. Informed of the situation, Mr DAHAN and Cornette de Saint Cyr, have immediately decided to pull the piece from the auction. In addition, Mr DAHAN has immediately instructed his lawyer to file a complaint at the Paris public prosecutor (Parquet de Paris). The complaint for fraud has been filed on June 26 2020. The artist has been informed of the legal proceedings by Mr DAHAN and could decide to join it.
  17. Are you sure he's the one who ordered it? Because I thought it was Emilien who ordered it (At least, that's what he told me, also on 2dg).
  18. The auction is in July. Apparently the house has removed the piece from the auction. The owner of the piece for sale went to Twitter and claims that the auction house put the wrong picture in the listing: In the replies of this tweet. I, too, wish that we'll know what truly happened.
  19. Batman/Joker painting by Bill Sienkiewicz, stolen in 2016, resurfaces in french auction house Cornette de Saint Cyr: If the name Cornette de Saint Cyr sounds familiar, it may be because it was the auction house featured in the story of the damaged Mignola a few years ago (on page 3 of the following topic).
  20. Who is the auction house? Some are better than others when it comes to shipping. I still shudder when I remember the horror story I've read here about damaged art due to awful packing by Cornette de St Cyr (on page 3):
  21. Does anyone know where the cover to Usagi Yojimbo #139 is? I'd be interested in purchasing it.
  22. Thanks Brian and Bill for organizing this. Thanks to everyone who took part in the Best Of and posted OA. It was great seeing all these beautiful art pieces, it was a particularly good year. Choosing my votes was arduous, as there were so many pieces I wished I could vote for. For those who voted for my commission: Thank you, you have great taste.
  23. Ah, silly me! I just realized it is actually registered in the Best Of 2018, so I won't have to wait next year to vote for it. It just got my vote.
  24. I didn't get a chance to vote in the "Best of 2018" yet, but I already know one of my votes one year from now in the "Best of 2019".
